Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for placewherewithCounty,ourInternationalHumanity(HFHI).WhileworkisfocusedinLucasOhio,wealignourselvesHFHI’svisionofaworldeveryonehasadecenttolive.
Our local history started in 1988 when a group of community and congregational volunteers formed Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. Homes were rehabbed and eventually new homes were built. ReStore® was added in 2004 and the Home Repair

The ReStore ® in Maumee, the education classes that prepped me for home ownership, all the prayers that made it feel like family helping family, the help and patience from the whole staff and volunteers are things that I will cherish.

“Thanks to your Homeownership program and connection with Owens Corning for building a new home for my family, it has been four peaceful months since my twins and I have lived in our home. After getting everything organized from moving, the natural light coming from all the windows at sunrise and sunset was the first thing I noticed, it is such a joy to watch. Thanks to the Habitat for Humanity staff for suggesting the door with glass at the top. Also, seeing how happy my children are with having the space to play, run and complete activities makes me smile and proud that I completed the program.

MISSION
• Together we completed 68 full roof replacements and 42 additional home repairs.
• Together we offered 16 educational courses preparing partner families for Homeownership.
• Together we completed 2 Rock the Blocks in Junction and the other in Birmingham.
• Future homeowners amassed 3,947 volunteer sweat equity hours towards the purchase of their homes.
• Together we built 8 homes impacting the lives of 8 adults and 13 children who now have a safe, affordable place to call home
• Over 1,300 volunteers committed almost 18,000 hours to support our mission.

• Together we corrected code violations and fully rehabbed 8 homes through the Owner Occupied Rehab program in partnership with the City of Toledo.

MAUMEE VALLEY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Playhouse Project is a program designed to teach young children the pride and joy of homeownership.
Playhouses offer build teams a fun and engaging volunteer team-building experience. Over $125,000 is raised through Playhouse sponsorships every yearenough to build an entire home for a Lucas County family! together we raised enough funds to build an entire home
What started out as a spark of imagination has grown into a flourishing fundraiser for Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. In fact, the Playhouse Project Blitz Build at Fifth Third Field is our biggest fundraiser of the year.
Proceeds from sales are used to build and repair homes with and for our neighbors here in Lucas County.
ReStore’s® record sales of $1,412,832 help support the overall mission together we renew
® is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances and home accessories to the public at 25%-80% off original retail prices.
