World Hindi Day celebrated at Melbourne Consulate with cultural festivities & awards

The Consulate General of India in Melbourne, in collaboration with Sahitya Sandhya, Hindi Niketan Melbourne, and Hindi Shiksha Sangh, marked World Hindi Day with a vibrant celebration. The event featured a special message from India’s Prime Minister, read by Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar, who praised the Indian community for their efforts in preserving and promoting the Hindi language.

The celebration included awards for participants in Hindi poetry and essay competitions, recognizing their contributions to the language. Children also showcased their talents by reciting poems and engaging in cultural activities. Anita Barar and Shally Khanna were felicitated for their outstanding efforts in promoting Hindi in Australia.

A special exhibition on the works of Poetess Mahadevi Verma, curated by Anita Barar, was also displayed at the Consulate, highlighting the rich legacy of Hindi literature. The event highlighted the growing influence and importance of Hindi in Australia’s multicultural landscape.
