Their early work was influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, but the band gradually ventured into more mainstream, radio-friendly work incorporating more styles, such as arena rock and pop rock

The band has cited among their influences American artists such as Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys and Jimi Hendrix as well as British rock groups of the time, such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin

It is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. The band consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler.

El grunge tuvo una fuerte influencia de Pixies, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. y Melvins Sin embargo, el género comenzó a estar de moda y ganó popularidad muy rápido, haciendo que el sonido y estética se estandarizarse. Para mucho el grunge murió tras el suicidio de Kurt Cobain en 1994

Hubo un fenómeno conocido como College Rock Se trata de bandas que comenzaron sonando en estaciones de radio de universidades y consiguieron establecerse dentro del circuito internacional Sus más icónicos representantes son R E M , Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Jane’s Addiction, Radiohead, Beck y Pavement

Otro fenómeno que movilizó la industria de la música fue el de las boy bands. Tenemos a los Backstreet Boys aunque ya se habían dado otras bandas como Take That en Inglaterra N’syn y las Spice Girls
