Jasmyn Goodwin has spent nearly two decades explaining Omaha to everyone else. Now she gets to decide what gets said. Goodwin was named executive director of Visit Omaha in August 2025, capping a 19-year climb that started in 2007 when she answered phones and made coffee runs as a PR and marketing assistant for the city’s tourism authority. Goodwin sat down with Midlands Business Journal to talk about the night a tweet made her famous inside her own industry, the piece of a predecessor she’ll never let go of, and what changes when the person who used to promote the city’s message becomes the person who writes it.
