THE VENUE: McCOLL CENTER FOR VISUAL ART McColl Center for Visual Art is a nationally acclaimed contemporary art center dedicated to connecting art and artists with the community. Located in a historic, neo-Gothic church in Uptown Charlotte, the Center houses nine artist studios and over 5,000 square feet of gallery space, hosting artists from the region, nation and world. Artists inspire critical thinking and positive change. They interpret the past and invent the future. McColl Center for Visual Art’s residency program offers artists a place to work, conductresearch and participate in outreach projects which extend into the community.

THE EVENT: STUDIO PARTY 13:

presented by Bank of America Saturday, April 13, 2013, 7 PM All three floors of McColl Center for Visual Art will be brimming with a one-night only art sale featuring 30 of the Center’s fabulous alumni artists in a special exhibition of contemporary art. Eight of the Center’s artist studios will be transformed into themes of their own design and complemented by gourmet treats provided by Porcupine Provisions, along with cocktails and music. Studio Party 13 sponsorships directly supports the residencies of artists from all over the world and keeps the Center’s gallery open and free to the public. In addition, local and regional artists are directly supported by the evening’s art sales, retaining 70% of all work sold.
