There are approximately 6,000 superyachts over 30 metres in length currently in operation worldwide and an increasing number of proven solutions that have the potential to lessen their impact on the environment. Set in the heart of Barcelona, MB92 Barcelona has benefited from a policy of continual investment into its facilities and people over more than 30 years. Specialists in every area of the superyacht project, our team are supported by up to 1,000 contractors on-site during high season to cater to all needs. The facilities in Barcelona cover a total area of 126,000m2 and include:
- 4,800T shiplift capable of hauling up to 9 yachts with lengths of up to 115m onto a versatile hard-standing area of 30,000m2
- 220-metre dry dock
- Syncrolift able to haul out yachts up to 2,000T and 70 metres in length
- 150T travelift
- Docking repair quays with capacity to berth 14 yachts up to a maximum of 220 metres in length
The facilities are ideally located on the beautiful French Riviera, right at the heart of one of the yachting world’s most prestigious cruising zones. Our experienced team, supported by an extensive network of local and international industry specialists, are dedicated to providing award-winning superyacht refit and maintenance.

During the preproject phase, our team can visit the yacht anywhere in the world and work closely with the yacht team to define the project details.

Our project managers have successfully delivered hundreds of projects, ranging from minor repairs to extensive overhauls, including some of the largest refit projects ever undertaken. The ability to adapt to any situation or to the evolving needs of a project during a vessel’s stay in our facilities means that our clients can rest assured that their vessel is in the very best hands.
Each and every member of the production team has undertaken extensive training and is continuously updating their skills in line with the ever-changing demands of the market. This training includes a broad selection of course fields from languages to security systems and waste management to environmental best practice.
Senior project managers have also completed masters courses in project management, in order to better serve our clients and implement the latest management techniques to further improve their skills and those of their team.
Our project management team is deeply committed to delivering projects within the agreed schedule and our rigorous monitoring processes are continuously evolving to improve efficiency. Many of our clients return each year because they trust that their vessel will be back in the water in pristine condition when they need it.
We understand the critical importance of time and that communication throughout the project is vital to its success. Careful coordination between the departments within MB92, external suppliers and yacht crew means we are able to prepare a project schedule well in advance of the vessel’s arrival. This ensures that the project is delivered successfully on time and on budget.
We understand that true customer service does not end with the yacht’s departure from the facilities.
Our After Sales department will remain in contact to assist and provide comprehensive support on a host of issues that may occur following the yard period. Anything from monitoring completed work to negotiating warranty issues or arranging additional work to be carried out, our experienced team are equipped to resolve any request.
Working alongside our global network of suppliers and technical experts, we are able to arrange for work or attendance to the yacht wherever she may be to provide peace of mind and minimise any potential disruption.

Our new Interior Showroom at our Barcelona facilities is the ideal creative environment to become inspired. A relaxing space that showcases the latest in interior design and materials to help bring client visions to life.
Among our haul out solutions are the 220m Panamax dry dock at our Barcelona shipyard and the 200m dry dock located in La Ciotat. Both sites are supported by world class facilities and have been honoured to host a wide range of projects including many of the global superyacht fleet’s most prestigious vessels. Alongside the dry docks at MB92 Barcelona and MB92 La Ciotat, each has shiplift and syncrolift availability, capable of lifting vessels of up to 115m LOA and 2,000T onto the hard-standing areas.
Operating as a key part of the Production Department, our very own Dry Dock team manages all dry dock work. Specialist technicians with experience of successfully launching hundreds of superyacht projects, the team works alongside global experts to perform any kind of dry dock work required, including:
– Shaft line works: shaft removal/ inspection & reconditioning; pitch and fix propellers; couplings; bearings; etc.
– All types of propeller manoeuvring (retractable, rim-driven thrusters)
– Rudder work
– Stabiliser work on all available types and systems (gyro stabilisers, stabiliser fins, MagLift)
– Paint works: from regular anti fouling re-application to complete removal (blasting) of the paint scheme and new application
– Anodes and current impress protection
– Overboard hull valves
– NDT tests (liquid penetrant testing, x-ray, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, etc.)
– Galvanizing
All work conducted at our facilities is carried out in strict accordance with Class requirements and ISO policy. Further to industry standards, we have developed our own strict controls. Testing against these acceptance criteria ensures that our clients leave the dry dock with absolute confidence in the work completed.
A critical component of all dry dock work is timing. Being able to coordinate projects of magnitude or complexity within the strictest of schedules is critical. Our team successfully delivers in excess of 50 projects every year. With greater demand for dry dock works, our haul out solutions provide even more flexibility and opportunities to clients.
Our 2,000T Lloyd’s-certified Syncrolift hoists vessels up to 70m LOA and transfers to one of seven hard-standing slots. Tugs and shore crew are available to assist with safe manoeuvring.
The facility occupies over 30,000m2 , allowing access for 9 superyachts of 115m LOA at any one time.
Our 11,200m2 main building houses our administrative offices, warehouse and numerous specialist workshops. There are 2,500m2 of warehousing with storage, shipping and receiving, ideally suited to paints and materials.
Our 200m by 60m dry dock is able to haul out up to 4 superyachts at any one time with full shore services including gantry cranes (250T and 600T), shore power, cooling and fresh water supply, and high-speed internet.
Our offices and workshops house a number of local and international specialists and service providers. Our crew facilities include a crew lounge as well as additional office space available for client use fully equipped with highspeed internet.
The high-tech Rexroth hydraulic lift and transportation system can lift and move vessels up to 2,000T displacement or around 85m into their position on the hard-standing area.
The perfect addition to our existing range of dry-docking solutions for vessels between 30 and 200 metres LOA, allowing us to triple our capacity for superyachts up to 115 metres LOA.
Our dedicated refit facility for yachts up to 300T includes 14,000m2 of hardstanding space and a 50m paint cabin. The area also includes full service connections and amenities.

The safety and well-being of everyone working or visiting the shipyard is of the utmost importance. Our health and safety department has worked tirelessly to instill an approach to work and life in the facilities that promotes a “safety first” mentality.
Implementation of the strictest of safety measures is maintained and monitored first hand by our team, who also manage the authorisation and adherence to all dangerous work, such as hot work, operations in confined spaces and work aloft.
The key to success is knowledge and understanding. Regular courses covering a range of issues for both newcomers and the experienced mean that every member of our team is aware of their responsibilities.
With over 300,000 people passing through the access gates during a typical season representing a total of 600 different companies and thousands of workers from all over the world working on board or visiting, it is vital that vigilance standards are to the highest level. As well as being fully compliant with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), we have developed a series of controls to ensure that any person coming to the shipyards is properly vetted and approved.
Privacy and confidentiality agreements are a key requirement for all activities being undertaken at each MB92 Group site. Our clients feel assured that their privacy is held with the utmost regard during their stay.

The sea is our passion. We take our responsibility to ensure that future generations are able to share in this passion seriously, and have been working towards more sustainable practices for several years.
In 2020, we decided to go further and make sustainability one of our principal strategic pillars across both shipyards. The result is an ambitious 5-year sustainability plan focused on six key areas:
– Reducing the shipyards’ carbon footprint
– Reducing combustible gas emissions
– Minimising non-recoverable waste
– Improving port and sea water quality
– Reducing VOC emissions
– Improving social responsibility
Since then, some of the key advances have included the completion of our electrification project in Barcelona, meaning all yachts staying at any of our Group facilities are connected to shore power supplied by 100% green energy sources. We have also reduced VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions by 97% across the MB92 Group through the implementation of innovative technology.
We have also made progress in waste management with plastic being a particular area of focus. Initiatives such as a re-use scheme for plastic protections and improved waste segregation have contributed to developing a culture of greater waste responsibility at each site.
All processes are undertaken to minimise impact to our environment and we have achieved ISO9001 in MB92 Barcelona (currently in process at MB92 La Ciotat), ISO 14001 certificates for quality and environment.
In 2019, MB92 Barcelona added the ISO50001 certificate for energy management as part of our ongoing commitment to improving energy efficiency in every work procedure that we do.
In 2019, MB92 became an anchor partner of the Water Revolution Foundation and in 2022, MB92 La Ciotat became corporate members of the Sea Index. We are proud to work alongside organisations who are taking the lead to neutralise superyachting’s ecological footprint and preserve the world’s precious oceans.
