Every wish we grant creates positive, everlasting change for everyone involved – for our wish kids and their families, our donors, our volunteers, and so many more supporters who make every wish possible. In 2019, we saw that positive change 158 times, as 158 children battling a critical illness in our community were granted a wish. We saw that change in makeup enthusiast, Delilah, who used her wish to inspire other kids still working towards ringing the bell, cancer-free; in 13-year-old Doron who met the hockey heroes who got him through difficult treatments; and, in all of the children whose faces lit up meeting their favorite character at one of the Happiest Places on Earth. With the support of more than 650 volunteers and 15 staff members, Southern Nevada saw a wish granted every 36 hours this past year. 67% of our wishes involved travel, including seven trips to international locations and 58 Disney-related wishes. Fifteen kids met their favorite sports team or celebrity, and 22 had the ultimate shopping spree. And on World Wish Day, a record 12 kids found out their wishes were coming true during our largest wish reveal ever at UFC Headquarters. For the fifth consecutive year, our chapter celebrated record highs for both wishes granted and revenue while continuing to connect supporters to our mission in exciting ways. Our two signature events – Walk For Wishes and Fashion Luncheon – continued to inspire, with Fashion Luncheon raising more than $1M, a 33% increase from last year. Mission moments at The Wishing Place shined too, like the new Conversations with Wish Moms, the reimagined Very Important Volunteer Awards, and all the wish reveals hosted by volunteers and community partners throughout the year.

The power of a wish is undeniable, and I hope that the stories and videos in the following pages inspire you as much as they continue to inspire me. I am grateful to be surrounded by supporters like you and give my thanks to everyone who continues to help us transform lives, one wish at a time. With kind regards and gratitude,

Past Events FASHION LUNCHEON For the 17th year, prominent members of the Las Vegas community came together to support the Make-A-Wish® mission at Fashion Luncheon. Beginning a new chapter for this event, attendees dined in fashion at a new location, Scarpetta inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and admired looks from the Chloé Spring 2019 Collection. This year’s fundraising total was up 33% from last year, thanks to funds raised through both a silent and live auction, and a raffle for over 100 donated prizes. Special thanks to committee member Kristen Winchell, who raised more than $89,000 at Vegas Magazine’s Vegas Gives event, and Dana White and the UFC for more than $181,000 raised through an Omaze campaign and 50:50 Raffle during a fight at T-Mobile Arena in October.

WALK FOR WISHES Last March, nearly 3,000 wish kids, families, volunteers, supporters, and even four-legged friends came together in the early morning hours at Town Square Las Vegas to participate in this year’s Walk For Wishes® presented by Allegiant. Once again, News 3’s Kim & Dana Wagner and Mix 94.1’s Mercedes & JC presided over an opening ceremony that highlighted the power of a wish and concluded with a surprise wish reveal for wish kid Faith. After completing the 1-mile walk or 5K run, participants headed to the wish zones to enjoy activities, giveaways, and food from our amazing community partners.

MEET DELILIAH
I wish to create a makeup line for cancer patients Delilah, 17 cancer
One night, a pain in seventeen-year-old Delilah’s left arm woke her up. When the pain persisted, she went to the doctor and was first told that she had just slept on it wrong. But Delilah knew something wasn’t right.
After visits to several doctors, Delilah was diagnosed with an aggressive osteosarcoma and immediately began chemotherapy treatments that made her very sick. During treatments, Delilah relied not only on her family’s unwavering support but also leaned on her fellow patients to help her stay positive. During this time, Delilah met with MakeA-Wish volunteers to discover her wish and begin her wish journey. Inspired by her experience, Delilah wished to create a line of makeup for cancer patients to help others who face the changes in appearance that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Expressing her personality through makeup has always been a passion of Delilah’s. “Before my cancer journey, I loved makeup,” she said. “I loved playing with makeup and doing makeup. Picking makeup dedicated to cancer patients… they could be doing it in the hospital and having fun with makeup to get their minds off of everything they’re going through.” One week before her final chemo treatment, Delilah headed to The Wishing
Place and was surprised with a special message from ColourPop Cosmetic’s social media team – her wish was coming true! Delilah was whisked off to ColourPop’s Los Angeles Headquarters where she was greeted by the entire team. After a tour of the facility, Delilah donned her personalized lab coat and got to work designing her line - a combination of eye shadows and lipsticks each named after a part of her journey. Delilah wanted to inspire other children battling critical illnesses and ColourPop did too. 20 percent of the proceeds of the proceeds from her line benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Delilah believes makeup helps patients feel stronger. “Makeup makes me feel more confident,” Delilah said, and she’s got a strong message for other cancer patients. Her message to them? “I know it’s a rough patch in life, but just cherish the moment with family and look on the bright side of everything. Try to make something out of it. Try to be happy.”
...just cherish the moment with family and — Delilah, wish kid look on the bright side of everything. 2019 ANNUAL REPORT
MEET DORON
I wish to meet the Vegas Golden Knights Doron, 13 lymphoma
Doron loves playing with his friends and being outdoors. He especially loves playing team sports like football and baseball with the other members of his school teams. He is known for being very fun-loving, having a big heart, and being very empathetic to and considerate of the needs of others.
After his diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the fall of 2017, Doron could no longer be on the teams he enjoyed so much. For months, he had to spend his days in the hospital for treatments, including a round of chemotherapy. While in the hospital, Doron found a distraction from treatments by rooting for the Vegas Golden Knights during their debut season. They were Las Vegas’ team, they were his team, and as the VGK beat their opponents during their unprecedented run to the Stanley Cup Finals, Doron, too, felt like he could beat his condition. Now in remission and back to playing team sports (including a new one - hockey!), Doron had to think about what the most meaningful wish would be to him. Though he considered travelling with his family, he knew his one true wish was one that would keep him on his home turf - to meet the Vegas Golden Knights! Doron hoped that he would be able to attend a team practice, sit on the bench with the players, and get goalie tips from his favorite player, MarcAndré Fleury. One day, Doron’s family went on an excursion to Maverick Helicopters to get a bird’s eye view of the Strip. As Doron looked out over the city, he saw something
familiar...was that his name and face on a hotel digital marquee? The helicopter pilot confirmed - Doron’s wish was coming true and he was becoming an honorary player for the day! When the helicopter landed, Doron was whisked off to City National Arena in a limo, complete with a police escort courtesy of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. As soon as Doron signed his day-long contract, Fleury and Deryk Engelland escorted him to the private players’ lounge for a quick meal with the team before suiting up. Fleury personally helped Doron lace up his brand-new hockey gear and get ready for his big entrance. Even through the goalie mask, you could see the wide grin on Doron’s face as his name was announced on the speaker, and he made his way onto the ice. The lights in the arena flashed and Doron skated through the tunnel of Golden Aces, high-fiving Chance the mascot as he headed out to join the other players for his first lap. While his family watched from the stands, Doron skated with the players, then headed to the net. Doron turned away shot after shot from the Golden Knights as Fleury gave him pointers. With a final “Go Knights Go!” chant, Doron took a victory lap, his one true wish granted. 2019 ANNUAL REPORT

There are few experiences more powerful than
making a wish come true. My favorite part of the trip was spending time with my family, after going through a devastating journey with cancer. I enjoyed every moment with them. It was a getaway from all the doctors, scans, X-rays and worst of all chemotherapy, that made me so sick. My trip made me feel rejuvenated and like I had my life back. I wish to go to Paris

Sai’s wish trip was magical! For 6 days, he experienced pure joy, lots of laughter and his smile was priceless. Just six months post-heart surgery, this trip reminded him that he was on a healthy road to recovery as he rode rides that he was previously restricted from. No doctors, no hospital, no therapy.... just fun! — Trina, wish mom to Sai
