Saturday, February 15th, 2020 Overton Hotel and Conference Center

WELCOME TO WALTZING FOR WISHES Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of life-changing wish experiences worldwide. Our vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. Wishes are not reserved for children with terminal illnesses. In fact, medical research connects wish experiences to better health outcomes! Wishes are catalysts for hope -- profoundly effective in fueling a child's drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow. Families are unified and entire communities are enriched -- the positive impact is boundless. It is because of generous donors, dedicated volunteers and valuable partners in the medical community that each wish becomes a reality. Thank you for helping to ensure every eligible child receives their one true wish when they need it most!

Chase Graves is the lead designer for B&S Woodworking. He has a love for design and art and takes a lot of pride in the work he does for his clients. When out of the office, Chase loves to travel and go to sporting events. Most travel is to go to art museums or to see his beloved Dallas Stars play on the road. Chase has never been married and has no plans to ever be. He is blessed with an incredible group of friends that he would do anything for.

Amye Jay was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and was raised in the piney woods of East Texas, then moved to Midland, Texas where she graduated from Lee High School. She moved to Lubbock in 2002 to attend Texas Tech University. Through the next 8 years she earned her Bachelor’s degree/Registered Nurse, and her Master’s degree. She has been a nurse practitioner for 10 years in multiple areas including concierge medicine, interventional pain management, urgent care, internal medicine, prison medicine, and ultimately found her mission field in hospice and palliative care. For the past two years, she has been the nurse practitioner at Hospice of Lubbock, caring for both adult and pediatric patients. She began dating her now husband, Brooks, shortly after finishing graduate school. They were next door neighbors from the age of 13, and she maintains that their first date was driving him to his first day of high school. They have been married 8 years and have a 3-year-old daughter named Blair. After fleeing from Lubbock, twice, they came to their senses and decided to return to West Texas and plant permanent roots. Three years later and they’ve never looked back. When she is not busy working, being a wife and mother, and answering hundreds of questions from her daughter, she enjoys traveling, kayaking, building and restoring furniture with her husband, music/singing, spending time with friends, learning new languages, and just about anything involving a paintbrush. Amye first became involved with Make-A-Wish in her current role at Hospice of Lubbock, as some of her pediatric patients had been wish kids in the past. The sheer anticipation and joy that Make-A-Wish provided the kids made all the difference in the world for their quality of life, and gave their families such sweet memories to keep. Amye attended the last gala with her husband at the invitation of their friends, Lee and Jennifer Williams. She was so impressed and grateful for Make-A-Wish, and felt a strong conviction to establish the relationship with the organization who cares for her kiddos as much as she does. Her wish is for every pediatric hospice patient to, one day, have the opportunity to have their wish granted.

She started as the Weekend Meteorologist and Weather Ready Nation franchise reporter on KLBK News before quickly transitioning into KAMC's Weekday Morning & Midday Meteorologist. Mike Jones was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. He earned his BA degree in Accounting from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa and later obtained his CPA status. 16 years ago, Mike became the Chief Financial Officer for ARMtech Insurance Services, Inc. here in Lubbock, in which he has enjoyed being a part of ARMtech’s success in becoming the largest writer of crop insurance in Texas and currently the 6th largest writer of crop insurance in the United States. Mike and his wife, Sharon, who have now called Lubbock “home” for 16 years, just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in November. They have 3 children and 10 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with their grandkids, Mike and Sharon enjoy dancing, traveling and entertaining. Mike also loves following college sports, especially BIG XII football and basketball, in which he enjoys watching and rooting for his Iowa State Cyclones and also the Red Raiders. Mike first learned about the Make-A-Wish foundation when his nephew, Scott, was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 12. Scott was granted his wish to have a computer through the Make-A-Wish organization. Fortunately, through many surgeries and a long journey, Scott survived his illness, is married with a family, and has a successful career with a well-known national insurer. Mike is very grateful for the opportunity to be involved with this year’s “Waltzing for Wishes” which will help Make-A-Wish continue to grant wishes to these very deserving children. Mike has the great honor of dancing with his beautiful and talented wife, Sharon Jones and a beautiful and talented Texas Tech Ballroom Dancer, Ingrid Tramez, tonight.
