This global gathering of tall ships and military vessels was created to kick off the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States. DAY 3 Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin and Norfolk Botanical Garden: Begin the day at Nauticus, the maritime discovery center where you will immerse yourself in the world of sailing and the U.S. Navy. Interactive exhibits, the sailing center and the Schooner Virginia tell the story of the maritime environment, industry and the military. Step aboard the battleship Wisconsin, the largest and last battleship ever built by the U.S. Then, make a stop at the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial before coming to the Norfolk Botanical Garden, Virginia’s premier nature experience. From its humble beginnings the garden has grown to a 175-acre garden filled with thousands of blooming flowers and plants. DAY 4 Parade of Sail Norfolk, Fort Monroe and Virginia Air and Hampton Harbor Cruise: Travel to Fort Monroe this morning to take your reserved spots to witness the incredible Sail250® Virgina’s “Parade of Sail.” Sit back, relax while taking in this milestone occasion. Witness the sailing of a fleet of the world’s most magnificent international tall ships and military ships in an epic peacetime gathering. 3 National Cherry Blossom Parade and Mount Vernon: Attend the National Cherry Blossom parade, which celebrates the blooming of the Japanese Cherry trees planted around the Tidal Basin. The beauty and aroma of these blossoming cherry trees will amaze as you enjoy the National Cherry Blossom Parade from reserved grandstand seats. Marching down Constitution Avenue, the parade showcases floats, helium balloons, international performance groups and some of the country’s finest marching bands. This afternoon, visit George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. Explore his mansion filled with 18th-century treasures and stroll the gardens Washington himself designed. DAYS 1 & 2 Off to West Virginia: Enjoy an overnight and welcome dinner in Kentucky before coming to the luxurious Greenbrier Resort. Here, you will have lunch at the Greenbrier Golf Club before embarking on a tour of the now declassified “Bunker” hidden beneath the resort and intended to secure US lawmakers from nuclear attack during the cold war era. In Lewisburg, dinner is at a small-town restaurant serving up big town American cuisine. (2 Dinners, lunch and breakfast)
DAY 3 Ride the Cass Scenic Railroad : Travel through the rugged West Virginia mountains to the picturesque town of Cass which has remained unchanged since its founding in 1901. Here, board the Cass Scenic Railroad for a ride to Bald Knob, the third highest point in the state. Feel the rumble and hear the hiss of the restored steam locomotive as you travel up the mountain, through two switchbacks to view the open fields and Whitaker Station. Enjoy your sack lunch as you climb the mountain. Then, check in to your hotel for the next two nights. (Breakfast and box lunch)
DAY 4 Greenbrier Wilderness Train, Green Bank Radio Observatory and Timber Baron House : Travel to Cass this morning to board West Virginia’s newest scenic train.
Enjoy an exciting excursion into the wilderness of the Greenbrier River Valley aboard the Greenbrier Wilderness Train. Be on the lookout for the bald eagles, osprey, black bears and coyotes which inhabit the area. Enjoy your included lunch onboard the train. Cross to the next valley filled with satellite dishes. This is the Green Bank Observatory where you will tour the facility. Tonight, dinner is included at Halliehurst Mansion. Built in 1890 by oil and timber baron Stephen Benton Elkins, the mansion features a wrap-around porch and is punctuated with towers, turrets, dormers and chimneys. (Breakfast, box lunch and dinner)
DAY 5 New Tygart Flyer and Gandy Dancer Theater:
This morning climb aboard the New Tygart Flyer for a wilderness excursion. The Flyer climbs along the cascading Shavers Fork of the Cheat River to the High Falls, accessible only by train. There is also a unique “S” curve tunnel, a bridge and unspoiled mountain views. A box lunch is included on the train. Dinner tonight includes live entertainment of the Tribute to Musical Legends Dinner Show at the Gandy Dancer Theater where performers pay tribute to Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash. DAY 4 Tybee Island and Historic Savannah: This morning it’s off to Tybee Island to visit the lighthouse that has been the
guardian of the Savannah River since 1736. Visit the museum that features exhibits of early life on the island, and if you are feeling adventurous, take the exhilarating walk up the 154-foottall lighthouse. Later, the streets of Savannah are waiting to be discovered at your own leisurely pace. Your Tour Manager will make suggestions for things to do in this city of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Forrest Gump fame. Marking the 100th Anniversary of the “Mother Road”
DAY 1 Route 66 in Illinois: Begin the journey along Historic Route 66 with a photo stop at the Old Joliet Prison before coming face to face with the legendary Gemini Giant. Then stop in Dwight to see the historic Ambler/Becker Texaco Station. In Atlanta, a 19-foot tall Paul Bunyon greets you and outside St. Louis you will stop at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge which spans the mighty Mississippi River. Tonight, enjoy the Manager’s Kickback Reception. (Drury Kickback Reception)
DAY 2 Gateway Arch, Ted Drewes and Mississippi Cruise: Visit the Gateway Arch National Park including the Museum of Western Expansion and the Gateway Arch which stands at over 600 feet before taking to the water for a narrated cruise along the Mississippi River. Stop at Ted Drewes Frozen Custard, a Route 66 favorite, for a tasty treat. Then visit the National Museum of Transportation and see why it is considered one of the largest collections of transportation vehicles in the world, including the Bobby Darin “Dream Car” and the rare Chrysler Turbine Car. Tonight, dinner is at Favazza’s on the Hill. (Breakfast and dinner)
DAY 3 Route 66 in Missouri: Begin the day with a drive through Lone Elk Park a wildlife management area home to bison, wild turkey, elk and deer. Near Stanton, stop at Meramec Caverns, a complex cavern system formed from the erosion of large limestone deposits over millions of years. See the rare and colorful mineral formations as well as pre-Columbian Native
American artifacts. Later, stop at the Fanning 66 Outpost and see the over 42-foot tall Red Rocking Chair, once named the largest in the world. (Breakfast and dinner)
DAY 4 Route 66 in Kansas: Just a short 13-mile stretch of historic Route 66 runs through Kansas. In Galena, make a photo stop at the Kan-O-Tex Service Station to see the rusty old tow truck that inspired the character “Tow Mater” for the animated movie series Cars. In Baxter Springs, stop into the Route 66 Visitors Center to see the exhibits and visit the gift shop. West of Riverton, cross the famed “Rainbow Bridge,” a single-span concrete Marsh arch bridge spanning Brush Creek and sole surviving bridge of this type on the entire length of Route 66. DAY 5 Will Rogers and JM Davis Arms Museum: Begin the day at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. The museum features the largest collection of Will Rogers memorabilia in the world. The collection includes writings, photographs, artifacts and speeches. There are movies starring Rogers in the theatre and his tomb is on the grounds. Later, visit the JM Davis Arms Museum, home to the unique collection of J.M. Davis featuring over 12,000 firearms, Old West saddles and spurs, John Rogers statuary, Toby mugs and Beer Steins. A photo stop is made at the Blue Whale of Catoosa, one of most recognizable attractions on old Route 66. (Breakfast and dinner)

DAY 6 Amelia Earhart Birthplace and St Joseph: Depart Oklahoma and cross into Kansas to visit the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Home in Atchison. This historic building and museum is the birthplace of aviator Amelia Earhart overlooking the Missouri River. Tonight, take advantage of the Drury Inn’s Manager’s Kickback Reception. DAY 7 Pony Express Museum, Walt Disney and Mark Twain: Visit the Pony Express Museum to learn the history of the first fast mail line across the continent and hear the stories of these amazing riders. In Marceline, visit the Walt Disney Hometown Museum which houses a collection of memorabilia from the Disney’s family farm where they lived from 1905 to 1909. In Hannibal, visit the Mark Twain Boyhood Home, a National Historic Landmark, along with Becky Thatcher’s House, Huckleberry Finn House and the newly restored Grant’s Drugstore. (Breakfast and lunch)
DAY 8 Abraham Lincoln and Frank Lloyd Wright: Visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum which documents the life of the 16th U.S. president followed by a stop at Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site to see where a young Lincoln lived and worked. Later, tour the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Dana-Thomas House, a Prairie-style home was built in 1902-1904. In the evening visit the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Legends Neon Park where re-creations or restorations of neon signs of past Route 66 businesses brightly glow. (Breakfast and dinner)
DAY 9 The Old Brick Road and Home: Before departing town, make a photo stop at Shea’s Gas Station. Then, you will take a drive down a 1.4 mile-long stretch of restored hand-laid brick road segment of the original Route 66. DAY 1 Chicago Sightseeing and Travel to Michigan: Begin with a panoramic tour of downtown Chicago with a local guide. Later, depart for Michigan and arrive in Holland at the height of their annual Tulip Festival. Visit VeldheerDeKlomp Tulip Gardens, Holland’s only tulip farm ablaze with acres of tulips in brilliant color in a Dutch setting of windmills, drawbridges and canals. DAY 2 Holland Tulip Time Festival: This morning return to Holland and visit the Windmill Island Gardens to see “De Zwaan,” a working windmill over 240 years old. Also see a miniature Netherlands Village, candle-making shop and an antique carousel with hand carved and painted wooden horses. This afternoon, see the Quality Car Wash Volksparade. How to Make a Reservation
Phone, fax or visit our website - or call your travel professional. Please provide the full first and last names of travelers as it appears on passport and include address, phone number, tour name and departure date. Space will be held until deposit is received which is due within five business days after making your reservation.
All deposits and final payments can be made by check or credit card. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
Prices Subject to Change
We reserve the right to vary itineraries and prices and substitute facilities, hotels or events of equal or better quality if necessary.
Guaranteed Share Program for Single Travelers
If you are traveling alone and would like a roommate for cost savings, let us know at the time of booking your reservation. Travelers must be non-smokers, cannot use a medical sleeping device or have specific needs like Handicapped room etc. to be eligible. Participants will be paired with another traveler of the same gender at the twin rate. If no roommate is available, you will get a single room at the twin rate. Guaranteed share reservations are available 180 days prior to tour departure.
Roommate Cancellation
If you are booked as a “twin” and your roommate cancels their reservation, and you cannot find another roommate, you may either travel as a guaranteed share (see above) or travel as a single and pay the single supplement.
Health and Walking on Tour
Some sites visited have limited motorcoach access and may involve considerable walking, stairs or inclines. Travelers should be in reasonably good health. Some programs include destinations in higher elevations that may have varying effects on individual travelers. Tour Managers and Coach Drivers cannot lift or assist travelers into transportation vehicles. Mayflower Cruises & Tours requires that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the assistance.
Revision Fees
A fee of $25 per person per transaction will be charged for any changes, revisions or alterations made to your reservation after confirmation.
Luggage Handling
The tour cost includes porterage for one average size suitcase. A charge of $10 per hotel will be collected by the Tour Manager for each additional piece of luggage that you bring.
Travel Documents
Your travel documents will be in your possession approximately 14 days prior to departure. Documents include a tour itinerary, departure and arrival information and times, hotel and ship information, clothing suggestions, baggage tags, plus any helpful hints.
Mayflower Loyalty Program, First Time Traveler and Referral Rewards
Earn $50 travel credit for every Guided Holiday by Motorcoach taken with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. No restrictions to the amount of credits an individual can acquire. Loyalty Credits can be apply to any reservation made within one year of the return of the tour they were earned on. Multiple credits can be used on a single tour. Credits are nontransferable but can be combined with Referral Rewards and Mayflower promotional savings.*
First Time Travelers earn $25 to be applied to their first reservation with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. Available at the request of individual tour members, the savings can be combined with other offers at the time of your reservation.
With Mayflower’s Referral Rewards program you can earn hundreds of travel dollars when you refer a friend to us. Here is how it works – refer a friend that is NEW to Mayflower Cruises & Tours and you will earn up to a $100 Travel savings when your friend makes a reservation and pays the deposit on a tour that is 5 days or longer. The Travel savings is per friend. If you bring in a couple that is new to Mayflower – you will earn $100 x 2 = $200 in savings. You can apply these savings on upcoming tours* you have with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. Your Friend also gets a First Time Traveler savings of $100. *Some restrictions apply, call for details.
Smoke Free Environment
Although smoking is not allowed on the motorcoach, frequent rest/smoking stops are made.
Travelers with Special Needs
You must advise Mayflower at the time your booking is made of any disability requiring special attention. Mayflower will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of our travelers. Be aware that the Americans with Disabilities Act is applicable only within the United States and that accommodations for disabled travelers outside the United States may be more limited. If a traveler requires assistance, we require that he/she be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the assistance. Neither Mayflower personnel, nor its suppliers, may lift or physically assist travelers. If a traveler thinks he/she might need assistance during a trip, he/she should call Mayflower to determine what assistance might reasonably be provided. If special arrangements are provided, and these arrangements add to the Tour Operator’s cost, the Tour Member will be responsible to pay the additional costs. Mayflower cannot provide special individual assistance to travelers with special needs for walking, dining or other routine activities.
Membership
Mayflower reserves the right to withhold tour membership, or to require any traveler to leave a tour at any time, when such action is determined by Mayflower to be in the best interests of the traveler or the tour group. Children must be at least ten years of age and accompanied at all times by a guardian.
Responsibility
These tour programs are operated by Mayflower Cruises & Tours, Inc. 650 Warrenville Rd, Suite 500, Lisle, IL 60532. In common with other companies, Mayflower acts only as an agent for Tour Members in arranging room accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, admissions and restaurants. Mayflower reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes in the itinerary and is not responsible for expenses, loss of time, money or other occurrence resulting from a change of tour scheduling made for Tour Members. Mayflower reserves the right to accept, decline or retain any person as a member of the tour, and is not responsible for any losses or damages of personal property, or for injuries, expenses or damages incurred by any Tour Member.
Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of Force Majeure . “Force Majeure” means any event which we or the supplier of the services in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid.
United States Tour Operators Association
$1 Million Travelers Assistance Program
Mayflower Cruises & Tours, Inc. shares the coverage available under the United States Tour Operators Association (“USTOA”) $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program with affiliates of Mayflower Cruises & Tours who, as an Active Member of the USTOA is required to post $1 Million with USTOA to be used to reimburse, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the USTOA Travelers Assistance Program, the advance payments of Mayflower Cruises & Tours travelers in the unlikely event of Mayflower Cruises & Tours bankruptcy, insolvency or cessation of business. Further, you should understand that the $1 Million posted by Mayflower Cruises & Tours may be sufficient to provide only a partial recovery of the advance payments received by Mayflower Cruises & Tours. Tour Activity Level
Travelers should be in reasonably good health. Please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice.
1. This program has a leisurely pace with minimal activity such as climbing stairs, boarding the motorcoach and walking within the hotels and ships.
2. Average physical activity on this program requires the ability to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, sometimes over uneven surfaces.
3 A blend of longer and shorter touring days with walking tours. Expect more of the touring to be over uneven surfaces and involve more stairs.

Listed below is a schedule of non-refundable deposit and final payment due dates. You will note that the first category includes an optional Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW) which is to be paid within five business days after your reservation. Refund and Cancellation Policy
All payments for land arrangements (less the deposit amount which is non-refundable) will be refunded when cancellations are made prior to final payment of the tour. If you purchase the optional Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW), you will be refunded all payments including the deposit amount, less the premium amount for the CFW provided we are notified of the cancellation prior to the day of departure.
Should you choose not to purchase our Cancellation Fee Waiver, the following per person cancellation amounts will be charged:

Exclusions
Mayflower Cruises & Tours reserves the right to alter its Refund and Cancellation Policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: conditions resulting from an act of God, natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of Mayflower Cruises & Tours.
What is Not Included on the Tour
Excess luggage charges; items of a personal nature; meals not included on the itinerary; sightseeing attractions listed as “optional excursions;” and gratuities to the Tour Manager, motorcoach driver, van or limo driver and local guides.
Entry into Canada
A valid US passport is required for entry into Canada. No other documents will be accepted. Non US citizens must have a valid passport, visa or alien card which permits entry into these areas. In addition they will need a “multiple entry” visa for return to U.S.
Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW) Motorcoach Tours
To protect you against cancellation fees should you have to cancel your tour or interrupt your tour en route, we have added an optional Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW) in our deposit schedule. The CFW is non-refundable and non-transferable. The CFW cannot be transferred to another reservation, departure date or tour after booking has been made. Changing an existing booking to another date or tour will result in losing the CFW premium paid on the original booking. If you do not wish to purchase the CFW, simply deposit the “without CFW” amount. This non-refundable fee waives all cancellation fees and penalties, provided we are notified of the cancellation one day before your tour departs. While on tour, if a passenger must leave early due to a personal illness, illness or death of a member of the immediate family
or a traveling companion, the purchase of the Cancellation Fee Waiver guarantees full refund for any unused services. For motorcoach tours, return transportation will be provided (the mode of transportation will be determined at the discretion of Mayflower Cruises & Tours.)The injury or sickness must be, in the written opinion of a physician, so disabling as to cause a trip to be interrupted and must require the care and attendance by a physician at the place of occurrence.
This program has certain exclusions. Mayflower Cruises & Tours reserves the right to alter its Refund and Cancellation Policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: conditions resulting from an act of God, natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of Mayflower Cruises & Tours.
Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW) is not an insurance. It is a self-funded refund and waiver program for cancellations and early departures from tour programs, and contains various exclusions. If actual insurance coverage is desired for occurrences such as travel delay; lost, stolen or damaged luggage; medical and emergency medical transportation; supplier default; or related services, then it is strongly recommended that a traveler contact a travel insurance company. It is also recommended if a traveler desires a trip cancellation refund program not funded by Mayflower Cruises & Tours, that a travel insurance company be contacted. One firm offering some or all of these services is Trip Assure Travel Insurance Plan (1-800-423-3632).
