Denny and Connie are longtime supporters of Make-A-Wish and we can’t wait for the opportunity to spotlight their commitment to this wonderful and necessary organization. So why “Beyond Your Wildest Dreams”? Because when life-changing wishes are granted, a “wish effect” occurs. Wishes allow children battling critical illnesses to build the hope and strength they need to fight harder and see the impossible become possible. It’s no surprise that medical research connects wish experiences to better health outcomes. With medical professionals seeing the lifechanging impact of a wish, firsthand, every day, referrals for wishes are at an all-time high. There are more kids waiting on their wish to be granted than ever before! But wishes can’t come true if funding doesn’t keep up with referrals. We need your support… So when a child says, “I wish to go.. I wish to have.. I wish to meet.. I wish to be…”, we can be there for them when they need their wish the most.

We can’t wait for you to meet many of our wish alum this evening who are proud and excited to share with you how well they’re doing today. A wish reminds children and families they are not forgotten, but backed by a whole community. We hope you’ll be and continue to be a part of the community that has allowed so many brave kids to be the shining stars they are today.

In our big-hearted North Texas community, there are many ways to get involved. We would like to thank you for choosing to be here tonight and make both an immediate and lasting impact in the lives of children and families. We see daily, how wishes bring us together and lift us up; wishes clearly make our world a better place.

Wish kid, McKenna, 14 The families we serve find themselves in some of the most devastating and disruptive situations. We all have the opportunity to step in and help bring hope into focus through a wish fulfilled. You may have heard that medical research is making connections between wishes and better health outcomes. This learning doesn’t come as a surprise as we see it every day. Nationally recognized journalist Shelly Slater has twenty years of experience getting to the point. As a multi Emmy Award winning news anchor and reporter, she knows how to engage an audience. Her career has taken her from live breaking news to interviews with everyone from President George W. Bush to Jimmy Kimmel and Amal Clooney.

Shelly now runs her own company to help corporations win business & trust by delivering a message that sticks. From lawyers, to CEOs, and real estate groups, Shelly crafts stories that break through in a distracted world. At age 26, Andy was the youngest person ever to win the International Auctioneer Championships in 1997. When Andy is not at an auction talking 100 miles per hour, he loves to collect historical firearms and spend time at the shooting range.

Andy has been the Auctioneer at Wish Night for over 20 years, helping Make-A-Wish North Texas raise the funds to grant the one true wish for HUNDREDS of wish kids.
