Yoga Nidra Guided deep relaxation class 75-minute session | June 14 | 7p-8:15p | $25 Bring your yoga mat and some blankets and prepare yourself for total, deep relaxation.

This is not a physical exercise, but rather a technique for physical rejuvenation, mental relaxation, spiritual growth and overall wellness.

YOGA CLASSES AT THE MATTHEWS COMMUNITY CENTER yoga with linda oeschlaeger 6-week session | May 3-June 8 Tuesdays, 9:30am-10:30am Wednesdays, 6pm-7pm Matthews Residents: $60 Non-Residents: $65 Due to social distancing, space is limited.

basic joyful yoga with rosemary 4-week session | June 16-July 7 Thursdays, 10am-11am Have you wanted to try yoga but not sure you are up to it? This class is for you! We will practice an easy, smooth flow of basic yoga poses combined with gentle stretches and breath work. This is a great way to start strengthening your muscles, particularly your core muscles. We will begin where you are and build gently, listening to your body all the way. A key benefit is that you will develop and improve balance in this series of classes. Leave each class with a smile on your face and feeling good!

ADULT INTRODUCTORY TAP CLASSES 6-week session | May 11-June 15 | 45-minute class If you want to learn tap but never had the opportunity or danced as a child and remember it fondly, this tap class is great for beginners or dancers with some tap experience. Classes will include fundamental tap technique, movements and vocabulary, basic rhythms and combinations both across the floor and center. Broadway and jazz tap styles will be taught. Tap legends and the rich history of tap dance will be discussed as well. Dance has been proven to help with reflexes, coordination, concentration and memory!

Color of Jazz is a live jazz, soul and blues music series paying tribute to jazz greats and emerging jazz artists from America and abroad.

FREE ADMISSION! 18 & Up This event is sponsored by Culture Blocks, a community partnership between ASC, Charlotte, Mecklenburg Library and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to bring arts and cultural experience closer to where residents live. Culture Blocks is funded by Mecklenburg County.
