March is Women’s History Month so we wanted to reflect on the life and legacy of several women from Matthews. These women helped make a difference in our town and have a special place in the history of Matthews. Read more on page 3.
Our Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resource Department has several great events coming up that we want to tell you about. This month join us for the first ever ShamROCK concert on St. Patrick’s Day. Also, two popular events return this year: Main Line Market and the Great Easter Eggspedition. Read more about these and other upcoming events on page 5.

The Town has started the process of developing a new comprehensive plan and downtown plan. We’re calling it Envision Matthews. As we kickoff the year long process, we are asking for your input by completing a survey. Read more and click to take the survey below.
2023 is the Year of the Trail in North Carolina. Mayor Higdon declared 2023 as the Year of the Trail in Matthews as well. We are fortunate to have some great options for residents to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of our town. Read more about the Year of the Trail in Matthews on page 4.
