In fact, the possibility to set the working wheel rotation speed and direction, the pneumatic pressure, the head speed and the cycle time, ensure the efficiency of the polishing machines AP making it an a highly valued product by all operators in the laboratory. Furthermore it is possible to combine also the Touch Screen fluid dispenser P4T at any time.

This Series is based on the efficiency of their electronic parts, which help the operator in his job. It is possible to set up each step of the polishing cycle, in order to guarantee better results with less efforts. The operator can change the settings during the cycle. The PLC, digital electronic is controlled via touch screen, with the possibility to store up to 150 programs with 10 passwords. The electronic control of the parameters is done with extreme precision in order to determine the repeatability of the programs. The operator can store all the cycle parameters: the working wheel rotational speed and the direction, the pressure of the sample, the cycle time and the control of the water and of the fluids used.

Control Panel EASY! It has only two buttons: START and STOP. The electronic has a basic rule: it controls all the machine cycle

Fluid dispenser The automatic polishing machines TSP have two different systems to distribute the fluids: With pump – Venturi line, which uses the aspiration principle, through a pneumatic valve and distributes on the working wheel the diamond suspensions and the fluids in a homogeneous way.

With a peristaltic pump, which is useful to distribute the fluids and the diamond solutions, but also the high solutions density, like alumina, colloidal silica etc..

The fluid distribution is made by drip.

POLISHING Purpose of the opera on is to remove the altera ons produced on the sample in the previous phases, to obtain a mirror surface, necessary for the observa on with an op cal microscope.

The mechanical polishing consists in lightly pressing the sample surface on a rota ng wheel where there is the cloth soaked in abrasive par cles in suspension in a liquid or paste, mixed with extender.

Generally are used, in descending order, three differents grain sizes of diamond (6, 3, 1 µ), in liquid suspension or in paste, combined with cloths with differents surfaces and ssues.

The diamond allows a fast material removal and guarantees the maintenance of its planarity. Thanks to its hardness, the diamond offers excellent results, unreachable from any other type of abrasive material.

Also in this step it is essen al the intermediate cleaning of the sample, in order to avoid contamina ons, and it is suggested, always for the same reason, to appropriately store the cloth.

In the polishing step are used, also, suitable thinners for each type of diamond abrasive, useful to facilitate the transi on of the sample on the cloth, avoiding possible fric ons.

Once polishing is ul mated, the sample should be washed carefully with running water, and degreased with ethyl alcohol, then quickly dried with a jet of hot air.

As for the grinding step, for the polishing of samples it is possible to use either automa c or manual polishing machines.
