The program was initially launched in 2017 due to a partnership between the IRCC and ESDC (Employment & Social Development Canada). IRCC obviously is the pivotal body that is responsible for immigration into Canada.

The GTS helps certain & selected Canadian employers to hire highly-skilled talent from around the world, enabling them to compete on a more international scale. The employ- expedite the process of hiring foreign nationals via the Global Skills Strategy.
