The jewels in the crown of the MB92 Group are the 220m Panamax dry dock at our Barcelona shipyard and the 200m dry dock located in La Ciotat. Both sites are supported by world class facilities and have been honored to host a wide range of projects including many of the global superyacht fleet’s most prestigious vessels. Alongside the dry docks at MB92 Barcelona and MB92 La Ciotat, each has synchrolift availability, capable of lifting vessels of up to 85m LOA and 2,000 tons onto the hard-standing areas.

Specialists Operating as a key part of the Production Department, our very own Dry Dock team manages all dry dock work. Specialist technicians with experience of successfully launching hundreds of superyacht projects, the team works alongside global experts to perform any kind of dry dock work required, including:

– Shaft line works: shaft removal/ inspection & reconditioning; pitch and fix propellers; couplings; bearings; etc.

– All types of propeller manoeuvring (retractable, rim-driven thrusters)

– Rudder work

– Stabilizer work on all available types and systems (gyro stabilizers, stabilizer fins, MagLift)

– Paint works: from regular anti fouling re-application to complete removal (blasting) of the paint scheme and new application

– Anodes and current impress protection

– Overboard hull valves

– NDT tests (liquid penetrant testing, x-ray, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, etc.)

– Galvanizing In line and on time All work conducted at our facilities is carried out in strict accordance with Class requirements and ISO policy. Further to industry standards, we have developed our own strict controls. Testing against these acceptance criteria ensures that our clients leave the dry dock with absolute confidence in the work completed.

A critical component of all dry dock work is timing. Being able to coordinate projects of magnitude or complexity within the strictest of schedules is critical to not only the individual project but to all those clients scheduled to enter the dock subsequently. Our team successfully delivers in excess of 50 projects every year. With greater demand for dry dock works, our shiplift provides even more flexibility and opportunities to clients.

A. Syncrolift Our 2,000t Lloyd’s-certified Syncrolift hoists vessels up to 70m LOA and transfers to one of seven hard-standing slots. Tugs and shore crew are available to assist with safe manoeuvre. B. 4,800T Shiplift The facility occupies over 24,000m2, allowing access for 9 superyachts of 115m LOA at any one time. C. Office & workshops Our 11,200m2 main building houses our administrative offices, warehouse and numerous specialist workshops. There are 2,500m2 of warehousing with storage, shipping and receiving, ideally suited to paints and materials.
