Obesity is a big issue especially faced in the North American region due to the obese environments, fatty foods, busy & fast routines and uncontrolled diets. In Canada it has been seen as an alarming indicator for future health issues, problems that relates to being overweight and lack of maintenance of a proper lifestyle. A huge amount i.e. 63% also believes that people with obesity issues can manage their weights through their mindset and regular mental and physical exertions.

A huge 72% of health care providers believe that people with obesity are not motivated enough to manage their own weights. However this report was conducted by ACTION i.e. Awareness, Care, and Treatment in Obesity Management Study. The motive of this study is to create awareness on a global scale, treatments and a complete management of Obesity with timelines.

HOW MOTIVATION CAN CREATE SELF-AWARENESS:

‘Motivation’, a word very commonly and significantly used in creating self-awareness in weight loss treatments. Either you can motivate yourself or an awareness can be created through awareness programs similar to that of the study called ‘ACTION’.

This is through specialists that are linked with creating diabetes awareness on a global level, heart diseases and other obesity related diseases and illnesses. The motive of the study ACTION similar to its name significance means taking immediate actions for health issues, getting remedies for obesity problems and finally the best treatments and diagnosis. Once people are self-motivated, they can easily encounter their obesity problems with a deeper understandings of their lifestyle. Why lifestyle matters? Employers in Canada need to treat obesity as a chronic disease and move it out of the lifestyle category. A report based on a survey of 2000 people with obesity, 395 health-care providers and 150 employers. Hence, the thing that is highly needed is an access to other treatment options i.e. for effective weight management, e.g. paying for the medications, and additionally paying for psychology for obese people, research, support and health-care, and diet care specialists.

In the first and foremost instance moving it to the category of chronic diseases will definitely have a psychological impact on the mentality of most obese people. Hence, that will definitely help them in breaking any mental barriers and effectively using the employer’s support in combatting issues of obesity.

Preference in walking to their workplaces, cycling or immediately going for an exercise from their workplace. A greater employer support will also help in creating an environment of change for the employees, and convincing them mentally that fitness levels will make them more happy and motivated at the workplace.

Another survey shows that a huge 77% say that their wellness programs contribute to a successful weight management. This is a sharp contrast to the perspective of people with obesity i.e. 32%.

AN INDIVIDUAL’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE:

The responsibility of an individual in this regards is collectively more important than the employer’s support regards to their weight management program. ‘Weight management’ is part of a healthy life style and awakening of smart measures while working 9-5 or working for your own business.

An individual’s responsibility must strictly adhere to their BMI i.e. Body Mass Index checks at a regular basis to make sure that they get into the ideal weight category sooner rather than later. Similar BMI Checks are also done by practitioners and health-care providers to turn to weight loss solutions for their customers.

Many health-care providers strongly recommend that diet and exercise is the best treatment with quick results. Good motivational books on the subject of weight reduction through diet are the ones that shall influence the readers in being smart weight watchers.

Exercise acts like the best medicine in reducing the weight levels and acting smart accordingly to the demands of the society. Very few people think that medication works best in reducing the weight for obese people. However, there are more people who think that exercise and a healthy diet is an essential aspect in attaining best and longer results. Fitness is not only a personal responsibility, it should be a collective responsibility for a better & prospective tomorrow.
