La mia ricerca si concentra sull’installazione e l’utilizzo di diversi medium, pittura, scultura, nuove tecnologie e video.Il punto di partenza è la teoria del filosofo Luciano Floridi che si concentra sulla condizione umana attuale, divisa tra mondo digitale e reale che, in una metafora poetica, viene visualizzata come l’habitat delle Mangrovie che vivono in equilibrio tra acque dolci e salate. Nel digitale le forme e gli oggetti tendono a smaterializzarsi, a fondersi per diventare impalpabili, le mie opere vivono il paradosso di una restituzione fisica, morbida, e ibrida, non puramente virtuale. L’eterogeneità delle sue installazioni e opere diventa spazio di interrogazione sul rapporto tra umanità-tecnologia, dialogo di creazione, avversità, in continua trasformazione. My research focuses on the installation and use of different mediums, painting, sculpture, new technologies and videos. The starting point is the theory of the philosopher Luciano Floridi which focuses on the current human condition, divided between the digital and real world which, in a poetic metaphor, is visualized as the habitat of the Mangroves that live in balance between fresh and salt waters. In the digital world, shapes and objects tend to dematerialize, to merge to become impalpable, my works experience the paradox of a physical, soft, and hybrid restitution, not purely virtual. The heterogeneity of his installations and works becomes a space for questioning the relationship between humanity-technology, dialogue of creation, adversity, in continuous transformation.

Vive e lavora a Milano. Dopo un diploma in produzione e audio video allo IED di Milano, l’artista sviluppa un particolare interesse per le pratiche artistiche e decide di iscriversi all’Accademia di Brera a Milano, dove consegue la laurea in Arti Visive con pratica pittorica nel 2016. Durante il percorso accademico, è stato inserito in alcune mostre collettive, tra cui la Grafica in Opera a Villa Gori (Lucca, 2013), la collettiva Nuovi Sguardi al Museo Magi (Pieve di Cento, BO, 2014), Amori Possibili all’Ex Studio di Piero Manzoni (Milano, 2014) e Pittura Futura allo Spazio Rivoli 2 di Roberto Casiraghi (Milano, 2016). Accanto alla pratica pittorica, Sugamiele si interessa alla sfera musicale, re- alizzando un progetto di pittura sonora MM/ SS eseguito alla Meet Factory (2014), al Festival della Fotografia Europea (Reggio Emilia, 2014) e al Café Central (Bruxelles, 2015). A partire dal 2017, l’artista si è dedicato interamente allo sviluppo della sua ricerca, con mostre presso Photo Israel (Tel Aviv, 2017), Palazzo Oneto a Manifesta 12 (Palermo, 2018), con la partecipazione alle iniziative di Studi Festival,(Milano,2018 e 2019)e ReaFair (Milano, 2020), a cui segue un periodo di residenza presso Viafarini (Milano 2020-2021). Dopo il premio e la mostra all’Hangar Art Center (Bruxelles, 2021), ha esposto al Premio Nocivelli (Brescia, 2021), presso a. topos (Venezia, 2021), Edicola Radetzky (Milano, 2021), Art on video a cura di Chiara Guidi (Salerno, 2021), Artbite di Nicoletta Rusconi, Cica Museum (Corea del Sud 2021), Die Digita- le (Dusseldorf, 2021), nella mostra personale alla galleria Alessandro Albanese (Milano 2021) e nelle mostre collettive presso Galleria Verrengia (Salerno, 2022). Lo scorso anno ha partecipato a Camera Tripla curata da Leonardo Regano presso Labs Contemporary (Bologna, 2022) e Verona Art Fair (2022). Nel 2023 è stato invitato dalla Commissione Europea a Bruxelles a rappresentare con un’opera inedita, della serie de La Società delle Mangrovie ispirata dall’omonimo pensiero del filosofo Floridi, il lancio dell’ Innovation Fund per la sostenibilità. Lives and works in Milan. After a degree direction and audiovideo prod at IED in Milan, the artist develops a particular interest in artistic practices and decides to enroll at the Brera Academy in Milan, where he graduated in Visual Arts with pictorial practice in 2016. During the academic path, he has been included in some group exhibitions, including the Grafica in Opera at Villa Gori (Lucca, 2013), the collective Nuovi Sguardi at the Magi Museum (Pieve di Cento, BO, 2014), Amori Possibili at the Ex Studio by Piero Manzoni (Milan, 2014) and Pittura Futura at Spazio Rivoli 2 by Roberto Casiraghi (Milan, 2016). Alongside the pictorial practice, Sugamiele is interested in the musical sphere, realizing a MM/SS sound painting project performed at the Meet Factory (2014), at the Festival of European Photography (Reggio Emilia, 2014) and at the Café Central (Brussels, 2015 ). Since 2017, the artist has dedicated himself entirely to the development of his research, with exhibitions at Photo Israel (Tel Aviv, 2017), Palazzo Oneto at Manifesta 12 (Palermo, 2018), with participation in the initiatives of Studi Festival, (Milan, 2018 and 2019) and ReaFair (Milan, 2020), followed by a residency period at Viafarini (Milan 2020-2021). After the award and the exhibition at the Hangar Art Center (Brussels, 2021), he exhibited at the Nocivelli Prize (Brescia, 2021), at a. topos (Venice, 2021), Edicola Radetzky (Milan, 2021), Art on video curated by Chiara Guidi (Salerno, 2021), Artbite by Nicoletta Rusconi, Cica Museum (South Korea 2021), Die Digitale (Dusseldorf, 2021), in the solo exhibition at the Alessandro Albanese gallery (Milan 2021) and in the group exhibitions at the Verrengia Gallery (Salerno, 2022). Last year he participated in Camera Tripla curated by Leonardo Regano at Labs Contemporary (Bologna, 2022) and Verona Art Fair (2022). In 2023 he was invited by the European Commission to Brussels to represent with an unedited work, from the series of The Mangrove Society inspired by the homonymous thought of the philosopher Floridi, the launch of the Innovation Fund for sustainability. His last show is Artemis at Spazio15 (Brescia, 2023). Contestabile curated by Davide Silvio at Cluster (Rome, 2023). Libero dall’immagine o la figurazione puntuale, lascio che nelle mie tele emergano profondità provenienti dal mondo virtuale. Il mio stesso processo si genera da un gesto cromatico che si irradia su tutta la tela, alternandone le tracce come costellazioni, sedimentandosi in creature ibride, attraverso l’unione con materiale di diversa natura come spray e tessuti, la pluralità di supporti e l’istallazione che include sempre frammenti digitali.

Free from the punctuality of representation, I let virtual depths to float and emerge in my work. My own process is generated by a chromatic gesture that radiates over the whole canvas, alternating its traces as constellations, settling in hybrid creatures, through the union with materials of a different nature such as fabric and spray, along with the employ of multiple supports and the methodology of installation that always includes digital fragments.

GATES Durante il periodo di quarantena ho raccolto e archiviato immagini iconiche che apparivano sui media, prediligendone molte riguardanti la religione; per il suo ruolo nella società e per la fragilità a cui è stata esposta in questo periodo storico, più di ogni precedente guerra o catastrofe naturale, calamità o tragedia. Allo stesso tempo, cerco immagini del virus da alcuni studi medici su Internet, quindi le astraggo dal contesto di riferimento e le aggiungo alla composizione dell’immagine religiosa iniziale, attivando un processo di stratificazione di segni e significati.

During the period of lockdown I gather ed and archived media iconic images, rather choosing those regarding religion; for its role in society and the fragility that it is showing now, in this historical period, more than any previous war or natural disasters, calamity or tragedy. Along with this research, I look up for representations of the virus from internet medical studies, then I abstract them from the reference context and add them to the composition of the initial religion image, activating a process of layering of signs and meanings.

Il risultato suggerisce diversi confini, porte o finestre come possibili portali digitali nella stessa immagine che disorientano o riorientano lo spettatore. La Mecca accoglie i suoi membri completamente avvolta da una piramide tridimensionale e all’interno della piazza esplodono virus che si mescolano con gli altri elementi della composizione.

The result makes one to figure different gates, holes or windows into the same image that disorient or re-orient the viewer into other possible digital portals. The Mecca welcomes its members completely wrapped in a three-dimensional pyramid, and at the interior of the square blow-ups viruses appear and mix with the other elements.

Dipinti sonori: la musica che realizzo nello spazio si configura come un grande organismo o dimensione musicale in relazione con dei piccoli nuclei, come suoni, rumori e pitture digitali. Un universo di microcosmi che si configurano su due campi temporali opposti come due poli: il primo con l’assenza di punti di riferimento di rappresentazione e il secondo timbrico e sonoro. I due si integrano, si umanizzano e si astraggono, costituendo una nuova sfera.

Sound paintings: the music I create in space is configured as a large organism or musical dimension in relation to small nuclei, such as sounds, noises and digital paintings. A universe of microcosms that are configured on two opposite time fields as two poles: the former with the absence of reference points of representation and the latter timbral and sonorous.
