This summer, we celebrated our extraordinary workforce at the Agincare Heroes Awards 2024 at the stunning Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, Surrey.
Now in its third year, The Agincare Heroes Awards pay tribute to our exceptional team members who go above and beyond in making an outstanding difference to the people who draw on our services.
We were simply overwhelmed by the huge number of nominations from those who we care for and support, as well as their families, friends, and healthcare professionals.
Finalists travelled to Pennyhill Park for an unforgettable event that celebrated the immense talent, dedication and passion of our 4,500-strong workforce.

In this edition of our quarterly newsletter you can read about our busy year so far and learn about some of the exciting projects around the corner.
One of the highlights of the year was The Agincare Heroes Awards 2024 which proved to be such a memorable and emotional event.
At a time of pivotal growth, I am so proud to lead our talented and passionate workforce across nearly 100 locations!
Raina Summerson, Agincare Chief Executive
We were delighted to welcome Critchill Court in Frome and Sunnymeade in Chard to our growing portfolio of high-quality care and nursing homes nationwide. Both homes were at risk of immediate closure so it was important for us to provide stability to all during such a turbulent time.
We hosted two fantastic opening celebrations which saw everyone come together for afternoons of fun in the garden.
We’ve had excellent feedback from both events and are delighted that the homes are prospering from our continued support - safe in the knowledge that Agincare is behind them every step of the way.
We were thrilled that many of our clients and care workers had the privilege of attending The King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. Dressed in their finest, we are told that everyone had a truly memorable afternoon at the Palace. Not even the occasional spot of rain could dampen their spirits!
Agincare team members participated in a charity volleyball tournament on Weymouth Beach in aid of the local lifeboat station.
Though we narrowly missed winning the title, there is hope for next year!
It was our unique honour to recognise 15 winners and 45 finalists from our workforce of nearly 4,500 at The Agincare Heroes Awards 2024 held at the luxurious Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey. Award categories included Care Worker of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, Outstanding Leader of the Year, Care Team of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.
The latter part of the ceremony was dedicated to two very special awards:
The Will Mitchell Award for Outstanding Achievement and the coveted Agincare Hero Medal - presented to just five people.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS AND GUEST SPEAKER
We would also like to thank our VIP Guest of Honour, Dr Jane Townson (pictured left), CEO of the Homecare Association, for her fantastic rousing speech that opened the ceremony.
The Agincare Heroes Awards would not be possible without the kind support from our Headline Sponsor The Commercial Law Practice, Award Sponsor CB Reid Accountants and Partner Sponsors: Bates Office and Wessex Plumbing and Heating.
Four of our five homes in Southwark celebrated their first year with Agincare by hosting themed parties!
Themes included Motown (Greenhive), Tropical (Rose Court), Celebrating Diversity (Bluegrove House) and Carnival (Waterside).
Helping
Support workers Sherrie and Taylor accompanied Richard, who lives at our supported living service in Wiltshire, for a fun-packed holiday at the magical Disneyland Paris.
The trio enjoyed a long weekend of sightseeing, meeting their favourite characters and trying out the many rides!
AGINCARE SPONSORS CELEBRITY CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH
We were proud to be one of the main sponsors of a charity football match in aid of The Lexi May Trust and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust held at the Avenue Stadium in Dorchester.
We had a great time opening Elizabeth Court supported living service in Dorchester with our partners Dorset Council and Registered Provider Inclusion Housing.
Elizabeth Court has been specially designed to accommodate people living
with a range of complex conditions, providing them with a suitable home with access to support and care from Agincare Enable.
To mark the grand occasion, we hosted a special open morning that was attended by the tenants of Elizabeth Court, their families, and
representatives from Agincare, Dorset Council and Inclusion Housing.
Developed by Specialised Supported Housing Ltd, the service comprises twelve flats over three storeys and four bungalows, with outdoor space at the rear.

Following the success of Tamar Court in Worle and Lakeside Court in Westonsuper-Mare, our provision of Extra Care schemes continues to grow.
The Extra Care schemes we operate help older people live independently in their own self-contained property with 24-hour support available on-site.
More Extra Care schemes will be opened across the country in the coming year.

We are looking forward to a great future ahead with the Tower Bridge Care Home team!

Tower Bridge is a safe and welcoming home that provides bespoke nursing care from a highly trained care team. The home boasts 122 bedrooms and features a range of dining areas, activity rooms, a hairdressing salon and a spacious enclosed garden.
We were proud to be one of the first care providers to sign up for Southwark Council’s Care Charter to drive up standards for residents and care teams.
Tower Bridge residents, their families and the care team chose Agincare as part of a selection process led by Southwark Council. We are excited to strengthen our partnership with the council and the local community.

Live-in care worker and professional artist Sandra Winter has wowed her client, Ellen, after unveiling a stunning portrait of her.
Sandra has been Ellen’s live-in care worker for the last two years and over that time the pair have formed a close bond.
Most days the pair will go out for little adventures - whether that’s a trip to the local shopping arcade or for long walks out in the country.
Putting into words what Sandra means to her life, Ellen, 78, said:
“I am never bored with Sandra! “She is a real beacon of light. We get on ever so well”
We are immensely proud that team members who join us as care workers progress to senior and management roles through our expert training, mentorship and support. Here are just two stories:
KELLY’S STORY:
Kelly joined Agincare in 2015 as a care worker and soon found a great aptitude for her new career, working her way up to Field Care Supervisor.
Utilising our expert in-house training, Kelly undertook a Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care that enabled her to become the Registered Manager of the Medway home care service.
In 2023, Kelly was appointed Operations Manager for the South East regionsupported every step of the way by Agincare.
FIL’S STORY:
Agincare stalwart Fil has enjoyed a long career that has seen him successfully transition from a direct care role into a senior management role at our Head Office.
Starting a out as a care worker, Fil’s strong work ethic and professionalism saw him rise to the role of Dual Registered Manager looking after two of our home care services in Dorset.
Fil’s IT experience and knowledge of our infrastructure saw him appointed to IT Projects and Operations Manager, where he provides technical support to our 100+ care locations.
