Excitement builds for PG Live 2019 Every year the excitement surrounding PG Live seems to begin earlier and earlier and 2019 is no different! Building on last year’s incredible tenth anniversary show was always going to be a challenge, but this year’s show is already shaping up to be something very special indeed. In fact, that famous PG Live buzz has already started; the @PGLiveLondon Instagram feed is full of exhibitors giving sneak previews of the lines they’ll be launching at the show and we’re doing our best to make sure you can see as many of these as possible. Of course, the fast-moving nature of social media means that’s not always possible, so we have also produced this fabulous preview which will give you just a small glimpse of what’s going on behind the scenes as over 230 exhibitors prepare to come together in the greatest gathering of greeting cards in the world! This year’s wide-ranging exhibitor list includes the most inspiring publishers from right across the greeting card industry, with more than 100 exclusive names who won’t be showing anywhere else this year. Each and every exhibitor puts in an incredible amount of hard work into creating their new launches in time for the show, so we’re always over the moon that so many retailers of all shapes and sizes come along to the results of all that dedication. PG Live is a highlight of the year for us as well, as we love seeing everyone come together to celebrate this very special industry. So while the publishers have been putting the finishing touches to their ranges, we’ve been busy making sure that your visit will be as easy, enjoyable and productive as possible. From the delicious free lunch to the bottomless cups of tea and coffee and strategically-placed water stations, we’ll make sure you are always refreshed and raring to go. A free show catalogue will help you plan your visit, while this year’s colourful statement tote bag is ideal for collecting free samples. And of course the famous post-show free drinks party is essential for some serious industry networking. The PG Live Promise Each year our lovely PG Live exhibitors manage to push the bar even further in terms of originality, imagination and quality and this year’s offering really has to be seen to be believed. The jam-packed show floor will be full of exciting new product from over 230 different companies, from brand new start-ups who are showing their work for the first time ever to established publishers who will be launching a number of new collections at the show. In fact, there’s far too much going on for us to list everything – we’d be here all day! So we have asked the exhibitors themselves to share what they’ll be launching at the show and they weren’t shy about coming forward! The following pages are split into three main sections. The main show is based on the first floor and should be your first stop to see the latest collections from the leading card publishers in the business. The Village Green is on the ground floor space at the front of the show and is a mix of established springboarders and larger publishers, while the Springboard section - which is on the gallery and a dedicated area on the second floor - is a melting pot of new and emerging publishers. A quintessentially British brand and British Craft Award winner 2015, Siobhan at April Rose is the brand name for watercolour artist and illustrator Siobhan Harrison. Artwork is available for licence and product for retail. Vintage-inspired images give a modern twist on nostalgia. Products have been exhibited at a leading department store in Osaka Japan and artwork was recently commissioned for World City Day in Shanghai.

Objectables is a humour card publisher based in our own shop in Folkestone. Nearly all of our cards are funny. Some have swears on them. One or two are quite rude. There are some cats but none of them are cute. Some of them are for children but they have swears on too if you think poo and wee are swears. None of them have any pictures of Donald Trump on them. They are all great.

We at Papagrazi are back on the Village Green this year with fab new collections in our uniquely bold and colourful style. THE PG LIVE PARTY There’s only one place to be as the first day of the show comes to a close. The free drinks party which takes place each year is open to both exhibitors and buyers, giving everyone a chance to kick back, relax and toast the end of the first day with a glass of wine or a well-deserved beer. The unmissable opening night shindig (sponsored by Tache and Louise Tiler Designs) is one of the highlights of the show, with hundreds of people from right across the industry coming together to enjoy some serious networking. And after a long day of making new contacts and placing lots of orders, there’s no better way to catch up with all your industry friends. The bash takes place on Tuesday June 4, up in the Gallery Hall, from 5:45pm until 7.45pm. And don’t forget, the drinks are on us.

We are an independent greeting card publisher with a passion for unique materials. Hannah Marchant greeting cards are made with seed paper so that once the cards have been enjoyed they can be planted where they will grow as part of a wildflower meadow, herb or veggie garden. Inspired by nature and jolly good fun, all of Hannah’s cards feature illustrations that will make people smile. All the greeting cards are proudly designed and printed by Hannah in the studio in Somerset.

At Honovi we are excited to be exhibiting at PG Live for the first time in 2019, after being a finalist in The Henries in 2019. We are a relative newcomer to the greeting card industry and really believe we have something a bit different on offer. All our images are sourced from years of searching through millions of 35mm photo slides – every image is from a genuine slide. We have never – and will never – purchase images from stock or image banks.

Our multiracial and LGBTQ cards are returning to PG Live for the second time! We’re launching a new illustration collection of 30 fun designs across three ranges in addition to our photographic designs. We Are Family The uniquely supportive atmosphere at PG Live encourages plenty of networking, relationship building and other shared experiences that form an important part of the show’s appeal. “There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the whole of the show – it was really friendly and inviting,” said Anne Barber (pictured left), owner of In Heaven At Home in Market Harborough, one of the many independent retailers who attended last year’s show. She continued; “PG Live has created something quite special and different from some of the other shows I attend. It has a unique feel – it’s like a lovely daytime party to meet like-minded card people. What could be nicer?”

Getting To The Show Held in the bright, airy surroundings of the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, PG Live 2019 is easily accessible, with fabulous public transport links. Angel Undergound station is just five minutes walk away and can be easily reached from both Euston and King’s Cross (take the Northern Line), while Liverpool Street and Waterloo are both just a short journey away. If you can’t avoid driving, there are 200 spaces in the car park alongside the Business Design Centre and limited additional capacity in the surrounding area. For sat navs, use the postcode N1 0PW.
