Thank you

for joining us

for our 27th annual Starlight Ball,
to the Starlight Ball Light Within The

T onight, we shine a spotlight on the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation and Lisa and Peter Wallberg, as we gather to raise funds to support MPAC’s education programs. Your enthusiastic support at our Starlight Ball truly makes a difference in the lives of so many children in our community whose lifelong love of the arts is nurtured through participation in our programs.

We are honored to present The Starlight Award to the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation. Cliff and Mimi Washington Starrett called Morristown home for more than 50 years, and their legacy continues to strengthen our community through the Foundation’s support of local non-profits in the arts, social services and more.

We are also thrilled to honor Lisa and Peter Wallberg with the John T. Cunningham Award. Lisa and Peter’s dedication and passion for our community have been felt far and wide. As longtime Starlight Society members and through their tireless work on the Starlight Ball Committee and Development Committee, respectively, they truly embody the spirit of service to MPAC.

We offer a heartfelt thank you to our Diamond, Sapphire, Gold, and Star Sponsors for their incredible generosity. We are also deeply grateful to our remarkable Starlight Ball Co-Chairs, Committee, and staff, whose hard work made this spectacular evening a reality.

We look forward to spending an amazing and wonderful evening with you tonight. Thank you again for your generous support!

The Starlight Award

The Mayo Performing Arts Center is thrilled to present the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation with the 2025 Starlight Award in recognition of their extraordinary support and dedication to our organization. The Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation is a grantmaking foundation supporting nonprofit organizations that have a meaningful impact on the well-being and economic development of the greater Morris County community, including those that address issues surrounding health, addiction, and homelessness; animal welfare; equal education opportunities; access to the arts; and environmental and historical preservation. They envision a philanthropic space in which nonprofit organizations, the lives they touch and causes they support, hold trust and power in the communities in which they are creating lasting impact.

Beyond their grantmaking initiatives, they create opportunities for connection, learning, and collaboration with grantee partners, nonprofit organizations, peer funders, and community members. Guided by the belief that we are stronger together, they provide resources that enable those in the field to share knowledge, support one another, and advance the goal of building a healthier, more equitable community for all.

Morristown was home to Cliff and Mimi Washington Starrett for more than 50 years where they were active members of the community, including supporting and enjoying MPAC performances for many years. As a stained-glass artist, Mimi was vibrant and exuberant. She loved being an active member of a community where she could support causes close to her heart while enjoying all the community had to offer. She and Cliff were lifelong supporters of the arts, and we are honored to pay tribute to their dedication and passion.

The Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation celebrates the Mayo Performing Arts Center and its determination to bring the performing arts and arts education to everyone in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Mayo Performing Arts Center applauds the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation’s support of MPAC and the far-reaching impact that they have on our community.

John T. Cunningham Award

Lisa and Peter Wallburg

Lisa and Peter Wallburg have dedicated their professional expertise and personal passions to strengthening the community around them.

Peter enjoyed a distinguished career of more than 30 years in the banking and financial industry, recently retiring as Senior Managing Director of Peapack Private. He previously held leadership positions at BNY Mellon and Chemical Bank, where he successfully guided teams and managed portfolios. A proud graduate of Muhlenberg College with an A.B. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Finance from Seton Hall University, Peter is equally dedicated to giving back through his volunteer work. He serves as a member of the Development Committee at MPAC, he was Past Chairman of the NJ North Board of Junior Achievement and Past President of the Hanover Township Youth League Ice Hockey. He is also a past member of the NJPAC Business Round Table and a former Lecturer at Montclair State University.

Lisa is a recently retired attorney who spent more than 20 years as a Dispute Resolution Professional, following her work as in-house litigation counsel for CIGNA. She earned her undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College and her J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Lisa has been a dedicated community leader, serving as co-chair of MPAC’s Starlight Ball Committee, Membership Renewal Chair for Impact100 Garden State, and in leadership roles with her parish at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel. She has also been deeply engaged in her sons’ schools, supporting PTA, marching band and theater programs.

Lisa and Peter met as undergraduates at Muhlenberg College and are the proud parents of two sons, Christopher and Daniel. Together, they embody the spirit of service, philanthropy and community leadership. Their generosity of time, talent, and resources has strengthened countless organizations and made an enduring impact on MPAC’s mission to enrich lives through the power of performance.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center is deeply grateful to Lisa and Peter Wallburg for their generosity and the lasting impact they have on our community.
