Bahrain will take the Formula One spotlight from April 6-8, 2018, when the likes of four-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo roar into town for the Formula 1 2018 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

As the guide ushered us, a group of journalists, into the Newseum, he said: "You may have seen many museums but you will never forget this one as this is about your profession." The riveting museum in Washington DC did indeed leave an enduring impression on me. The Newseum is a fascinating monument to news and events around the world that made national and international headlines. It also documents and pays tribute to journalists who have risked their lives in the process of collecting information and creating news stories. The museum authorities told us that this is an institution that is proud to protect, promote and defend the freedom of expression. As a testament to its popularity, the Newseum has received over 7 million visitors since it opened its doors in 2008! Of course, its prime location also contributes to the footfall – the steel-and-glass building of the Newseum is on the historic Pennsylvania Avenue between the United States Capitol and the White House. Moreover, it is a prestigious venue for conferences, weddings, film premieres and special events. The museum also goes beyond just displays – it offers workshops, on-site classes and a free online learning platform that together reach hundreds of thousands of students and teachers, increasing the number of people who engage with the museum.

stage. However, significant world events and magazines and newspapers in languages from around the world are given their due. Besides French, Spanish, etc the museum even has displays with publications in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam! Every day, more than 700 newspapers submit digital images of their front pages to the Newseum and 80 are then selected for display.

Tracing evolution Apart from the print media, the museum traces the evolution of electronic communication, beginning with the arrival and growth of radio and television and traces how they acquired such tremendous reach and influence. It also explores the rise of the Internet and other current and emerging technologies. The museum explains, for example, how satellites have changed the way in which news is gathered and disseminated.

Highlights There is a small section of the Berlin Wall on display; its fall was an epochal event in world history. Another fascinating exhibit is the Time Line, an interactive archive of newspapers and

magazines, some of them centuries old. You'll pause longer at some galleries than others. There is a section that reveals the perils that journalists face especially those reporting from war-zones or disaster areas or during riots. The area is dedicated to journalists who have died in the line of duty while documenting the news. The mangled car in which investigative journalist Don Bolles was killed when a bomb was placed under it is also there. A glass case displays the two half-shattered cameras and the images recovered from them, which belonged to Bill Biggart who ran towards the twin towers to photograph the events of the 9/11 tragedy in New York. Another corner has a bullet-ridden car from the violence in Iraq's capital Baghdad. One of the biggest draws at this museum is the Interactive Newsroom where visitors get to play the role of reporters, anchors and editors. It gives real insight into what it takes to put a news story together. It is because of displays such as this that the Newseum claims to be one the most interactive and interesting museums in the world. By the end of the tour, we agreed wholeheartedly.

‫يشمل المتحف قسما خاصا بمعرض جدار برلين‪ ،‬الذي‬ ‫مثل سقوطه حدثا بارزا في التاريخ العالمي الحديث‪.‬‬ ‫من األقسام األخرى المثيرة لالهتمام مسلسل زمني‬ ‫تفاعلي لألحداث يعرض مجموعة واسعة من الصحف‬ ‫والمجالت‪ ،‬يعود تاريخ بعضها إلى عدة قرون مضت‪.‬‬ ‫ال شك أن بعض األقسام في المتحف ستشد الزوار‬ ‫أكثر من غيرها نظرا لقيمة محتواها‪.‬‬ ‫خصص قسم من المتحف لتسليط الضوء على األخطار‬ ‫التي تتهدد حياة المراسلين الصحفيين أثناء تغطية‬ ‫المعارك في مناطق النزاعات والمناطق المنكوبة‪،‬‬ ‫إض��اف��ة إل��ى تغطية ال��م��ظ��اه��رات وأع��م��ال الشغب‬ ‫والقالقل‪ .‬يخلد هذا القسم ذكرى أولئك الصحفيين‬ ‫ال��ذي��ن قتلوا أث��ن��اء أداء مهامهم ف��ي توثيق األخبار‬ ‫ومالحقة األح��داث‪ .‬يعرض ف��ي ه��ذا القسم حطام‬ ‫السيارة التي قتل فيها الصحفي االستقصائي دون‬ ‫بولس في انفجار قنبلة وضعت تحتها‪ .‬سيجد الزوار‬ ‫‪gulflife.online 59‬‬

‫في هذا القسم أيضا صندوقا زجاجيا يحتوي على كاميرا‬ ‫مهشمة مع الصور التي كانت بداخلها؛ توفي المصور‬ ‫الصحفي وي��ل��ي��ام ب��ي��ج��ارت وه��و يحمل ه��ذه الكاميرا‬ ‫ويلتقط الصور ويعدو باتجاه برجي التجارة العالمية‬ ‫في خضم هجمات ‪ 11‬سبتمبر ‪ 2001‬المأساوية في‬ ‫نيويورك‪ .‬في ركن آخر من هذا المعرض توجد سيارة‬ ‫ت��ع��رض��ت ل��واب��ل م��ن ال��رص��اص أث��ن��اء أع��م��ال العنف‬ ‫الدامية في العاصمة العراقية بغداد‪.‬‬ ‫من أهم أقسام المتحف غرفة األخبار التفاعلية التي‬ ‫تسمح ل��ل��زوار بالقيام ب��دور المراسلين أو مقدمي‬ ‫األخبار أو المصورين أو المحررين كما أنهم يطلعون‬ ‫على كيفية إعداد الخبر الصحفي‪ .‬لذلك‪ ،‬يعتبر متحف‬ ‫نيوزيام من أهم المتاحف التفاعلية في العالم بفضل‬ ‫ما يمتاز به من خصائص‪ .‬عندما تنتهي الجولة عبر أرجاء‬ ‫هذا المتحف ستدرك أنه يستحق فعال المكانة الكبيرة‬ ‫التي يتمتع بها‪.‬‬

How is F45 different than other fitness studios? Combining the industry trends of functional training, circuit training and high intensity interval training (or HIIT), F45 delivers premium team training in a boutique studio environment. F45 Training is a team-based, functional training facility that places a huge emphasis on the ‘three key factors’ of innovation, motivation and results. At F45 (meaning 45 minutes of functional training), no programme is ever repeated, making every workout a unique experience.

What evaluations do you conduct with a new client eager to begin a fitness regiment? The main factor we look for is the Percentage of Body Fat (PBF). All new joiners are encouraged to get scanned using the latest body composition analyzer from InBody. Our body scanner analysis allows us to move past the scale and see what parts of the body need the most attention.

Walk me through how you start a class from the very beginning to the end of the warm up. It’s really a seamless process. The F45 experience begins away from the studio as clients book their class in advance via the F45 Training App to ensure they have a slot reserved for them when they arrive. After checking in, the class will promptly start with a warm welcome to our new members and an explanation of the day’s workout. The trainer will proceed to demonstrate every exercise in the workout and offer some alternatives to anyone who needs it. Finally, a group warm up is performed to get the body ready for what’s next.

How important is nutrition to you in creating a client’s regimen? They say “Abs are made in the Kitchen”. Nutrition is extremely vital to achieving results! Completing an F45 workout 4-5 times a week will take you far, but without a healthy diet, results will take much longer to appear. Small additions or exclusions in a person’s diet can make the world of a difference on the scale. It may seem overwhelming it’s quite easy.

Do you have fitness goals for yourself? If so, what are they?

Fitness is a lifestyle choice and setting your fitness goals should be relevant to your own challenges in life. It shouldn’t be about chasing a number on a scale. When exercising, you should think, “How will this make my life better?”

One thing that one should never skip in a workout? Never skip a post workout cool down. After a long workout muscles begin to contract and tighten. Stretching loosens the muscle, which aids in a quick recovery and the prevention of pain. Always stretch!

What’s the best way for someone to motivate himself/herself to get fit? At F45, we believe that training as a group yields far better results. Our motto is “Team Training, Life Changing”!

Do you think that living your best life means being fit? Yes, I believe that fitness is a lifestyle and that everyone needs to incorporate it into their daily routine. At F45, our workouts are only 45 minutes long. That’s only 3% of your day. Everyone can make time. No Excuses.

What’s the biggest mistake that fitness newbies make? New joiners come in expecting instant results. Progress will happen and results will come, but you need to give it some time.

Give us three essential exercises you suggest for all clients? If you’re short on time with no equipment to exercise, I recommend these three simple exercises using only your bodyweight: 1. Prisoner Squats: Squats are arguably one of the best exercises. I prefer this squat variation. Perform three sets of 20 repetitions as fast as you can. 2. Plyometric Lunges: Lunges are also very popular. This is my preferred lunge type. Perform three sets of 20 repetitions as fast as you can with control. 3. Push Ups: This classic exercise will never let you down. Perform three sets of 10 repetitions.

LOOSEN UP

Inflight Exercises 01 Upper back Flex Place both hands behind the head and arch your back tilting your chin up towards the ceiling. Hold for 10 seconds, relax and repeat.

02 Neck roll Start with keeping your head straight and looking forward. Gently tilt it to the left, then roll it back facing the ceiling and finish the roll by bringing it to the starting position.

03 Shoulder roll Start in a rested position with arms to your sides. Roll your shoulders forward and bring them up towards your ears and continue to roll them towards your back and return to starting position.

04 Ankle rotation Rotate the ankle first in clockwise and then in anti-clockwise motion. You can place the ball of your foot on the floor for support. Repeat with other foot.

05 Trunk flex Perform a suitcase deadlift without using dumb bells by standing with your feet apart, bending at the knees with your torso perpendicular to the ground. Repeat 5 times.

06 Foot flex Lift one foot off the ground at a 90 degree angle. Point the toe of the lifted foot up towards the ceiling and move your ankle in a clockwise direction. Repeat on the other foot.
