About MPAC

Mayo Performing Arts Center is where our community comes together to be inspired, entertained and uplifted by the power and the passion of the performing arts. Through our world-class main-stage performances, education programs, visual arts galleries, community engagement events and more, over 220,000 people engage with the arts through MPAC programs each year. We also drive over $18 million back into our local economy annually!

Education

MPAC strives to make the performing arts a vital component of every child’s upbringing, and to spark a lifelong interest in music, dance and culture. Through our Performing Arts School, teen Performing Arts Company, annual spring musical, field trip shows, student recognition programs and school residency programs, thousands of school-age children and their families annually participate in MPAC arts experiences.

Community

MPAC brings the performing arts beyond our walls through Community Engagement programs such as our annual Theatre of Light, free summer concerts, Creative Aging senior program and arts participation events that connect MPAC with the greater Morristown community.

The Arts & Well-Being

We are thrilled to announce that Atlantic Health has been named MPAC’s Official Health & Wellness Partner!

Like exercise and good nutrition, the arts have health benefits. Whether it is through viewing a live performance, or arts participation through a class, the arts add value to quality of life and an individual’s health and wellness, improving overall well-being, reducing stress, and enhancing mental health.

Performing arts learning experiences for students can strengthen academic skills development, improve overall school performance, and help to develop social and emotional skills, including teamwork, empathy, and self-expression.

Arts programs help older adults lower their overall risk of dementia and disease, and maintain their independence. In fact, participating in the arts supports both mental and physical health!

This new partnership with Atlantic Health will highlight the many ways our organizations are working to keep our community healthy, happy and well!
