This election year, it seems like every politician imaginable is talking about the U. S. Constitution. What is “constitutional?” what is “unconstitutional?’ “The Constitution says ….” “The Constitution is silent on ……” “My Constitutional right to …..”
It can all be pretty confusing, especially to those among us who are no longer very familiar with the Constitution itself. It’s been a long time since that high school American Government class we all took so far in our pasts.
In this first of three presentations, we will examine how the Constitution came into being, why was it written, how was it written, and who wrote it.
Later in the summer, two more presentations will explore in some detail what the Constitution says and doesn’t say and will explain how it operates.

Bob Williams, a friend of Bill’s was employed part time with the Older Adult Program and suggested that Bill would also enjoy working with OAP. Bob knew that Bill was good with people, patient, enjoyed helping others, and was comfortable talking with anyone.
Bill joined OAP in 2016 and has been an integral part of making activities and programs enjoyable. He’s assisted in set-ups, served many meals, welcomed everyone, encouraged participant interactions and even wore a tuxedo for photos during special events. He will be missed and we wish him the best.

POEMS FROM THE POETRY CIRCLE
Her Husband's Serenade by Kathy Olsen
I lay here on the roof,
Drowsy with softness, warmth
Of sun and shadow, wind cool,
Blowing flowers and curtains.
Over the crashing, rushing
Noises of the outside crazy
Floats the moving beauty, and
Emotion. A serenade created
By a pure, sweet soul.
I smile and feel all is beauty
And love in this time and place.
