WELCOME

Here we all are, back at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards - and in their rightful April timeslot, to celebrate the achievements of the last 12 months in the brand and lifestyle licensing space.

O

ver the pandemic The B&LLAs were moved seven times before we finally managed to hold a real physical event last October. Thankfully we are all back on course now.

The stellar line up of B&LLAs 2022 finalists are a true reflection not only of the innovation within the sector, but also of the ever evolving changes in consumer behaviour. The expansion of food and beverage licensed activity is a prime example of this, echoing the growth of food and drink sales over the various lockdowns perpetuated by the continued pattern of working from home.

Also, having been starved of culture for so long, with museums and heritage sites having been closed for such extended periods over the last few years, we have all

embraced their reopening and responded positively to the engaging marketing initiatives from so many of these cultural icons.

Meanwhile our appreciation of nature, be it in our tended gardens and local parks or the wilder countryside, as well as driving necessity to protect our planet has also seen the consumer want to affiliate themselves with brands and companies that resonate on the sustainability front.

And of course licensed brands and licensed products would be shouting in the dark without a retailing landscape that presents them to the consumer as evidenced by the brand licensing elevation

from leading grocers through to specialists.

The B&LLAs team feels incredibly proud to be able to bring all the crucial elements of licensor, licensee, retailer and trade suppliers - together today in celebration of the collective achievements.
