From the CEO Labels play an undeniable role in the consumer buying process. At MCC Label, every label we create helps cultivate emotional connections between brands and consumers. Today, those connections are increasingly shaped by sustainability, transparency, and compliance. Sustainability has evolved from a market differentiator into a fundamental requirement. New laws, including the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation in the European Union and emerging Extended Producer Responsibility legislation in the United States, are reshaping expectations for packaging, materials, and circularity. At the same time, consumers are choosing products that reflect their values. They increasingly expect transparency, accountability, and measurable progress. To stay ahead, brands must respond to both regulatory change and consumer expectations.

Our role as a partner

As a global leader in premium labels, MCC helps brands respond to a rapidly changing landscape. We develop solutions that delight consumers, support regulatory compliance, and anticipate what is coming next. By combining clarity with scalable innovation, we help our partners navigate complexity with confidence and unlock new opportunities in circular packaging.

Our commitment goes beyond products. It extends to responsible governance, ethical business practices, and meaningful environmental impact, helping our partners do more than keep pace with change – helping them lead.

Sustainability embedded in how we work At MCC, sustainability is not a standalone initiative; it is embedded in how we think, operate, and innovate. Our “Labeled with Care” ethos guides our work across people, operations, and products. Through ambitious goals, global collaboration, and continued investment in innovation, we are helping shape a more sustainable and circular future.

Moving forward together

Sustainability is no longer simply a trend; it is a shared responsibility and an ongoing commitment. On behalf of the entire MCC team, thank you for your continued support as we continue this journey together.

People

Making a global impact begins with how we act toward and support individuals – from each customer to our 13,000 employees around the world. It’s a responsibility we carry across everything we do, and it sits at the heart of our “Labeled with Care” ethos.

Employees Through our human resources and governance efforts, we pursue sustainable employment built on well-being, education, and equality. Listening to our employees is central to that commitment. A global employee engagement survey surfaced positive indicators in the areas of loyalty, satisfaction, and adaptability, including:

Safety

Our safety approach, based on Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles, continues to deliver measurable improvements year after year and remains a key part of our success. We maintain strong alignment and transparency by regularly engaging with stakeholders through Monthly Operating Reviews, one-to-one discussions, safety updates, on-site training, and clear leadership communication. By creating a trust-based, no-blame environment, we encourage teams and partners to speak up, share what they learn, and actively contribute.

People

Customers Collaboration with customers and stakeholders is crucial to foster innovation and sustainability across the value chain. Continuous communication with our customers is a key strength, positioning us as a reliable and innovative partner.

Innovation Through Education We bring the industry together to learn. Our Packaging Summits, held across three continents, convene manufacturers, associations, and other key players for several days of shared discussion on innovation, sustainability, and the practical work of implementing PPWR and the various EPR schemes. Our Packaging Colleges are a more focused format, shaped around the topics that matter most to a specific sector or customer. We’ve delivered many of these sessions, covering subjects from Labels 101 to sustainability, innovation, and RFID, often working alongside a customer’s own team so the learning runs both ways.

MCC has always had a great reputation for innovation and customer-centricity. When I joined the company in 2023, not only was it confirmed, but it was even better than I thought. Hassan Rmaile CEO, MCC

20

Industry Leadership MCC is recognized across the industry as a source of knowledge and expertise. We act as a regulatory advisor on projects such as R3 in Norway and through CEN working groups, helping move the industry forward through collaboration. Our experts are also regularly invited to speak at industry forums such as ProPak Indonesia and events hosted by the Australasian Institute of Packaging, sharing MCC’s perspective on sustainable packaging design and the role labels play in recyclability and reducing emissions.

Making a Community Impact MCC contributes to the well-being of the communities where we operate by supporting local initiatives, fostering economic development, and engaging in philanthropic activities that address community needs. Here are just a few examples of our company- and team-led initiatives.

Showing Up in the Wake of the Storm United States When Hurricane Helene hit the Southeastern United States in 2024, our teammates demonstrated the best of MCC. Across the company, they contributed nearly $34,000 for food, water, and supplies that reached our Asheville, North Carolina, and Fountain Inn, South Carolina, sites within days – even while many were coping with damage to their own homes. The care our people showed one another and their neighbors is something we’re proud of.

Real Paths into STEM Ireland Two of our colleagues shared their career journeys – one from productionline operator to operations lead, the other into quality management – on the Greatness Has No Gender podcast. We are excited by our teammates’ accomplishments and appreciate how they are lending their voices to the wider conversation about who STEM is for and the doors it can open.

Two Centuries of Local Roots Germany In 2025, our Hann. Münden site marked 200 years of operation – generations of steady work, livelihoods, and investment in one community. We celebrated the milestone with current and former employees and their families, honoring the people whose work built both the site and the town around it.

21

Sustainability is defined by what we deliver, not what we promise. By embedding it into how we operate every day, we are driving measurable impact for our customers, our business, and the environment. Dr. Stijn Billiet

Operations

Transforming the Way We Work As a market leader, MCC strives to be a responsible global citizen working toward a circular economy. We are making strides toward achieving far-reaching targets across our supply chain and production processes, contributing to a more sustainable future and unlocking new growth and resilience opportunities. Our operational sustainability agenda is organized around three priority areas:

Ambitious goals Ratings, Commitments, and Partnerships Local projects

24

Ambitious Goals In 2023 we became the first label converter to have our Science Based Targets formally approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These challenging but achievable targets commit us to advancing the journey toward a zero-carbon economy.

BY 2028

33.6% absolute reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2028 (2021 baseline)

BY 2030

25% absolute reduction of Scope 3 emissions (2021 baseline)

BY 2050

Net zero emissions across the value chain

MCC earned an EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing us in the top 15% of all organizations the platform evaluates.

Ratings, Commitments, and Partnerships When it comes to sustainability, we recognize there is strength in numbers. That’s why we partner with prestigious organizations that share our vision for a greener world. These ratings, commitments and partnerships support transparency, accountability and continuous improvement across MCC’s sustainability program.

Alongside these ratings and commitments, we’re engaging with multiple local partners throughout the value chain who are also working toward a sustainable future. Only through open and constructive collaboration can we solve the issues we face as an industry.

It’s our strongest EcoVadis result yet, and our largest year-over-year improvement. EcoVadis is one of the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating systems, assessing more than 130,000 companies worldwide across four categories: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Global brands rely on its ratings to evaluate the sustainability performance of their suppliers and partners.

The EcoVadis Silver Medal reflects MCC’s continued commitment to advancing meaningful sustainability practices across our global operations. Our improved performance demonstrates tangible progress in strengthening environmental stewardship, enhancing social responsibility, and upholding the highest ethical and procurement standards. Hassan Rmaile CEO, MCC

Operations

Local Projects MCC integrates sustainability into every facet of our business. We are committed to continuous improvement and lead by our actions, inspiring customers, employees, and suppliers to join us in creating a brighter future.

New Life for Old materials Thailand Our Bangkok team turned recycled MCC liners and backing paper into dining tables and chairs for children, giving used materials a second life as something useful and lasting. It’s a tangible reminder that circular thinking can create real social value for the next generation. We’re also proud to introduce our Sustainable Meeting Room at MCC Thailand, where the walls, panels, roof, tables, and chairs have been created using recycled label liner waste. Next time you visit MCC Thailand, ask to see our fully recycled meeting room.

Diverting Waste from Landfills APAC MCC APAC partners with ResourceCo to divert more than 95% of dry waste away from landfills and convert it into fuel that displaces fossil fuels for high-energy users. Less waste and lower emissions mean a cleaner environment for the communities living alongside our operations. This is in effect across the APAC region. Please reach out to your local site to find out more.

26

Solar Panels Installations Global As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, MCC plants around the world have installed solar panels to leverage this renewable source of clean energy. Solar panels significantly reduce our carbon footprint by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and water pollution. Additionally, these projects create jobs for the local community, provide energy security and independence in challenged regions, and increase productivity. To date, solar panels have been approved or installed at the following locations: MCC Verstraete, Belgium MCC Batavia, United States MCC Bangkok, Thailand MCC Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia MCC Penang, Malaysia MCC Manila, Philippines MCC Paarl, South Africa MCC Johannesburg, South Africa MCC Daventry, United Kingdom MCC Adelaide, Australia

PPWR Whitepaper Europe The EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) replaced the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive, which had been in effect since 1994. It applies across the EU and establishes binding requirements for packaging and packaging waste. We created a whitepaper to help educate and inform anyone who is interested about this regulation that has significant effects on the industry and our customers.

Electric Delivery Vehicle Fleet Asia MCC Thailand introduced a new Electric Vehicle Fleet to deliver products to our customers with reduced carbon emissions. This contributes to the reduction of brand owners Scope 3 emissions.

A Holistic Approach to Innovation Our Innovation team, comprising specialists across R&D, Product Development, Sustainability, Regulatory, and Marketing, collaborates with brands to develop consumer-driven label solutions. We stay at the forefront of market innovation by listening to customer challenges and tailoring solutions to meet those needs.

ThermoWash™ ThermoWash makes glass bottles fully reusable. Label components release cleanly as one in the wash, leaving the water bath uncontaminated and enhancing the quality of reused glass bottles.

recycLABEL Pressure Sensitive™

recycLABEL Pressure Sensitive makes HDPE and PET containers fully recyclable under the EU RecyClass Evaluation Protocol and the US APR Design Guide. Its thinner construction uses less material and helps improve both the quality and quantity of recycled plastic.

InkPression™ InkPression delivers a premium, label-less look using only ink and adhesive to the container – no plastic facestock. The result is a striking look that is not achievable with other printing technologies combined with a low carbon footprint.

NextCyle IML™

30

NextCycle IML labels are designed to auto-release from the container during mechanical recycling, allowing for high-purity rPP. This in-mold label technology is a drop-in solution available for PP, HDPE, PET application in combination with injection molding, thermoforming, and injection stretch blow molding (ISBM).

Innovating to Solve Real-World Challenges MCC has a long and proud history of being an industry pioneer. That includes the development of the in-mold label, among many innovations. Our company continues to advance the next generation of sustainable labeling solutions. Our in-house R&D team continually strives to create the latest solutions to solve customer’s most pressing challenges. Ultimately, our aim is that all MCC customers can choose label products and solutions that will not hinder the final package from being recyclable, reusable, or compostable.

Insights to Make Informed Decisions

Breaks down emissions contributions, including electricity, raw materials for labels, ink, transportation, and other sources.

MCC is committed to helping brands achieve their sustainability goals by providing a clear understanding of the environmental impact of their labels.

Life Cycle Analysis Our Label Impact Life Cycle Analysis is a lifecyclebased performance assessment tool that compares a customer’s existing label with a more sustainable solution. The report, available by request from MCC, translates complex technical information into a graphic, easy-to-understand format. While it should not be used as precise product footprint data, the Label Impact Life Cycle Analysis serves as a valuable tool for making informed decisions on material selection and sustainability improvements.

Environment

Double Materiality Assessment We conducted a double materiality assessment with an external provider to evaluate how our actions impact the environment and society, and how environmental and social factors influence our business operations. Considering these dual perspectives, we comprehensively understand our responsibilities and opportunities to strengthen ESG reporting readiness and focus. Through surveys, interviews, and workshops, we engaged with over 50 stakeholders to identify the most relevant topics for MCC. The double materiality assessment is about transparency, accountability, and making informed decisions that benefit all stakeholders. It’s a crucial step in our commitment to Labeled with Care and to sharpen our focus on responsible business practices.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

MCC uses recognized reporting frameworks, ratings, and external assessment platforms to track progress and identify improvement opportunities. 36

As part of our Labeled with Care commitment and strategy, we respond to the CDP climate change questionnaire every year. CDP is one of the most comprehensive and internationally recognized sustainability reporting platforms. A global non-profit organization, CDP provides investors with a clear view on how sustainability is incorporated into the business strategy and practices. Companies that disclose to CDP are scored using letter grades A to D-, and different scores are provided for each focus area (climate change, water, and forests). The scores are calculated using questionnaire responses.

Confirmed by our recent materiality assessment, climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation are two crucial topics for MCC. We understand this is a key priority for our company and our stakeholders. Since 2020, we have raised the bar for ourselves, and we are very proud of the results we have achieved. MCC is now at the management level (B-) and another step closer to achieving the leadership level we aspire to.
