In the business world, if you want to expand your vision for success, it’s really important to respect & acknowledge talented people. The more talented people under your umbrella, the more it will bring you up as ‘Talent Management’ & identification of talent is always a huge plus while you start moving up the ladder. In the corporate & business world, the more we think we are the best, the more we ignore the importance of talent, as Talent Management is significant for people to gain success. In the process of extracting raw talent, it’s the mingling with the talented people that shall enable you to learn more & progress with far more values. The energy that counts as mingling with talent consistently will make you more effective.

The other day I was reading this very important book, ‘Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey. The book interestingly revolves around the most vital & most key importance of talent & how it needs to be identified & nurtured.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE SPARK:

Identifying the spark in a person is most important if you want to utilize his talent in your company or any other way. What is the best thing that you have identified & the thing that can make him an asset which is a key asset for the company? Identify aspects such as how you can modify his talent for your best utilization. For instance, if you have a Mercedes, but the motor mechanic available to work for you is mainly someone who is more experienced with Toyota cars. What can you change to make him your very own mechanic?

Someone who can explore that quality in the Motor mechanic, which can make him your very own. Just like a captain knows well how to utilize a utility cricketer to break a partnership or to stick around as a batsman when needed.

USING & UTILIZING THE TALENT OF OTHERS IS KEY:

If you want to celebrate success as an entrepreneur, believe me, what’s most important is that you must know how to utilize the talent of others. Utilize the talent & identify the big spark in that person for reasons that can make him stand out from the crowd.

If you need to utilize him properly, you should work it out for him. If you need work, you definitely would need him ample amount of liberties. Liberty or leverage shall always help. Most importantly, in terms of managing the levels of loyalty.

The importance & significance of transparency can never be violated, as transparency is something that always needs to be created. Transparency always helps manage the pathways to success for both the employees & the employer.

IT’S A MANAGEMENT FAILURE, NOT ANY INDIVIDUAL’S FAILURE:

The failure to use the talent best to the abilities is a management’s big failure rather than the failure of any individual. Therefore, it’s the management’s role to be flexible according to the talent of the individuals as they know where the person belongs well. ‘Everyone is gifted, but some people never open their packages.’ However, it’s the eye of the entrepreneur or a business owner to know how to use or utilize a certain person according to the demands of the company & the demands of the management.

Who will be justifying the calibre of an individual? It’s your core responsibility as you are the one running the umbrella & responsible for what people do & how people think in your company.

TALENT IDENTIFICATION IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR RUNNING A BUSINESS:

You are doing a business where you need a lawnmower, i.e. a machine for cutting the grass daily for your premises. You are using the lawnmower every day & you suddenly forget that it needs to be given the scheduled maintenance. You might be undergoing a loss scenario if you keep on ignoring the maintenance needed for your lawnmower. Similarly, for the smooth running of your business, one needs to have an eye that is vital for the raw identification of talent. Here, what’s the priority is first. It would help if you were a giver with your attitude. Give time & resources so that you can adapt talent & hold it.

As a person responsible for absolutely everything, you must set directions for someone exceeding their benchmarks. It’s the set benchmark that the person is exceeding, which means he is going beyond boundaries. You must figure out what needs to be done if they are going beyond boundaries.

As per an old saying, “Man is known by the company he keeps”, stick around with talented people & keep looking how they can be an asset to you. What good you can extract from them, & how well you can use their talent. Talent management is one of the most important aspects for accomplishing goals & vitally to keep performing well in the business world. It expands a person’s vision, and as a businessman, you are gifted with recognizing someone’s good qualities rather than just looking at their weaknesses. Always helps in identifying key strengths.
