WELCOME TO YOUR EXCLUSIVE GUIDE.

At Mayajoy, we believe in slowing down-just enough to notice the steam floating above your morning coffee, the smell of fresh linen, or the colour of flowers peeking though the window. This guide is a gentle invitation to savour joyful, simple moments. It’s not about doing more- it’s about noticing more. Whether you’re wrapping a bottle of fizz for a friend, preparing to host with a beautifully dressed table, or throwing together a noodle salad with what’s in the fridge, it all adds up to a life that feels a little more...alive. Inside, you’ll find ideas for living with colour, hosting without stress, a nourishing recipe, and a song that might just become your new favourite kitchen companion.

It begins with a moodboard: not a list of products, but of feelingtextures, tones, flavours and sounds that reflect our kind of joy. Use it as inspiration, a vibe check or a colour palette for your next gathering. Let’s begin.

Lots of love,

Our colour swatches are taken from our Paradise stripe apron. Read on to see how you can use these in your home.

T H R E E LIVING WITH COLOUR: A MAYAJOY EDIT

Red: You may have heard of the ‘unexpected red theory’- In colour theory, red is linked to confidence, passion and connection. It’s bold but not brash.

Use it: As a pop in a dining nook, think napkins, cushions, a ceramic jug, or just a bowl of ripe tomatoes on the counter.

Sage Green: Sage soothes. It’s earthy, thoughtful, and calming.

Use it: As a neutral base in your kitchen or add plants around your living space to bring the outdoors, in. Accessorise with living herbs, which are tasty and fragrant.

Golden yellow: This yellow brings warmth and playfulness

Use it: In textiles, flowers or planters. Add contrast to cooler tones like stone or white.

Rose pink: Gentle, romantic, but still a little fun.

Use it: As a napkin, tea towel or in art prints- something that makes your space feel lovingly lived in.

Tip: These 4 colours together make a joyful, energetic combo for any space. Don’t match- layer and clash with intention. Think a mix of patterns & textures.

F O U R A QUICK SALAD THAT FEELS LIKE A TREAT

This is the kind of meal that tricks people into thinking you’ve made an effort- even if it you haven’t. Great for impromptu lunches or dinner when a BBQ turns into ‘let’s just do something easy’

Chicken noodle salad.

Serves 2-3

Ingredients:

2x chicken breasts, butterflied

2 carrots peeled in to strips or cut thinly

2 cups red cabbage, shredded

1 red pepper thinly sliced

2 cups broccoli cut in to small florets

2 spring onions

2 portions of rice noodles

1 lime

¼ cup peanut butter

2tbsp hoisin sauce

1/4tsp rice wine vinegar

1tbsp soy sauce

Garlic seasoning + S&P (or seasonings of choice)

Oil for frying

F I V E METHOD:

1. Firstly let’s make the sauce by mixing peanut butter, hoisin sauce, vinegar, soy sauce & lime juice together. Add ¼ cup water to thin it out.

2. Add your prepared veggies to a couple of bowls and cook noodles following the packet instructions. Use cold water over the noodles when cooked, to stop them sticking.

3. Season chicken with S&P + garlic seasoning or others of your choice and use a griddle pan, lightly sprayed with oil, to cook the chicken.

4. While the chicken cooks, add noodles to the bowls and top with the peanut dressing. Toss to coat everything and then finish with the cooked chicken. Chilli flakes, crushed peanuts and lime wedges are optional.

Enjoy, Lots of love,

Tip: Pair with iced tea with lemon for a non alcohol midweek meal or choose a sparkling wine or minty mojito for a cheeky twist.

RITUALS, WRAPS & MUSIC MOMENTS

Sometimes joy is just a moment that you chose to make room for. Here’s some of our favourite simple rituals:

S I X

The 5 minute reset

Brew your favourite coffee (drink while pottering around the garden if you’re feeling whimsy.

Put on a playlist (The Joy Journal playlist-coming soon)

Light a candle or open a window

Spend 5 minutes to tidy a small corner of your home- a counter, a shelf or even the shoe basket

Choose this to be your soft daily reset, to carry you from mid week to the weekend.

We’re big fans of the last minute gesture that makes you look wildly put together. Try this: Wrap your favourite fizz in a Mayajoy tea towel (fold, roll & tie) and bring it to your next dinner party. It’s gifting, elevated and useful too!

Hosting hack: Keep 1 or 2 fresh tea towels in the drawer- just for moments like this. All you need to worry about is keeping the fizz cold.

Every intentional moment deserves its own playlist. Our track of the moment is currently: Blue Lights by Jorja smith
