Foreword
This Council has a strong track record in both economic development and regeneration. The council is working tirelessly with partners such as the Sheffield City Region LEP and D2N2 LEPs in order to deliver economic growth across the District. We have recently published a Growth Plan which clearly articulates our economic aspirations.
We have put a great deal of effort into the Invest in North Nottinghamshire project which is literally about putting Bassetlaw on the map. Led by the local business community, the objective is to help to create a place brand for Bassetlaw. This will be used to position the District as an attractive place to work, invest, visit and live thereby increasing new business investment, increased visitor numbers and residents’ appreciation of the locality's distinctiveness.
This project will shape Bassetlaw’s future, attracting new businesses, helping to redress the current low business stock, low level of enterprise and low level of business investment into the area.
The Council has also established Growth Teams drawn from existing staff whose objective is to attract investment into the district and help facilitate business growth and housing through working with partners and other departments within the Council.
All of this activity demonstrates our commitment to supporting, developing and attracting business to Bassetlaw and we look forward to working with you in partnership in the future.
