DIRECTOR As we hit mid February it is a learningful time of year most definitely.

It is also the time of year when we plan for next year. Before getting into long term planning we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the PTSA for putting on an amazing community event with the Bingo and Food Trucks . We are really looking forward to the Friendship Fair in March . Book the 18th of March to be on campus with the family.

Long Term Planning 1) Re-enrollment for the 2017/2018 School Year It is that time of year when we are projecting numbers and making course schedules for the next school year. Can you please take time to fill this form out with your families intentions . It is tremendously helpful for us to know your plans.

2) Start Date for the 2017/2018 School Year Please mark your calendars, book your flights and prepare the kids to wake up early again after a summer break. We have set the first day of school as August 9th, 2017 . New family orientation will be on the 7th and the year·s calendar will be approved this month so you can plan all your dates for the next school year.

3) Innovation Hub We have booked our design partners to come to campus in early March on the

6th and 7th and will be seeking input from parents on the future of learning here at Colegio Maya . Please watch for opportunities to be involved.

DIRECTOR �••'fl 4) Technology for Transformational Learning

As we plan for the 2017/2018 school year we are excited to be rolling out a BYOD 1 :1 program for all secondary students. Our bring your own device program will see all secondary students have a device for improved learning as part of the school supply list. We will provide recommendations for you and full support on good digital citizenship. (See below for the first opportunity). To be apply prepared for the future students will have even greater opportunities for learning through the use of technology moving forward.

Shorter Term Planning 5) HS Selections for 2017/2018

We handed ot the forms for High School course selections at an assembly this week .. Please help your son or daughter choose their learning program for next year.

6) Growing Up Digital Parent Session Please fill this form in if you wish to attend a parent session on digital citizenship

and learn more about how to support your children in this digital age. We will accept responses until Friday February 17th and then set a date and time based on your responses.

7) Colegio Maya Open House

We will host an open house for any interested families on March 9th, 2017.

Anyone wishing to get a closer look at Colegio Maya, our program and admissions procedures are welcome to RSVP to Cecy at cecastillo@cm.edu.gt .

The program will run for the morning and further details will be shared with those who RSVP. Please invite friends to come and see the amazing learning here at Colegio Maya.
