MJS Teacher Packages

TENNIS AND LUNCH WITH MRS. MURPHY One lucky winner and one friend will get to play tennis and enjoy lunch with Mrs. Murphy! They will play a half hour tennis game at the Altadena Town and Country Club courts, followed by lunch and ice cream outdoors on the Club terrace. Students will be responsible for bringing their own racquets. This outing must take place on a weekday (Tuesday-Friday). Both students must be members of the same cohort.

One winner and one friend will spend a spooky evening with Mrs. Mercado and Mrs. Ramirez at the 2021 Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, located at Griffith Park's Old Zoo! Transportation to be determined and agreed upon by all parties. The event will take place Fall 2021: dates TBD and mutually agreed upon between parties depending on Haunted Hayride schedule. Restricted to 7th and 8th Grades (current 6th grader is permitted since activity will take place in the Fall). All students must be from the same cohort. Donated by Mrs. Mercado and Mrs. Ramirez. "VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR!" WITH MRS. BYRNE One winner and up to three friends in their same cohort can become rock stars! You will stay after school on a mutually agreed upon date and make your own MTV style music video with Mrs. Byrne! Bring your own costumes, props, etc. and you will be transformed into a totally awesome music group! Mrs. Byrne will direct, film, and edit together your video so you can share it with all your fans! All students must be members of the same cohort.

MINECRAFT MAYHEM WITH MRS. SEARS AND MRS. WIRTH (LOWER SCHOOL) One winner and four friends will have a 1.5 hour Minecraft gaming session with Mrs. Wirth and Mrs. Sears in their own custom-designed Minecraft world! This package includes a special handmade Minecraft hat for each participant. The gaming session will take place physically-distanced on campus. Date to be mutually agreed upon by all parties. TIE-DYE WITH MR. DOERNING One winner and one friend will spend an hour and a half one afternoon making fun tie-dye creations with Mr. Doerning on the MJS campus! Date must be mutually agreed upon by all parties. Supplies will be provided and students will take their tie-dye projects home to enjoy! All students must be members of the same cohort.

VOICE LESSONS WITH MRS. BOWEN Want to sing like Nat King Cole or Arianna Grande or your favorite musician? It's all possible with voice lessons. One winner will learn to sing his or her favorite song during two 30 minute lessons with Mrs. Bowen. The lessons will be given at Mayfield or virtually on mutually agreed upon dates.

VIRTUAL SLUMBER PARTY WITH MRS. AGUNDEZ! One winner and three friends will join Mrs. Agundez for a virtual slumber party! All slumber party guests will receive a party kit with snacks and goodies for the night of the slumber party, when everyone will play games and watch a movie together on zoom. After saying goodnight, all the slumber party guests will jump back on zoom to have breakfast together the following morning. Party kits will be available for pick up from the MJS campus on an agreed upon date. The slumber party itself will be scheduled for a mutually agreed upon Friday or Saturday evening.

The fun will include playing on the playground, making friendship bracelets, decorating a frame for a keepsake photo, eating pizza and having ice cream for dessert. One lucky student from the KJH cohort can invite three KJH classmates of their choice (for a total of four students). ART PROJECT WITH MRS. DELGADO One lucky winner and three friends will join Mrs. Delgado outside after school for a colorful, art-filled afternoon! Each student will receive a kit with all the necessary decorating supplies, which will be available for pick up from campus on a mutually agreed upon date. Zoom call to be scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date for 1-2 hours.

WILD THINGS! MAMMAL WORKSHOP AND ZOO TRIP WITH MRS. GARCIA Calling all animal lovers! One winner and three friends will attend an animal workshop lead by Mrs. Garcia to learn about endangered mammal species, followed by a visit to the LA Zoo for hands on learning and nature journaling. The Workshop, will take place on a mutually agreed upon Saturday, either at MJS or virtually on zoom, followed by a visit to the LA Zoo. Parent winner can tag along and help chaperone. This adventure includes Zoo admission. Parents are responsible for transportation to/from MJS and LA Zoo. All students must be from the same cohort. Recommended for ages 9-11.

WORSHIP AND WAFFLES WITH MRS. DORR One lucky winner and two friends will join Mrs. Dorr for Mass at St Philips the Apostle Church, followed by breakfast together at Mrs. Dorr's backyard patio! All students must be from the same cohort. Must be scheduled for a mutually agreed upon Sunday. Drop off at church and pick-up from Mrs. Dorr's must be provided by parents.

Donated by Mrs. Dorr Estimated Value: Priceless PICNIC AND VIRTUAL OLD TOWN TOUR WITH MS. FRAZEE Old Town Pasadena is one of the finest examples of downtown revitalizations in the country. One lucky winner and three guests will join Ms. Frazee for a virtual tour of Old Town, given over Zoom with trained Pasadena Heritage docents to lead you on a virtual walk through the historic district revealing many hidden and unusual architectural details, old alleyways, and historic signs. Following the virtual tour, the group will meet up at Memorial Park for a picnic and a leisurely walk to see in person some of what was discussed in the tour. Dates will be dependent on the monthly Virtual Tour schedule by Pasadena Heritage. Option for in person version of the tour, contingent upon safety guidelines and offerings available from Pasadena Heritage. Winner and guests must be members of the same cohort or household.

CANDYLAND FUN WITH MRS. SPIEGEL One lucky winner and two to three friends will join Mrs. Spiegel after school for a sweet, candy-filled afternoon!
