At our facility, you will have the opportunity to safely experience what you otherwise may not, and reap the experiential rewards. Fear testing rooms of varying sizes are equipped with a range of devices to simulate tacticle and audio-sensory experience, in conjunction with virtual reality headsets to simulate the visual experience. This combination can appropriately the bodies natural response system, allowing the individual to become comfortable with repeated exposure.
The occupiers range between ages, education levels, backgrounds - the occupiers can be anyone who has a fear they want to overcome, stressful experiences they need to become comfortable in, or those who simply want to seek an adrenaline fueled thrill.

In high-stress work positions where the safety of an individual is at risk, such as in security, combat or emergency services, making considered decisions under stress is the difference between life and death. The simulation of real-life scenario’s as a training devicefor f uture agents will lead to better outcomes, as well as making the individual more comfortable in the workplace.
The users of this space can be split into two primary groups: employees and occupiers. The employee group contains a range of professionalss specialising in emotional and physical responses: scientists, researchers, engineers and mechanics. These employees are responsible for the users safety and wellbeing, and to ensure the effectiveness of the fear testing.

80% of the participants involved in a near-death experience report a permanent improvement in their mood and emotions. This is believed to be the result of an increase in compassion and empathy for others. What if this effect could be simulated in a safe environment, socially engineering oneself to be a more caring individual.

STRUCTURAL COLUMNS
PRIMARY STRUCTURE
Structural steel columns will vertically transfer loads to the ground level. These vertical structural members will also allow for the secondary structural system to be fixed to the structural system.
The primary structure consists of a steel column, beam and slab construction. Structural steel allows for large spans to be gapped and tall heights to be reached.
FLOORPLATES & FABRIC
STRUCTURE, FABRIC & FLOORPLATES
The structural floorplates will be of reinforced concrete construction. These floorplates will be nestled into the built fabric, and will be at the same finished floor levels as the M+H building for ease of construction.
The second-order structure is a steel space frame, consisting of a triangulated frame to brace Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) panels to form the building facade. Within the existing M+H building, this framing can be easily constructed to form the building interior. For the external facade, the secondary structure will be attached to the primary structure (to engineers specifications) to transfer loads to the ground.

1. 500m site visit map depicting community mural locations found on journey
2. Photographed murals visited whilst on site
3. Layered and combined with varying opacities
5. Open collage in Illustrator, high-fidelity image trace to extract curves
6. Import curves into Rhino, red squares indicate my future iterations
7. Isolate small area within curve mass and extract
8. Arrange these curves into x, y and z planes with the help of Bounding Box
9. Project the intersections of selected curves into 3-dimensions with Crv2View
10. Extract points (vertices) of these curves with ExtractPt
11. Create a 3-dimensional mesh from these points with MeshFromPoints
12. Reduce + Simplify mesh, top view, iterations.
13. Iterations were assessed for best spatial qualities
14. Chosen iteration was then connected with M+H Building in various ways
15. Iterations were assessed again for best spatial qualities
16. Best iteration was then developed + reduced into its final form based on the idenitified locations + views as shown below.
