We hope you enjoy your day here at Market Bosworth RFC and good luck to all players participating in this festival.

Our beloved club has a rich history, steeped in tradition and we are bound together by our unwavering passion for the sport of rugby.
I’m sure you all know the core rugby values, these being Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship and these are what makes the game special for those who enjoy the environment and culture they create.
Sam Harding Chairman Market Bosworth RFC
EVENT SPONSOR ADVERT

Suppliers of all aspects of commercial and industrial vehicle cleaning services on a nationwide scale.

Welcome... from event organiser Tom Kilburn
Firstly, I would like to welcome you all to Market Bosworth RFC, for what has the potential to be a feast of amazing rugby.

From our experiences over the last few seasons we have brought together some great sides who all play some exciting rugby and I am sure wont disappoint today.

Secondly, I would like to thank our sponsors who have really got behind the event to help make it what it is today. Especially our event sponsor Vardens Group.
I would also like to thank all of those that have helped make today possible, as without the your support today would have been an idea in my head.
Over the last couple of years our current under 12s age group have been travelling to festivals outside our area to play against new clubs and have new experiences. Over that time we have played against some very good teams where the coaches have a fantastic coaching ethos. It was my vision to bring those clubs together and host a festival to rival all other festivals where not only the event is a success but the quality of rugby is highly competitive throughout, to give these teams a perfect setting to showcase their talent.
I hope everyone has a really enjoyable experience.
CLUB PARTNERS
Thank you to all of our club partners for your loyal support throughout the season.

CLUB HISTORY
Market Bosworth RFC was founded in 1965 by a group of local rugby enthusiasts who were passionate about the sport and wanted to create a team that could compete against other local sides.

The founding members faced many challenges in those early years, including a lack of facilities, funding, and equipment. However, they were determined to succeed and worked tirelessly to build a strong and competitive team as well as the small matter of a clubhouse!
As the club grew, it began to attract more players and supporters. In the 1980s, the club achieved a significant milestone when it won the Leicestershire Merit Table and was promoted to the County League. This marked a turning point for the club, as it began to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in the local rugby community.

Over the years, Market Bosworth RFC has enjoyed many memorable moments on the pitch. The club has won various cups and tournaments, including the Leicestershire Cup, the Warwickshire Vase, and the Midlands 5 West (North) league title. The club has also produced several talented players, some of whom have gone on to play professional rugby and represent both country and the British & Irish Lions.
Off the pitch, Market Bosworth RFC is an active member of the local community. The club run a number of programs to encourage local people to get involved in rugby, including youth coaching clinics, school programs, and social events for members of all ages as well as supporting local clubs and societies including the art club, the Young Farmers and the local Scout Group. The club has also been involved in various charitable initiatives, raising money for local and national causes.
Market Bosworth RFC has continued to thrive. The club is now going through a fresh lease of life with a brand new executive committee headed up by former mini Junior player Sam Harding. In such a short space of time we have seen the clubhouse under go a refit, new roof fitted and improvements to the driveway. There is major growth on the pitch too with the development of a new girls section (U12, U14 & U16) and our first ever senior women’s team, the Lionesses.
With a rich history and a strong community focus, Market Bosworth RFC looks set to continue to be a key part of the local rugby community for many years to come.

Honoured to be invited and honoured to represent New Zealand.
Famed and feared across Staffordshire and the wider Midlands – The Wolf Pack are a tremendous group of kids who combine a ferocious passion for rugby with a genuine understanding of the core components of our game; Communication, Reaction, Anticipation and Purpose.

Like the New Zealand team they are representing - the team are drawn from a genuinely diverse set of backgrounds. Much credit goes to local multi-sport coaching legend James “Rock Hard” Carpenter who has moulded them into a cohesive and effective unit.
The Wolf Pack are also fortunate to enjoy vocal

GROUP C
Oxford Quins RFC – Australia

G’day! Hailing from the timeless city of dreaming spires, Oxford, the Harlequins may be a young club in comparison, but our spirit and passion for the game are ages old. Our Under-12s team, a core squad who’ve been playing together since they could first grasp a rugby ball, is a testament to this. We’re thrilled to welcome some new, exciting additions to our squad this season, further strengthening our line-up.
A massive shout-out to Tom and everyone at Market Bosworth for their efforts in organising and hosting what promises to be an extraordinary event. We have no doubt that today will be filled with camaraderie, competition, and memorable moments on and off the field.

Fiji also have a strong heritage in Rutland due to the army camps nearby, with many family members playing at the club.
Previous encounters: Met up in February 2023 after suggestions it would be a well matched contest from teams we had both face. The fixture didn’t disappoint as we had a tied result.
GROUP C continued

Bugbrooke RFC – Georgia

The greatest little village side in the county of Northamptonshire, and arguably the world. The village may not be that well known but it does have one important amenity, a pet shop. A group of kids from the surrounding villages that aspire to be better players than their dads, and often demonstrate potential to do so. Affectionately known as ‘The Badgers’ this group, that has been together since U’6s can be identified out of kit by the large number of mullets on show and their pack like behaviour!
We’re really looking forward to getting back to Market Bosworth and represent Georgia. The boys have been tasked with learning all 3 verses of Tavisupleva the national anthem. We’re hoping to do better on the pitch than in any musical endeavour’s pre-game.

GROUP D
