TEE IT UP

HOLE IN ONE!

We are now into the full swing of summer! With summer comes the warm temperatures and humidity that the Carolinas is known for. Remember to hydrate yourself properly and if you don’t feel quite right before your round or during your warm up, don’t risk playing. Also, summer is the time of year for pop-up thunderstorms in our area. Below is the procedure to follow if dangerous weather threatens you while on the course:

Congratulations to Wayne DiCastri, Andy White and Dr. Bill Young on their holes in one this spring! Way to go guys!

1 Long Horn Blast: Evacuate Immediately! Come to clubhouse or shelters on course. 3 Short Horn Blasts: Play may resume We will do our best to warn you of dangerous weather but we also ask that you use good judgement and common sense when weather is in the area. Most all of us have our smartphones with us during our round and have a weather app. The Professional Staff uses the same technology in the Golf Shop as you do so what our radar looks like and shows is almost always exactly like yours. Contrary to popular belief, none of our Professional Staff are weathermen or have any education in meteorology but we will do our best to keep you aware of the weather situations and let you know when play resumes. Keep in mind, once we are under a weather warning, we are not at liberty to send staff out into a dangerous situation so if you feel like weather is in the area, start making your way to the clubhouse if you are on foot. Thank you again to everyone who helped us over Memorial Day Weekend with our Folds of Honor Fundraiser. The Professional Staff played over 100 holes, made 86 birdies, and raised almost $12,000 for Folds of Honor. It was truly a great experience and honor to be a part of. Thanks to everyone who contributed and we hope to make this a yearly campaign at the club.

COURTSIDE NEWS

Juniors

Morning and afternoon kid's Tennis Clinics available all summer! 10:00am-12:30pm Monday-Thursday (every other week) 1:00pm-3:00pm Monday-Thursday (every week) *Register online through the event calendar.

We are living in some serious and strange times indeed. However, we are trying to create a safe environment for everyone to get some exercise and play with family and friends. Please remember that we do not have water coolers on the courts in an effort to limit shared contact surfaces so please bring a water bottle when you come to play. Bathrooms are open in both buildings and we ask that people don’t spend more time than necessary in either pro shop. All the clay courts are now open, but please continue to use the online reservation system to help us know when we are able to water the courts. The best thing to do is play on an empty bank of courts, if you have to play next to others and a ball rolls to your court, just kick it back or hit it with your racquet, please don’t pick it up with your hands to send it back. If you are playing with others, please remember to wash hands or hand sanitize before and after play and socially distance if you are sitting around the deck following tennis. Junior camps have started and we will be using courts #1 & 2 every week for those and sports camp weeks, we will use #1-4 instead of the indoor courts in an effort to keep everyone out in the fresh air. On rainy days, the camps will use both the indoor courts. I’m sorry for the inconvenience but it is the best we can do in these times. We hope to have more events planned this summer but are being cautious at this time. If things change and we are able to do more, we will e-mail everyone updates.

4TH OF JULY SOCIAL 10:00am Start

Start your day with us on the courts on the 4th of July for a Tennis Social! Registration will be available online.

FITNESS & WELLNESS

PHYSICAL THERAPY with Dr. Kristen Veres

FITNESS IS NOT CANCELED!

This is the year you get out of pain! The events of 2020 are forcing us within - to stay within our communities, our homes, and more deeply within ourselves. We have been given an opportunity to spend more time and energy on our own selves. This may look like a new meal plan, a new exercise routine, more time spent with family, or healing wounds that you never made time for in the past. Fortunately, as a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 10 years of experience, I can help you with most of these lifestyle changes! When you choose to work with me, we start with a comprehensive total body evaluation that begins the process of getting to the root cause of your issue. All therapy sessions are 60 minutes in length, one-on-one with me, onsite at the country club. This unique setup allows you to have the undivided attention of one of the best human movement specialists in the area! Together we develop a plan of care specific to your body, time and financial needs. Then the journey to better health and wellness is under way. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can make progress toward your goals when you have the right interventions for you!

Hopefully by the time you read this, the fitness center will be open. We will have to limit the hours because staff will likely be required to supervise and check people in. Reservations will not be required but there will be a limited capacity, so if it is full, you will have to wait to enter. Most likely, masks will be required and temperature checks as well. Group Fitness Classes will remain outdoors on the back lawn for the time being as well. See the current schedule below. Registration is not required and classes are complementary to all members.

Yoga with Paula Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30am-9:30am Cardio/Muscle Pump with Joseph Wednesdays & Fridays 9:00am-10:00am

Don't waste any more time this summer putting off your own health. Call or email me today to schedule your physical therapy appointment: 828.333.7229 or kristen@conciergephysicaltherapists.com.

THE HICKORY STICK

Personal Training and Small Group Training are currently available outdoors as well. Call or text Joseph at 828.551.2307 to schedule your session.
