Dear Friends, 2017 marked a year of incredible impact for decent, affordable housing in our community.

Sitting at the closing table when a Habitat Homeowner takes ownership of their new home, is an incredible experience. It is only made possible because of YOU! It is you, the passionate donor who has supported us. It is you, the volunteer who has sustained us. It is you, the beloved community who has made this dream come true for a family.

Your generous gifts of time, talent, and treasure have also helped existing homeowners receive necessary health and safety related repairs. Repairs like roof replacements ensure Mother Nature stays on the outside so families’ lives can continue on the inside.

Additionally, friends connect at ReStore on daily basis as you drop off your product donations or shop for your own home. ReStore bridges our mission and allows Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity to serve more families.

year in review Women Build In May, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity partnered with Lowe’s and dozens of all-female construction crews to build a house for a single mother and her two sons. Over 250 women worked on the month-long project.

A Brush with Kindness A large part of our work is preserving homeownership.

A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) is part of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s broader community development strategy for neighborhood revitalization and includes exterior painting of homes. In 2017, the affilate completed three ABWKs, one of which was sponsored by BP-Husky Refinery.

Over 60 employees worked together to clean, paint, and repair homes in Toledo’s Birmingham Neigborhood.

50th Roof Replacement Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity (MVHFH) recognizes the need for affordable roof replacements in Lucas County. In 2017, MVHFH celebrated its 50th roof replacement project. The Roof Replacement Initative started in 2015 with the strong support of Owens Corning donating the majority of materials for every roof.

Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity marks its 200th family served in Northwest Ohio in late December of 2017. The one-story Habitat home provides a brighter future for the Williams Family.

MVHFH has served over 700 individuals, including 471 children since the affiliate was founded in 1988.
