The PG Live 2022 Get Together PG Live 2022 is all set to be a very special get together of the global greeting card community – where business will meet pleasure and no mistake.

This year’s PG Live will be a fantabulous celebration of everything great about our industry - wonderful products, a great bunch of people and a true sense of camaraderie.

Greeting cards have really come into their own during the last few challenging years, providing that all important tangible way of people being able to communicate and show they care.

As publishers have pulled out the stops with designs that chime with the public’s tastes, so retailers have been there to meet the demand.

PG Live 2022 will very much play a part in the continuation of this – with thousands and thousands of new designs being launched by a vast array of companies – from leading brands to newbie start-ups and everything in between. There will also be some stunning complementary gift, stationery and party lines with several fab artists’ agents also all revved up to share their portfolios of newness, as well as the latest developments from leading trade suppliers.

This Preview gives a sneak peek of just some of the fabulous products that will be launched at the show, with exhibitors keen to tell you, in their own words, all about them.

As our personal and business lives continue to adjust to the new normal, we really are so looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying being together at PG Live 2022.

all the great stuff! Newness newness newness After a time when happiness has been rather rationed, retailers, greeting card publishers and trade suppliers have not held back in their positive delight about the all singing, all dancing Progressive Greetings Live 2022 exhibition.

Here are just some of the extra touches which will go towards making PG Live 2022 a very special show!

The wonderful venue With its sunny airy feel and high curved ceiling, the Business Design Centre just doesn’t feel like an exhibition venue. Nestled in vibrant Islington, surrounded by lovely shops, restaurants and bars, the BDC is easy to get to and a joy to be in.

Eat, drink and be merry As ever, buyers will be incredibly well looked after. The popular tea trolleys will be out in force pouring out real cuppas (in ‘proper’ cups) throughout the day (thanks to Windles) while a free delicious lunch will be served to exhibitors and visitors alike - and there is even an opening night drinks party for visitors and exhibitors to christen the first day of wonderful trade.

Known the world over as having the greatest selection of greeting cards, the exhibitor line-up for PG Live 2022 does not disappoint. As the only UK trade show dedicated to the greeting card community, PG Live 2022 is the perfect platform for showcasing new collections with publishers of all sizes using the show as a launchpad for their exciting new releases.

The stellar line-up of leading names, such as Abacus Cards, The Art File, Belly Button Designs, Caroline Gardner, Cath Tate Cards, Danilo, Emotional Rescue, Five Dollar Shake, Jonny Javelin, Ling Design, Mint Group, Ohh Deer, Paperlink, Paper Salad, Pigment, Portfolio, UK Greetings, Wendy Jones-Blackett, Woodmansterne Publications and Words ‘n’ Wishes will be among those presenting inspiring new designs and ranges for every card-giving occasion imaginable while there will be also fresh designs galore from sparkling new brands such as Klara Hawkins, Oliver Stockley, Peony & Pangolin and Utterly Conkers.

GOING FOR PROMOTION Exhibitors are putting the finishing touches to a whole load of extra incentives and quirky elements. From ‘show only’ offers to fun competitions, surprise happenings on stands to great photo opportunities, all adding to the positive vibe.

There will also be a flurry of excitement as retailers (who are winners and finalists in The Retas and The Greats gift retailer awards as well as Cardgains members), produce their ‘Willy Wonka’ tickets to seal the deals with extra aplomb.

Come and see the Queen’s ‘greeting card Crown Jewels’ and write your own card to Her Majesty.

Her Majesty the Queen will receive sacks full of greeting cards from the UK public to commemorate her 70th Platinum Anniversary – another wonderful example of how engrained greeting cards are in our psyche. But there will also be a special postbag coming her way too, full of good wishes from greeting card publishers and retailers due to a Cards for the Queen initiative instigated by the GCA and PG that will be put on display during PG Live before making their way to Buckingham Palace.

PG Live exhibitors and GCA publisher members have been invited to send in a greeting card to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The cards, a combination of those that have been made specifically for the occasion or an existing design, will be signed by the publishers with a personal message.

Retailers and visitors to PG Live will also have an opportunity to send their good wishes to her Majesty as many publishers are donating extra cards that will be available to be written at the show and popped in the Cards for the Queen ‘postbox’.

Look out for the display and make sure that the Queen receives a keepsake card from you!

GOOD COMPANY The key is in the name PG Live really is where the greeting card community comes alive.

While the exhibitor ‘cast’ is full of fabulous characters, retail buyers from right across the spectrum will be there – from top buyers from specialist multiples, department stores, garden centres, supermarkets and online players, to countless indie card and gift retailers.

We’re a new publisher offering scrumptiously stylish and fun watercolour illustrated greeting cards, launching at PG Live with two collections; Canine Chums, featuring the nation’s favourite dogs, focusing on their playful characters giving them generic appeal as well as attracting dog lovers, and Blooming Bees, celebrating our much-loved bumblebees with fun captions mimicking their flight around colourful blooms.

VENT For Change is the sustainable stationery company that combines beautifully designed products with an ethical purchasing option for all your customers. Proceeds from every VENT purchase go towards supporting children’s education projects worldwide. We are excited to be showing our beautiful product ranges and sharing our story for the first time at PG Live in 2022.

Wendy Bell Designs creates modern collections to suit every occasion. We have ventured into some new paper products for 2022 which we are excited to show you. Also on display will be our gorgeous new greeting card collection named Nebula that we think you’ll love. Our designs are luxurious, fully recyclable and printed in England onto responsibly sourced board.

We’re at PG Live again! It’s the brightest and sunniest date in the exhibition calendar – do join us on Stand 235 to see our gorgeous new Acid Drops being launched at the show. Can’t wait to see you!

Walking The Show PG Live is spread over three levels at the Business Design Centre. The Village Green is on the ground floor (shown in green) which will be home to a mix of exhibitors including many emerging brands. Up the central stairs and you reach the Mezzanine (shown in orange), which is where you will find the majority of the leading established brands interspersed with major trade suppliers.

Then carry on up the stairs on the right hand side and you will reach the Gallery level. The Springboard area (shown in turquoise) is in on your left, this is where lots of lovely brand new companies will be showcasing their ranges, some for the first time ever. From this level, you can also reach the Gallery Hall where the scrumptious free lunch will be served as well as the opening night party on the Tuesday evening.
