BY MATT THOMPSON This story was written by an absoluterly wonderful class of Grade 5 and 6 english literature students during the CoVid-19 lockdown. We constructed a story together over several weeks of online classes and at times let dice decide the outcomes of some narrative decisions. Students wrote feverishly after each session to document their characters achievements and hardships.

Chapter 1 Jaqueline

Monster At Midnight Tales about horror, heroism, and fates set in stone :o by: Brianna Gao

After causing havoc in town, Chuck had suggested that me and Luna take a vacation because we had caused much damage. I decided to answer this crazy suggestion when I get a premonition. This odd premonition was something gray attacking a place with lots of planes, which obviously is an airport, I could kind of see a structure that was tall and pointy, no doubt about it, it was the Eiffel tower, meaning that for my “vacation” I am probably gonna head to somewhere near France, or maybe that happens when I’m 50. You know what? I’m gonna suggest that we should go to Belgium, we might be able to change the future.

While on the plane, the plane had a weird logo on it, heading towards Belgium I heard scraping coming from somewhere on the plane. Luckily for me I got the window seat everyone fights for, I was able to see something gray just like my premonition on the wing of the plane.

The object which I determined to be a gargoyle started to rip the wing, causing us to land at Paris like in my premonition but in more horrifying accurate details. After an emergency landing at the airport, police came, causing the monster to smash a police car on the ground. After seeing that, everyone obviously tried to leave the plane, I was definitely one of them. But this one kid/adult? I couldn’t tell, ran out like a maniac and pulled out a bow and some arrows. Me who was wondering how the hell did he get a weapon like that onto the plane was dumbstruck, that person with the bow and arrows started shooting FIRE arrows at the gargoyle. Like in a movie the gargoyle started to head towards the person, judging by his expression I’m guessing he wasn’t trying to distract him from the police. My companion, Luna, casually says, “Someone’s gotta help that dude,” And takes off towards him using a spell without using her brain and casts a slowing spell around the gargoyle in front of everyone here. The fire bow dude decided to take that chance to “hit” the gargoyle but missed by a rather far distance.

Helicopters appeared observing this monster. Fire was spreading from the wing of the plane (ahem and that bow dude) so we had to evacuate the plane, after leaving that burning plane I saw a firefighter back that dude up. The gargoyle or I should say monster rages and flips over a cart carrying suitcases, and just my luck I see an old man stuck under an unnaturally giant suitcase. Me also not using my brain hearing someone say “Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” decided to jump to help this man. And for no reason the stupid gargoyle heads towards me, Luna seeing I was in danger cast a forcefield around me but than winces for some unknown reason, “Are you all right?” I ask knowing she’ll answer with the most common answer to that question.

“I’m fine!” Yells Luna, then she winces in pain again. Me knowing she definitely isn’t all right healed her also trying to save the old man at the same time. The gargoyle jumped, going so unnaturally high that I just stared at the sky for one minute trying to see a rope holding him up, on his way up to the moon chips it’s horn on the Helicopter. That one piece decides to land smack in my face.

The firefighter dude that was trying to help mr.fire bow and arrows casually pulled at his phone. Walked aside like a business person and dialed a phone number.

“Hey can you come here? It’s what you were talking about. You know. Your claim about the statues,” says the firefighter like nothing’s happening. I decided to continue to try to save this dude instead of listening to a weirdo.

“Hey you,” Says the person on his phone. “You and your friend come here”.

“Wait, me? And uh Jacqueline?” Asks Luna questionly at him “Uh why do I have to come?”

“Just come here, and you bow and arrow,” orders the firefighter. Mr.fire bow and arrows just shrugs and walks here. With the gargoyle high up in the sky, probably miles upwards, I guess we’re safe for now. A car suddenly swerves from somewhere, most likely through that giant hole in the fence it created. The car window rolls down, “So what about the statue Tom?” Says this odd man inside the car.

“It flew off, either way you're coming with me,” says the firefighter/Tom. “So you want us to go to the car?! Dude we aren’t stupid kids,” exclaims Luna rather rudely “why in the world would I go into a strangers car?! (Stranger danger)” says Luna.

“Uh well Luna we actually don’t have anything to do, remember we’re supposed to go to Belgium but we’re in France so technically we can do whatever we want,” I say, hoping we could do something interesting.

“Ok, ok, ok, jaq no need to tell me twice about your squashed brain we’ll just leave” waves Luna dismissing the subject and Tom. “Luna..(plus it’s called a concussion),” I say back at Luna’s wild claim.

(Ahem you're the one that got hurt) I open the car door and just sit there rather stubbornly, Luna sighs and then finally sits beside me in the car.

“Well at least we have someone willing to cooperate with us,” Says Tom, staring at Mr.fire bow and arrows.

“Sure whatever not like I have anything to do around here. (Hey aren’t you a firefighter?

Dude you still have to do work.)” he shrugs and sits in the third row. I suddenly get another premonition. It's unclear like my other premonition from before, I see a large blue and white building with people yelling and pushing running away from the building with fire pouring out of it as well. At the drivers place, who claims to be ProSocDoc, he shows us an album with millions of pictures of statues and gargoyles in weird places.

“Don’t you think it’s strange?!” He says bouncing around like I kid showing his missing teeth.

“I believe they’re alive!” Says PSD (ProSocDoc) “Or maybe possessed! Seems fishy right?” PSD whispers.

“Uh yeah?” I agree unsure if I didn’t answer he would get mad. We follow PSD back to the car, “now let’s go and see my friend Dr.Ignatz!” Says PSD happily leaving the parking lot of his apartment.

“Why are we doing this again?” I whisper to Luna.

“I dunno, you said we didn’t have anything to do, and you shrugged as if it was a good idea.” Answers Luna.

“I think I might regret this decision until I die.” I reply to Luna. We arrive at another airport.

“Why do I feel like every bad thing that happens to us in France is gonna happen in an airport?” I mutter to Luna.

“Well don’t jinx us” Luna snaps back. We had just arrived at an airport, this time it was a different one than from before. I gasped, it was blue and white just like premonition, except the premonition looked a little after sundown.

“So your friend of yours is at the airport ProSocDoc?” Asks Luna. PSD didn’t answer, he looked happy after seeing the piece of stone from the gargoyle that got chipped from it’s horn.

“I don’t trust that dude at all.” Says Mr.fire bow and arrows. Mr.fire bow and arrows had introduced himself as Tobi. Now that I notice everyone with us seems very different here. Luna, my friend, is “kind of” dangerous when she’s mad, I know that she has some sort of invisible pocket or something that can hold whatever she wants and whenever she wants. She practices magic just like me, she mostly uses her magic to help people. Most of the time…Tom was a normal French citizen except for the fact he has an axe on his back 24/7 which makes feel like he’s some sort of serial killer. Tobi doesn’t seem to have magic but uses a magic weapon (aka the famous fire starter :/). I don’t even need to talk about PSD? He's just, well, odd (like who takes pictures of gargoyles and weird stone cats?!).

“Heeeeeey dr.ignatzzz!!! I’m here!” Yells PSD not caring about all those people there.

“Hello ProSocDoc please wait here I’ll bring you and your friends (you didn’t say anything about other people) upstairs to my office!” Answers Dr.Ignatz.

“Hm, someone’s rather polite.” Whispers Luna.

“Well that’s how’d I expect a doctor to be like. (Shouldn’t he be in the hospital?)” I answer back. We’re in Dr.Ignatz boring office, the door opens, “Ok ProSocDoc, what is it th-“ Dr.ignatz said when he was interrupted by a crash from below, it sounded as if someone was breaking walls down there. It was sundown already! Just like my premonition, “Uh what was that?” I ask carefully.

“I don’t have a clu-“ says Dr.ignatz, interrupted again by another crash. Lyon now what I’m getting really annoyed by this cra-“ says Dr.ignatz annoyed, interrupted again by a rude crash he goes downstairs.

“Uh there’s a stone GARGOYLE that’s smashing WALLS!!” Yells Dr.ignatz. Tobi stands up from the hard plump looking chair and goes “Weeeeell out you go!” Says Tobi grabbing Luna and throwing her out of the window.

“What’s wrong with you?!?!” As Luna’s plummeting towards the ground.

“Don’t pretend you don’t use magic!” Yells Tobi back. You know what, I really don’t trust him.

“Well no I’m not as stupid as when I was at the airport! I don’t want to erase memories!

(It messes them up)” Answers Luna far below.

“Well at least this is a 3 story tall building.” Shrugs Tobi. “You still have time.”

“Well the impact is going to be really hard idiot.” I say back.

“Um maybe it’s time to save her instead of talking?” Suggests Tom, peering over the window rail. Tobi grabs his bow and arrows with no fire this time. And shoots an arrow through Luna's cape. She stops falling, inches away from a broken nose.

“Yay I saved the day!” Tobi says celebrating.

“Well let’s not forget who just threw someone from a building. Luna’s not moving, her look on her face suggests she’s gonna become a murderer and her first victim is gonna be Tobi.

She also looks like she’s not sure if she’s alive or not.

“I-I I think I’m gonna go onto the roof.” Stutters Luna.

“We literally saw you die in front of our eyes, why do you want to go onto the roof?!” I shout.

“There’s this unnatural cloud there.” Says Luna.

“How did you even notice that?!? When you were gonna die?!” I ask questionly.

“Nevermind how I noticed it, just get me out of this position (just please don’t let Tobi do it)” says Luna. I sigh. Then I run downstairs through the chaos and towards Luna. I pull the arrow out. Luna runs up the stairs and quickly reappears on the roof.

“Wow, guys there’s a cloud with this PERSON on it!” Says Luna, “Uh Luna did you hit your head in the fall?” Says PSD. “No seriously come up here!” Yells Luna I impatiently. We started to head upstairs to the roof. Up on the roof I saw a dark cloud with the shape of a human on it.

“Um is this an illusion you created Luna? Cause this isn’t funny.” I say, about to go back.

“I SWEAR I’M NOT DOING ANYTHING” Yells Luna. The figure seemingly turns around.

“I don’t think that’s good.” I say quietly. The cloud figure goes into the cluster of clouds up above.

“Well I think we should go…?” Says Tom awkwardly.

“Yeah definitely (you DID jinx us jaq)” Luna says slowly. We headed down without stopping until Tom was gonna touch the van. Suddenly the gargoyle flew here and planted itself between us and the van. Tom being so close to the van got hurt.

We then ran to the subway station because we didn’t have anywhere else , the airport was in ruins and everyone had fled. I suddenly got a premonition. I see a familiar statue in the subway. PSD decides to stay behind to watch his “precious” van.

“Hey um Luna, I just got a premonition and I don’t like it.” I say “Since when were your premonitions good? Just tell me what’s gonna get us in the hospital.” Says Luna insulting me at the same time.

“I saw a gargoyle down here in my premonition.” I say at last.

“I guess we’ll just find it then. Don’t want a train breaking priceless statues.” Says Luna.

“Isn’t it better if the trains do that?…right?” I say questioning myself.

“I think we should do it, smash those stupid rocks.” Says Luna.

“Stupid?” I repeat, “You guys all right? Seems as if you guys are deep in thought” asks Tom. “We’re fine, it”s just that Jaqueline got a premonition of another gargoyle. “ says Luna.

“Oh, I didn’t know you got premonitions, I guess that’s handy.” Shrugs Tom.

“If you see me stop and just stare ahead and look very dead I must’ve gotten a premonition, or I got murdered.” I say. We go down the gloomy and quiet stairs to the station.

There’s not a single soul in sight, maybe we should go onto the tracks, “Hey you guys wanted to see the statue right? I think it’s down in the tracks, the trains seem to be stopped.” I say, without saying a word everyone goes down onto the track. We head into the tunnel using the track as a guide, the tunnel is pitch black now that we're so far in. Luna summons a light down towards us, we walk for quite some time until Tom stops us, and points at an awkward looking hall or tunnel, it was narrow enough for only one person so we had to go one by one. Tobi went first, suddenly two stone lions appeared, I used a forcefield and stopped the one behind us, Tobi reached for one of his arrows, loaded it, aimed, and missed. The lion then proceeds to push Tobi away as if it’s looking for something else. Tom runs to Tobi and helps him stand up, then takes his axe and quickly turns around and throws the axe at the lion.

The stone lion crumbles as if made out of sand and water mixed together. Another stone lion comes, now there’s two again.

“What’s wrong with them? Geez I’m gonna put a forcefield up guys.” Says Kuna slightly annoyed that there’s a replacement. Luna then creates a forcefield that circles around the lions, a fog then covers the lions.

“I guess we’ll just head forwards.” I say turning around towards the front. Suddenly the forcefield’s out, Tobi with really high reaction speed throws a sword through one of the lions.

Then I see a gargoyle emerging from the fog, we start heading forwards away from the gargoyle.

“Uh, guys? There’s a very creepy looking light ahead” says Tobi, “and there’s a track here” Tobi adds stopping. There was indeed a red light shining, no, more like glowing. I squeezed past Tobi and then turned around and slapped him on the head.

“From where you're standing you should be able to tell that light is on a train, are you like blind?!” I say mad at almost giving all of us a heart attack. The train wasn’t moving nor was the light shining, it was reflecting off of Luna’s orb of light. We’re still observing the train when we see a gargoyle and one lion standing behind us.

“Hey where’d the other one go?” Asks Tom scratching his head. Tobi takes out another fire arrow and aims it at the stone lion. It crumbles like the other one. I decided that I should take the lead because I was already at the front , and went into the train through the door on the side. It’s VERY narrow. Everyone else follows me into the train. I’m standing in the doorway of a compartment and I see an orb, floating in the drivers area. The orb was slowly changing colour, I could hear a faint buzzing sound. It was kind of hypnotizing that I didn’t realize that everyone had come into the train and was staring silently at the orb.

“Guys let’s go.” I finally say breaking the eerie silence. I head towards the back of the train with the other door knowing everyone will follow me. I exit the train finding myself on a station platform. I looked at the exit, there was a forcefield covering it, blocking our only way out.

On the wall behind the forcefield, we see three symbols, fire, water, and a lightning bolt. Tobi for no reason at all turns back around and goes back into the train, I follow him just in case the gargoyles are in the train already, Tobi’s heading towards the front of the train where the orb is.

Everyone else follows, they probably don’t know where to go.

“Hey, uh Tobi shouldn’t we go ba-” I begin, but I get interrupted by Tobi saying,

“All right time to get this old girl started!” He pulls up his sleeves and zaps the engine with the little magic and brain power in him. I just stand there shocked, probably because he just exploded the engine and started a fire. Luna sighs and diminishes the fire with a wave of her hand. I walked out without saying a word, I had decided that I would rather flee then attack some sort of possessed stones. I had forgotten that we have magic with us. I took down the forcefield by waving my hand just like what Luna just did with Tobi’s common fire. Now everyones outside, but I see fog pouring out of the train, we then see the stone lion, and gargoyle from before poke their heads out from the doorway. The lion suddenly jumps out and attacks Tom, Tobi pulls out another arrow and tries to hit it but misses, in return the lion slashes Tobi’s left leg. I tried to hit the lion with a spell but my aim was very off, Luna quickly pushed my arm towards the lion. Tobi probably decided that fire wasn’t gonna help him, because he used a water attack, but before the spell could do anything to the gargoyle Tobi got zapped by the gargoyle.

“Looks like the elements don’t like you.” I say, Tom grabs his medi kit from somewhere unknown and patches Tobi up. In response Tobi just glares at me, if looks could kill, I’d be long gone. I decided watching Tobi’s attempts at attacking the gargoyle was getting boring, so I decided to attack it too. I aimed an orb towards the gargoyle when it EXPLODES for NO REASON AT ALL AND NOW I’M RAGING BECAUSE I GOT SMACKED BY A PIECE OF STONE AND NOW I SEEM LIKE A TOBI NOW. Luna finally decides to clear the fog and we make the run for the exit. We pile into PSD’s car, “Uh, we kinda need to scram” I tell PSd hoping that’ll explain everything. PSD shrugs and drives off to his apartment, it’s probably midnight now. But we don’t get ONE minute of rest when something else happens, in PSD’s apartment, his door is kicked down, all his drawers are opened and PILES of paper are EVERYWHERE. “That’s why I don’t trust this dude” Tobi whispers. Everything was dark except for PSD’s VERY brightly lit computer, it dings, scaring the souls out of us.

“Hmm, an email, from Lotrlah?” says Tom pronouncing my comrades' names VERY wrong.

“Uh I think you mean Lola?” says Luna, unsure.

“Dude how can’t you pronounce that?!” I say looking at Tom as if he's a weirdo, “Geez give me a break, I’m French not like you weird people from america or something.” Tom throws back at me, I’m offended but I think I offended more people in my life than him so…

Wassup jaq, and luna!!!

Idk how to write a letter on these bad boys (a comPUTER) so shaddup, either way we got some crazy numbers of attacks from brooklyn, so yea. Also let’s just say Calvin is never gonna forgive u (jaq tack) for the nosebleed u gave him in the water tower. And Luna, u know ur fav veggie is going on sale and ur missin’ it!!!!!!!

Oh! & there’s this weirdo that shows up whenever there’s an attack! So we’re gonna punch that dude in hisgutss!

Luv, ​LLLLOOOOOLLLAA​ :> “That’s the shortest and the craziest email I’ve ever gotten, also who decided it was a good idea to let Lola touch a computer?!?!?!??!!!!” I say in one breath, I think I’m gonna faint.

We camp out at PSD’s place until we get rudely awakened by Tom’s phone.

“Smack it good will y’a?” Luna mumbles half sleeping on a cold hard stone chair.

“It’s just my phone geez, ok either way, apparently there’s 7 missing statues?!

And 7 statues found in weird places like roads?! 7 Children are missing?! Well they SHOULD realize that they’re connected.” Tom rants.

“Heeeey, why do I see my organization's car outside?!” Tobi says pointing at the window.

“How’re we supposed to know?! And you’re in an organization?!” I say looking at Tobi as if he’s crazy.

“Oh sorry, I’m from this organization that gets filed reports of stuff and we have to check it out. Anyway I got sent here but my mentor told me to do nothing crazy.” Tobi says rolling his eyes.

“Oh really? ‘Nothing Crazy’ yeah yeah yeah. I see now, but I don't see why they hired someone like you!” Luna says pointing her finger at Tobi.

“Well I don’t like the fact they have to follow you around. And how did they find us?!” Luna continues, glaring at Tobi. I hear thunder then I see an unmistaken flash of lightning. Then rain decides to come. I look out at the van parked across the building, and I see the weird logo I saw on the plane. The logo was simple yet odd, it was a briefcase, with a bunch of rocks and a wand inside it. What type of logo is that?!?! My baby niece would have thought of something better. I suddenly go stiff, I feel a premonition coming. The premonition is unclear. Like my other recent ones. I see skeletons, wait no, actually yes those ARE skeletons. Some sort of light blasts them to smithereens, another wave of skeletons come, I can tell that we’re probably in the infamous catacombs. I then see another thing sometime in the future, someone falling from a window?! My senses finally return me to the present.

“Nothing’s wrong you don’t have to care about a thing in life.” PSD says, he turns around and takes out two knives.

“Uh did something happen when I was gone?” I whisper to Luna, Luna just stares at PSD in shock.

“Nothing’s wrong, don’t you agree?” PSD continues, sending chills down our spines. I make a run for the door but meet a gigantic lock on it. Tobi turns around and throws his fire sword at PSD but misses.

“Dang it!! There IS something wrong with this crazy monster!” Tobi yells frustrated.

“That’s not nice right, nothing’s wrong here.” PSD continues. Then a purple orb comes out of him like it’s his soul or something. I duck, weird orb things freak me out when they come out of people. I cover my ears and every

window, glass, porcelain, mirror, and lightbulb shatters. Basically every shatterable thing shattered. Me and PSD were the only ones safe from this weird thing.

“Uh guys, did you guys just wreck my house after seeing a van?!” PSD says, raising his eyebrows.

“Actually you just did that yourself! You need some control over your emotions geez.” Tobi says, probably thinking PSD remembered that.

“Yeah pretty sure you just got possessed by something. (seen that happen SO many times)” Luna says dismissing what just happened like it was nothing but a fly.

“I DON'T TRUST YOU!” Tobi yells and aims a fire arrow at PSD. And of course Tobi misses and sets the kitchen on fire. Luna sighs and puts out the fire, “Hey Tom, aren’t you supposed to be putting out the fires?” she says glancing at Tom. Tom was slinking backwards, guess he didn’t want to then.

“Well well well, what happened here?” says a bossy looking woman. This woman had blonde and wavy hair like those in ad’s. She wore a black skirt and a red blouse with a business-like jacket. Her voice also sounded business-like.

Then two men came down through the broken window and landed beside her like bodyguards. Those two men looked identical, black hair, sunglasses, same height and same business suits. They all carried briefcases with the weird logo on it.

“You two. Fix up the window won’t you? Don’t want your boss to get wet from this soggy rain” she says, and snaps her finger. Everyone stared at these odd people. The bodyguards seemed more like henchmen, they were patching the window up with a tarp and staples.

“My boys are fast at work aren’t they?” The lady says sitting down and drinking the coffee she had just taken out.

“They’re trained for every scenario.” she says. “Oh my, I haven’t introduced myself how rude of me, I’m chantelle, I’m in a different department so you may not recognize me Tobi.” she continues and then snickers.

“NOT remember you?! Of course I remember YOU.” Tobi says in a very not Tobi like voice. “You complained that Dewey was bad and got him fired!” Tobi says glaring at her.

“Well it’s not my fault for having some dislikes, not to mention my high title might’ve made him punished a little TOO severely.” she snorts like it was just a little thing that happened. “Well I’m glad you remember him. I almost forgot him until you reminded me” she says and then snickers in another creepy way.

“Soooo how do you know this lady that just came out of nowhere?” I ask Tobi. Tobi doesn’t say anything.

“Oh you’re asking how me and ol’ Tobi know each other?” she asks, peering at me with her shallow eyes. I’m pretty sure she’s way older than Tobi.

“Oh excuse me does anyone want coffee?” she asks, ignoring what she just said to us .

“So how is your investigation going Tobi? How far did you get?” Chantelle asks peering at Tobi as if she had reading glasses on. Tobi just glares at her in response, I activate my telepathy and hear him think, We haven’t gone far because of you! I give a confused glance at Tobi, Tobi looks back and thinks, wait do you have telepathy? Yeah I answer back without saying a word. Can you do all of us? Tobi asks, turning his head back around. Sure, I say back. Hey everyone don’t listen to that old hag. Then I stop the telepathy. I suddenly get a feeling, another premonition. This premonition is way more unclear than before, there’s fire around me and Luna’s in front of me. Luna’s looking at something behind me and gaping at it. She then says “Dad?” in this gaping tone like she’s looking at a rare animal. I’m back at the present.

“Soooo what just happened to her?” Chantelle asks, sipping her tea.

“Premonition.” Luna says.

“Oh my, then you should know who I am . I’m planning to stay here longer than you want me to.” She says smirking at us. I don’t plan on telling Luna this because she’ll freak out and put out every fire she sees.

“Anyways, one of my men will come and go with you guys to the library.

So hurry up!” Chantelle says and snaps her fingers.

We’re at the library with one of her henchmen, we walked past the front desk no problem and walked into “The forbidden place” without a hitch either.

“This doesn’t SEEM forbidden to me.” I say as we walk into an old dusty room. No one answers me.

“I’ll leave you guys here and I’ll come back soon to bring you guys abc to m’lady.” the man says closing the door behind him. Luna plops onto an old sofa and looks around, she pulls out an equally dusty book from the bookshelf.

“Uh what are we doing here?” I ask.

“Chantelle suggested we came here to do some research for some reason.” Tom says shrugging.

“Hey guys look at this!” Luna says showing us a picture of a cat dancing in one of those ancient books.

“Seriously Luna?” I say, “Is that really helpful?”

“Look at the words you idiotic human!” Luna says and smacks we with the book. Beside the odd picture of the cat there was a paragraph, the paragraph went something like this;

nce upon a time, there was stone everywhere you looked, and among this vast

sea of rocks was a village. A group of travelers set foot here once, and left leaving almost all rocks missing. They had taken the sacred rocks from the village, for what you ask? In their

city they had built thousands upon thousands of statues of animals and gargoyles from the sacred rocks of Vlale. The travelers were also known as wizards, they belonged to the city Aris.p, the city now covered with stone carvings. A few years later, a mother was telling her children a famous legend. “In this city lies the guardians that will keep you safe. Four wize old wizards founded an organization. The organisation was made to keep our town safe, they enchanted rocks that they hand carried from the legendary Vlale. The rocks were first carved into animals and then enchanted to become alive, but they were made out of the same stone of Vlale. But one day these stone creatures rebelled against us, no one knew why, perhaps they were angry or they wanted freedom. No one ever knew until they had a bit of proof that the organisation that had created them wanted the village for themselves! Everyone was chased out of Aris.p.” the mother had finished telling the story, and so these children sat in wonder processing this silly old tale thinking it was false. Every year on that day, they always held stone carving contests. That same day that story was told, that town was attacked by stone creatures. A few years later another group of travellers came to this town, having heard of this tale. And now there’s a new organisation in the city of light.

“Well isn’t it obvious that Aris.p is Paris?” I say looking at everyone else.

“Geez I haven’t finished reading yet!” Tobi yells, “Calm down will you?” Luna says staring at Tobi, “after all I'M the one who found it” Luna brags.

“Look at what I found! An old boring tale” Tobi says mimicking Luna. “Yeah yeah whatever.” Tobi continues saying in his normal voice. Luna opens her mouth to argue back when Tom cuts her off.

“Hey what’s the name of the organisation?” Tom asks.

“Umm, it doesn’t say.” Luna says glancing at the dusty book again. “Why do you ask?” Luna says thinking for any reason.

“Y’know just in case there IS an actual organisation,” Tom says shrugging.

“You just read what I read, all they said was four wizards or something,” Luna says. “Maybe you should flip the page, there might be something else,” I say, taking the book from Luna.

“Hey I was right! See look, it says ‘After chasing everyone out the wizards decided that the statues of Aris.p are too dangerous and chased the statues out to somewhere else,’” I read. “What a weird book,” I say reading the cover of the book.

“Luuunnaaaa, why didn’t you just look at the title firstttttt????” I say showing her the title, it says theories of how the city of light came to be.” I sigh slapping my forehead.

“Well I did just pull it off randomly and flip to a random page.”Luna says defensively. I sigh and then put the book on the also dusty table.

“Hmm, what if the organisation is back!” Tom says looking around at us.

“Your imagination is going wild dude,” Tobi says reading a book.

“You know, he might be right. There's a lot of magic users nowadays.” I say thinking over what Tom just said.

“It IS super easy to cast a possessing spell, would you like me to do it?” Luna says excited.

“Uh no thanks,” Tobi says, backing away from the crazy looking Luna.

“Tom you all right?” Tobi asks looking away from Luna. “you look like you just noticed something creepy,” Tobi says to Tom who was standing still and looking out the window with a pale face. I go to take a look and see nothing wrong.

“Huh?” I say looking back at Tom questionly.

“Th-the statue just walked up to its perch!” Tom says, looking around at us wildy.

“What?!” Luna exclaims looking at the statue. The statue of an owl slowly looked towards us plopped down onto the street below us.

“G-guys? What should w-we do?” I shakingly say.

“Uh I think that henchman dude is gonna pick us up?” Luna says nervously.

Suddenly Tobi’s phone rang scaring all four of us at once.

“Oh it’s just your phone,” I sigh glancing back at the stone owl that didn’t move an inch.

“Chantelle says she’s coming soon,” Tobi informs us.

“Well I don’t want anything to do with that crazy old bat,” Tom says, opening the window and hoping out.

“Uh I think he’s gone crazy?” I say back at the three of us left. “Hey Tom you all right?” I yell down, also glancing at the stone owl.

“Well I don’t want to do Chantelles’s bidding so I’m going dooooowwwn” I say hopping out behind Tom. Tobi goes “Wait shouldn’t we tell her that we don’t want to do her stuff?” Tobi yells down looking at Luna at the same time.

Luna shrugs and says,”Don’t look at me, I’m going with them,” and jumps down too. Tobi looks torn, deciding to either stay with us strangers or stay with his weird company.

“Well no way am I gonna get fired for jumping out of a building!” And crosses his arms and sits down. We hear a door open and the sound footsteps.

“Uhh, Tobi? I think that’s the man that works for Chantelle? Maybe you should come down?” Tobi just looks the opposite way at the door.

“Ugh, what a big baby,” Luna mutters under her breath. She summons her wings or something, and flies up, pulls Tobi and gets dragged all the way down from the window.

“Why are you so heavy?!” Luna yells at Tobi.

“I don’t know! I think someone is holding onto me!” Tobi yells back.

“Guys? There’s an extra guest,” I say pointing at the henchman holding onto Tobi.

“Hide!” Tom whispers to me.

“Um okkkk?” I say ducking behind a boulder. “What about the stone owl?” I ask looking at the owl.

“It hasn’t done anything, so I guess we’re fine.” Tom says, still staring at Luna and Tobi.

“Guys be careful! Luna try not to wobble. I'm gonna jinx that dude!” I yell, also exposing the plan to the man. I point at him and notice he has a knife in his mouth! Well he definitely has to go down. Then I focus back onto pointing my finger somehow threateningly to him, he falls down and slams his face onto the parking lot.

“Hey guys why did he have a knife in his mouth,” I ask looking around at them.

“I don’t trust them, come here!” Tom says waving his arm at a tired Luna and a scared Tobi. The van with the logo on it suddenly screeches into view, the other henchman comes out and drags his buddy back onto the van. The window rolls down, and I see Chantelle’s face. She’s looking at Luna and Tobi and suddenly turns around and looks at us. Then I hear the unmistakable voice of Chantelle in my head, it must be telepathy, her mouth isn’t moving but it sounds as if someone placed a phone beside you ear and called you. ‘Hide all you want, I’ll find you. It might be good to run away from me.’ She tells all four of us using telepathy. She smirks and drives away.

“Well I’m gonna take her advice and run,” I say, I stand up and brush off the stuff that’s been clinging to me. Luna also stands up from her awkward sitting position. We head down the street, unnecessaryly ducking behind bins and bus shelters. After being dragged from the parking lot to behind a dumpster by Tom, Tobi stands up and walks to a car. Nothing wrong right? Well nope. Tobi lifts up his fist in a weird way and PUNCHES THE POOR CAR’S WINDOW. Luna looks at Tobi tiredly and flies away with her wings.

“Well I’m not cleaning up after him,” Luna says, glancing at the blank-faced Tobi who’s now climbing into the car with it’s alarm screeching. I look around anxiously, Luna ran off, Tobi’s gone crazy, and Tom is just standing there. I look around and notice that we’ve moved away from the dumpster. We’re out in the open, I dive behind a fence that’s part of a restaurant patio. Tom looks around, perplexed. He glances at me and hides on the opposite side of me. The restaurant’s quite deserted, so our cover shouldn’t be blown. Except maybe Tobi will blow our cover, he’s clambering into the front seat and looks at the car. Then we see the black van with the infamous white logo, I freak out and put it in fire with my magic. Or I just blew their car key into pieces. They all decamped after finding out about their key, Chantelle's there. She looks not troubled at all, she pulls out a spare key from somewhere and starts up the engine again. I see Luna look back and fly further away at seeing Chantelle. Chantelle suddenly looks directly at me through her rolled down window and smirks. ‘You know what, to convince you guys to come to me. I’m gonna plow up the restaurant with the people inside.’ Chantelle says through telepathy. I glare at her and say back through telepathy, ‘You can’t do anything when I put a forcefield up!’ I’m the only one who can answer her through telepathy because I have telepathy. I then put up a forcefield that traps them in a circle. Chantelle smirks.

“She’s gonna use magic!” Tom says, “It’s no use!” Tom finally acts like an actual firefighter and starts evacuating people. People actually listen because he’s wearing his firefighter suit.

“It’s dangerous here!” Tom says in french. The customers look startled as they leave the restaurant. The confused people are all out according to Tom, and as the last customer comes out a blue beam explodes the whole restaurant.

“Oops, my timing was a little off,” Chantelle says, smirking again. Tobi looks around at the commotion and shakes his blank look away. He sees Chantelle and seems to yelp and runs away. I look at Chantelle and face my hand towards her, she looks at me calmly. I begin to cast a sleeping spell when a voice in my head goes. ‘Oh no you won’t’ this time it isn’t Chantelle. It’s the “rent voice thingamajig”. ‘Today’s paydayyyyy!’ it says. ‘Burn the car you “friend” just broke into’ it says, cackling. ‘No can do’, I say, retracting my hand and crossing my arms. I must look weird I think to myself opening one eye and pleasingly sees Chantelle confused. The forcefield falls. ‘Oh you will, don’t you want to make her fall into a nice beauty sleep to fix her dog's end face?’ It says. It made a good point so I gave in and burned the car Tobi just fled from. ‘Now that’s a good girl.’ It says. ‘Call me good girl and I will forcibly rip you from my mind’ I say back. ‘I won’t leave either way, I’ll come back on your next payday.’ It says. Chantelle’s back in her disgusting black van. But then she comes out wearing a police outfit that suited her stern look perfectly in many ways.

“Go on in,” Chantelle says, acting.

“I shall refuse.’ I say back in a formal manner.

“I cannot let you ref-” Chantelle continues. But I walk up to her, put my hand in front of her face, and cast a sleeping spell on her and her henchmen.

“Sorry but you have no choice,” I smirk at her.

“Phew, that was dramatic” I say, turning around. I turn around and sigh. I face my hand towards the people Tom just evacuated.

“Just gonna clean your memory of these horrid memories of Chantelle and magic,” I say in my so-called “French”. Luna comes back from her “scouting”.

“I leave to scout for one minute and this happens.” Luna says as she plops down and adds.

“That was a VERY dramatic play I was watching.” Luna whispers to me. I give her a glare that says, I only did that so I could have some fun with Chantelle’s horrid acting. We crash into PSD’s van as he pulls up his van.

“Did I come here on time?” He asks looking at the one body of the unconscious Chantelle. “Um ok,” PSD says looking away. Suddenly Luna’s phone goes off in her hand.

“Ok everyone PLEASE PUT YOUR COMMUNICATION DEVICES TO SILENT!” I yell.

“Then shut up.” Luna sighs. “(What? Your annoying voice IS a communication device)” “Whatever you say. I’m too tired to argue with you,” I say back, putting my arm over my eyes. “Wait a minute, you only get notifications from your favourite game, and from our company!” I jump up and look at Luna.

“Well yeah it’s from Lola,” Luna says, equally tired as me. “Uh here’s what she said,” handing her phone over to me.

“Someone murder her for me,” I say sighing.

“Accidentally?” Luna says, raising her eyebrows. “Yeah I’ll do it,” Luna says, closing her phone again.

“So where are we going again?” I ask PSD. “The hospital,” PSD answers, and checks his phone.

“What!? WHY?!” I ask, suddenly I’m energized.

“Because one of my friends is there? And my apartment is wrecked?” PSD says shrugging. I sit back and sigh, I suddenly get a premonition. This premonition is almost the same as before, there’s fire everywhere and Luna’s staring behind me and gasps Dad. But this time, he answers her, “Hello there,” he says. I come back to the present and realize something. The voice in my head sounded exactly like Luna’s father. I try to refresh my mind by looking out the window when I see fire everywhere.

“Is that the fire I started or the fire from Chantelle's laser beam?” I ask looking at the bright orange flames.

“I think those are yours, when you burnt the car?” Luna says, eyes closed.

“The reason we have to go to the hospital.” PSD adds.

“What?! You said it was because your apartment was wrecked!” I say looking at PSD. “Well you gave Tobi quite a shock. (he still doesn’t trust me so I can’t do it)” PSD Says.

“Yeah right,” I say, crossing my arms. “His fault for breaking into someone’s car,” I say under my breath.

We’re at the hospital now, this nurse or doctor named Rassie treats the somehow brunt Tobi. I literally saw Tobi run away from the car, and he got burned?! We stay there half conscious, half unconscious, suddenly there’s a power outage. ‘That sleeping spell wasn’t as strong as you would’ve liked it to be wasn’t it? I found you guys.’ Chantelle says through telepathy.

“Well that’s not good,” Tom says looking around alert. I suddenly lose consciousness. I finally come back to my senses and see Tom throw his axe through a monster that I had yet to notice. Luna comes to me, “Hey we have to look for PSD’s car.” Luna says looking around. I’m on the floor of the parking lot.

“Hey...What’s Tobi doing with Rassie?” I ask pointing at an orb that they’re poking at.

“Uh.. they claim to be trying to destroy it?” Luna says unsure. Tobi then steps back and jabs the orb with his sword, a weird vapour pours out of the orb and Tobi takes a lungful of it.

Tobi suddenly looks confused,

“What?! What do you mean?! Wait, answer me!” Tobi suddenly says to no one in particular.

“Um, are you in shock again?” Rassie asks Tobi.

“No, I’m fine,” Tobi says, quickly shaking his head.

“Why are we at the Catacombs?” I ask.

“Uh you shouldn’t ask me.” Luna says shrugging.

“Well what are you guys waiting for?” Tobi yells impatiently. Tobi starts to head to the center of the catacombs without waiting for our answers. The catacomb is damp dark, it smells like dust and wood for some reason. We walk and walk in a twisting maze until we’re in a different place.

“Wait is this like a gift shop?” I ask, finally paying attention to where we’re going.

“I don’t know,” Tobi said, also glancing around us, “It doesn’t have any skulls…” Tobi continues. We look around, we’re suddenly in a corridor that’s gray and a bit damp just like before. There’s three passages, one in front, one on the right and one on our left.

“Let’s head right.” Rassie says scaring me.

“Wait what are you doing here?” I ask her, surprised.

“Oh I asked her if she wanted to come along aaand yeah.” Tom says shrugging.

“I have nothing to do.” Rassie adds. I look around again and head right just like Rassie suggested. Tobi seemed bummed out, and Luna seems to be sulking. I hear something that sounds like Tobi making a bad decision and breaking into something. And I’m right, Tobi broke into one of many rooms in this corridor.

“Why’d you do that?!” Luna says shocked. Tobi doesn’t answer, he heads inside and everyone follows without comment. The room was quite small, it was like a cell. It was just like the corridors, damp and cold. Inside was a woman, no, an old woman.

“Why is she down here?” I whisper to Luna.

“I dunno.” Luna whispers back to me, keeping an eye on the woman. + “Where’s the crystal ball?” Tobi demands suddenly.

“Tobi what are you doing?!” I whisper angrily at him. Suddenly the woman lurches at Tobi and grabs his leg and attacks him. What should I do? Obviously stay calm and pull her back or something. But I karate chop right at her throat.

“Did I kill her?! Oh noooooo, did I kill an old lady?” I ask looking at the woman.

“Um, you CAN check her pulse.” Rassie suggests stepping forward.

“I don’t want to do that.” I say backing away.

“Uh, let’s go?” Tom says walking away. Tobi stands up and brushes himself.

“Geez I was only asking for a crystal ball.” Tobi says grumpily. Me and Luna head back the corridor and go to the middle corridor. Instead of rooms, there’s one giant room in the middle with no doors. Luna heads in front of me and heads in, then she stops, she’s half covered by darkness. Luna looks confused and scared at the same time, I decide to head in a little bit to see what’s going on. I walk slowly and carefully when I suddenly bump into someone! I turn around slowly and see a man, he’s kind of dirty and he’s holding a rusty dagger.

“Hm, what are you waiting for? Mistress is waiting.” He says pointing his dagger at Luna and the darkness. I hear voices now, they’re muttering something. That’s what seemed to

confuse and scare Luna. I pretend I know what he means and heads down there covering my face so Luna doesn’t recognize me. I finally see everything clearly, but it’s still quite dark. I see a bunch of people wearing what appear to be black robes, they're all the same height, they stand in a circle with Luna standing a little to the side. I blend in with the group of muttering people, but I see someone in the middle of the circle. This person is taller and is muttering way louder than all of them. The tall person then steps forwards and takes Luna’s hands, Luna looks surprised. Then the tall person and Luna disappear somewhere. Tobi (or Korine), Rassie, and Tom come in, Tobi looks around.

“Where did Luna go?” Tobi continues to search, not questioning the four remaining muttering people.

“I don’t know, I think you should check over there,” I say, pointing at the only doorway left, “Wait ther-.” I say but Tobi continues to walk to where I pointed to. Tobi then triggers the almost invisible rope there. Suddenly a gate comes down. Everything's like in slow motion, Tobi has a chance to jump back but Tobi’s brain decides to make him jump FORWARD into the room. I flinch when I see the gate crash into Tobi’s back.

“Only if you listened.” I said shaking my head. Someone magically lifts the gate and we walk inside. Because it seems that there is nowhere else to go. Even the four remaining cultists head in. This room is almost identical to the room from before. The cultists make a half circle and I finally see the tall person emerge. Luna’s with the tall person. I can’t believe we just saw our plane crash, follow a stranger, and get trapped in some cult that was in the catacombs. So much of a vacation. Then we suddenly hear Chantelles piercing voice echoing through the walls, it’s not magic this time. It’s just a plain old microphone now.

“So we’ll sacrifice these people?” Asks Chantelles voice to no one in particular. I wonder if the cultists still think I’m with them. Suddenly an orb comes out of nowhere, it stretches and takes the form of a wheel. It’s one of those spinning wheels! Except there’s nothing written or illustrated on it.

“You shall spin it! The majestic wheel!” Chantelle says almost enjoying this TOO much.

Tom steps forwards and spins it. The wheel spins, while the wheel spins illustrations slowly fade in. Tom lands on an octopus tentacle. Tom stands there and starts shuddering, as quickly as it started he stopped.

“What.” I say confused. Tobi steps forwards and lights the wheel on fire. Typical. The wheel continues to spin, not taking any damage. Tobi gets this thing that says, Wheel of fortune; spin again. Tobi spins the fiery wheel again, this time he gets a table with six goblets on it. Tobi drinks the fourth goblet from the left. Suddenly orbs fly out of the goblets and attack Tobi. Tobi’s really banged up, he then proceeds to pull out a medi kit from somewhere and heals himself.

One of the cultists steps forwards. He spins the wheel, he gets this noose thing. Suddenly a noose comes out of nowhere and hangs him, he gets pulled somewhere by the noose. The other three cultists are just standing there shocked seeing one of their comrades die.

Everybody’s just standing there shocked.

“Ah we’re finally getting somewhere.” Chantelle says, sounding happy. Rassie recovers from this shock and spins the wheel. She gets a tentacle thing similar to Tom’s.

“W-Why is everyone doing this?” I say, still shocked that Chantelle will kill without hesitating. Nobody answers me. Another cultist walks shakily and spins the wheel, they get a

globe. Nothing happens, there’s an eerie silence. Then he shrugs and walks away. I decided to get over this. I step up and spin the wheel, I get a table with three goblets. After seeing what happened to Tobi I just backed away.

“Hmm, I guess you can do that.” Chantelle says, sounding bored. Tobi just stands there looking shocked that he had to get attacked and I didn’t. One of the last two cultists stands forwards. I notice he’s the rusty dagger dude, he gets this weird sword illustration. He backs away looking frightened, no sword comes out and stabs him, just silence. Until his dagger suddenly turned into a glittery sword that no one can refuse. Luna spins the wheel, probably because everyone's luck seems better now, she gets this thing called “The four wands.”

Suddenly four orbs circle Luna. Luna has this scared face on, she then pulls out her spell book and attacks two of the orbs with one of the spells in the book. The two orbs disappear, one of the orbs attacks Luna and also disappears. The last orb’s coming when Luna uses a forcefield and bursts the orb. Tobi’s in the back of the room looking really frustrated. The wheel rolls away, everyone’s spun the wheel, behind the wheel is a tunnel leading to somewhere unknown.

“Um so we go?” Rassie says, looking uncertain. She indicates the tunnel looking at us.

“Yeah I guess so.” Luna says stepping towards the tunnel. We head further into the damp tunnel.

“Who is stomping back there?!” I yell to the people behind me. Someone's stomping REALLY loudly back there. I look around and notice Tobi stomping around. He’s probably still pissed off from being the only one getting attacked by orbs back there. Then I see a faint light up ahead.

At the end of the Tunnel is a dark hallway, there IS a source of light around here. It’s these yellow rectangular lights placed on the wall. The lights are placed so awkwardly they’ve probably given people OCD. There are also doors here, they’re metal and rusty looking. All of the doors have windows, most of them are dark, except for the one closest to us. There’s a bright light that seems to be imitating the sun.

“This one is my second favourite one!!” Chantelle says sounding worked.

“Whatever she thinks is nice probably sucks.” I whisper to Luna. Tobi looks REALLY frustrated now. Suddenly, “Well screw this!” Tobi yells walking rather violently down the hall.

“Well I didn’t want to do this but…” Chantelle says, sounding happy. Suddenly Tobi’s back beside us, the tunnel door is closed off too now. In front of us is a wall. The door with the light is the only visible door.

“Gotta play by the rules,” Chantelle says. “If you can’t beat or do whatever’s behind the door, then you’ll stay here forever!” she continues. She then ends her speech with a half hearted laugh. Tobi looks at the ceiling with hatred as if he can see Chantelle. Then he angrily walks towards the door and pulls it open with no problem. I stood there shocked, the door looked as if you needed to break it down to enter. Even Tobi looks confused, he then struts in without even looking inside. Luna, Rassie, Tom and me poke our heads in to see a green gooey thing suspended by nothing. No... It looked like it was floating. Tobi leans in, and whenever someone does that in movies something always grabs their face. And that’s what the goo did. It launched itself at Tobi and Tobi shrieked loudly. There was a hissing sound, the goo was

burning Tobi. Tobi grabs at the goo and throws it off of him, he then runs out and to the next area. The wall was gone, we could see the next door and the wall behind it. Rassie and Luna had also backed away from the weird acid like goo.

“Uh is Tom in there by himself with that goo?” I ask with uncertainty. Rassie nods. I poke my head slowly through the door. I see the goo attack Tom and Tom spraying it with water just in time. Or at least I thought so. The goo latches itself to Tom, Tobi suddenly comes through the door and takes out his medi kit. He then proceeds to heal his light burn right in front of Tom who probably just got a third or second degree burn. Tom then sprays the goo with a fire extinguisher that was probably reserved for Tobi. After being sprayed the goo turned to ice.

“W-What type of good is that?” I stutter in horror.

“Do you like it? One of my men found it in a mission in the amazon jungle when he encountered this beauty. It’s quite loyal, it’s also a great guard for my stuff.” Chantelle says dreamily. How can anyone find that thing beautiful (except for Chantelle)? I get that it’s a great guard but it gives people horrible burns! I’m petrified, I stand there rigid in shock. I decided to blast the ice/goo? Away when the Time-To-Pay-Rent-For-No-Reason-In-Particular voice comes.

‘Time to pay your rent!’ it says happily. ‘Why do I have to pay rent? I didn’t rent anything.’ I say back, fed up with this nonsense.‘Ah ha, I can’t tell you that!’ It says back, Tobi’s still standing in front of Tom healing himself, Luna and Rassie are still down the hall. ‘Fine,’ I say caving in ‘What do I have to burn now?’ I ask, rolling my eyes. Silence is the answer I get. Suddenly three goblets appear out of nowhere, I chose the one on the right. This burning acid like liquid goes down my throat, I spit it out just in time for it to not permanently hurt me. After seeing Tobi heal himself and see me look confused and drink something spit, Tom decides to finally smash the ice/goo. The ice crumbles away, we head out.

“So you guys aren’t gonna attempt to leave anymore are you?” Chantelle says bored.

“Either way I’m gonna lift up these walls.” She continues with her drawling tone. We head out of the first room, we walk out and look at the second door, we hear a low hissing noise.

“Help me!” a voice pleads, “Please I’ve been here for a while now! Someone captured me and brought me here!” It continues to plead. Tobi looks at the door, he opens it a tiny bit.

Aaaand he slams the door when the hissing starts up again… Tobi walks to the next door ignoring the pleas for help. Tobi thrusts the door open and inside we see a green thingamajig, I linger near the door with the cries of help but decide to have a closer look at this thing. The “thing” looks like a goblin from fairy tales, it was green and tiny, it looks like Dobby, except it’s personality on the other hand...Tobi steps forwards without a hint of fear or curiosity, “Where’s the crystal orb?!” Tobi asks glowering at the tiny creature like it was nothing but trash. “ ˪ 〪,” the goblin says.’ Can you shut up’ is what he means. “​ところで、あなたは変人です、あなたのばかを残してください.” The goblin continues looking away.

“What did that little green trash bag say to me?” Tobi says enraged.

“Uh I dunno what language the first sentence meant but the second was in japanese.” I say, carefully translating his insults.

“Oh, he said ‘By the way you sound like a weirdo, please leave me alone you idiot’ in his second sentence.” I say hastily turning my snicker into a cough. Tobi looks like he would blow up the whole entire place.

“What did you just say to me y-you mutt!” Tobi yells at the goblin. “我想要休息一下却你这个傻瓜来了要一个球!” The goblin continues, looking away.

“He just said in mandrain that he was resting until a big stupid head came and asked for a ball” I say snickering.

“Y-you bastard!” Tobi says. “I know you have it!” “ମଁୁ ନୁେହଁ! ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ େମାେତ ଛାଡିଦିଅ “ the goblin says back.

“He just said something crackhead.” I say retreating to my phone to use 'Listen ‘an translate. “⍰⍰⍰⍰⍰⍰⍰⍰” the goblin says back crossing his arms.

“He just said leave him alone in a ¿¿¿language,” I say looking back at my phone.

“NO! I know you have the crystal ball!” Tobi says refusing. The goblin looks up at him and starts attacking him.

“Huh, the goblin could’ve been a nice comrade but ok.” I say sighing.

“Yep” Luna nods, agreeing with me. Luna, Rassie, Tom, and me have retreated out of the room. Tobi threw the goblin off at last and closed the door behind him.

“Uh next door?” Rassie says awkwardly. At the next door we heard hissing, it sounded the same as the other door.

“Someone open it.” Tom says, Tom backs away though. I fling open the door, inside is a three headed snake.

“What th-” I say but I get cut off by Tom. “Is that even a snake?!” Tom yells panicking, he takes his axe and swings it at the snake. He manages to cut off two of it’s heads. Now everything is confusing, more heads grow out of the cut of heads. It’s a truly terrifying view. Tom cuts those heads and more come out, everyones panicking. I mean, there’s a snake with like a million heads protruding out of it. Tobi then suddenly sets the snake on fire. And we all decide to run out of the room. We should've done that earlier. We’re in the hall now, but suddenly a wall comes crashing down.

“Ohhhhh, do you think I would let you go yet? You slammed the other door shut, y’know the one with the hissing and the pleas of help?” Chantelles says. She’s not talking in her formal manner anymore. We all sigh, Tobi walks back down the hall and we follow. But when Tobi opens the door, he stops moving. He seems to be frozen in shock.

“Uh Rassie, you're a doctor right?” I ask, staring at Tobi.

“Um yeah?” She says unsure.

“Is there something wrong with our maniac?” I ask.

“I don’t know…” Rassie answers. Luna walks up to Tobi unbothered by this. She taps his head.

“Hey knucklehead, wake up.” Luna says and steps back. Nothing happens.

“Did you really think that’ll really wor-” I say, but Tobi suddenly moves. “Wait what.” I say shocked. “Um so what’d you see?” I ask Tobi. Tobi doesn’t answer, he slams the door.

“Wait no please help me! I didn’t mean to!” the voice says.

“Huh?” I say, really confused. “Dude if you do that we’ll be stuck here!” I say back to my senses.

“Yeah, what in there could’ve scared anyone like that?” Luna says, raising her eyebrows.

“I don’t think he was shocked…” Rassie says.

“What do you mean?” Tom asks, suddenly curious.

“Don’t ask me!” Rassie says backing away. “Ask him!”

“So what did you see?” Luna asks peering at Tobi.

“Was that a snake woman?” Tobi gasps suddenly.

“Snake? Woman?” I ask, even more confused.

“Oh I think he means Medusa!” Tom says suddenly.

“Have you lost your mind?” Luna says backing away from Tom. “Medusa’s from a legend! Or a myth, who cares what it's called, but she’s fiction!” Luna says.

“Oh so they say I’m fake?” The voice says, it suddenly stopped pleading.

“Wait so ARE you Medusa?” I ask, backing away from the door.

“Yeah that’s my name...And I do have snakes on my head.” Medusa says. We all stand there in silence. I use my telepathy to hear everyone else's thoughts. Tom’s thinking about if Tobi was paralyzed, is it actually her? Luna’s thinking about how in the world has someone become like this. And everyones basically thinking the same things.

“Soooo you want us to save you?” I ask.

“Yeah. Don’t worry I put on this pillow case over my head.” Medusa says. “So you guys won’t be turned into stone.” She adds.

“Where did you get the pillow case from?” I ask, suddenly suspicious.

“Do you think I don’t sleep?” Medusa asks, sounding hurt.

“Well no…” I say awkwardly.

“How do we know you don’t have a knife?” Tobi asks suddenly. I’m suddenly curious too, I use my telepathy to hear her thoughts. ‘Eh? What do you think? I only have a pillow and a cot!

Of course I don’t have a weapon idiot!’ I hear her think.

“We outnumber her so just open the door (plus you’ll be the one stabbed Tobi).” I say finally. Tobi wrenches the door open.

“Can we go now?” Asks Medusa. She placed the pillowcase over her head, with the snakes on her head the pillowcase looked very weird. The pillowcase was emitting a lot of hissing and was moving around a lot.

“Uh yeah…” I say still staring.

“Well you guys finished this part.” said Chantelle.

“Huh there’s a next part?”

“Yep!” Just as Chantelle said that another tunnel appeared. “So you guys have to go down there!” Chantelles explains.

“Quite obvious.” Luna mutters under her breath. Tobi takes the lead again followed by Tom, Rassie, Luna, Medusa, and me. Tobi pushes the door in front of us open.

“What is this place?” Asks Rassie, no one answers. It’s a giant stadium, well without an audience. There’s four doors, we just opened one of them.

“What’re you guys gaping at?” Medusa asks, sounding grumpy.

“Oh we’re in this stadium. Underground.” Tom says shrugging.

“Hey what does that say?!” Tobi says squinting at a sign.

“Ugh, it’s so bright!” Luna says shielding her eyes. We’re all looking at this sign with neon lights.

“I thought this place was supposed to be ancient.” I say. “But there’s a quite up to date modern sign here.”

“What does it say?” Asks Luna. “Build - your - death” Luna reads slowly, squinting at the light.

“Build you death?” Tobi repeats.

“Hopefully none of you guys have to build your death. Saw five lose theirs in a second.”

Chantelle says. “It was sooo boring, either way welcome to the arena contestants!”

“Arena?” I ask, looking around again. “What arena? This is an arena?” I ask, shocked.

“Well I guess you can call it that.” Tobi says.

“Don’t you even try getting smart with me” I say. I turn my attention to the gate in front of us, it opens slowly and made sure we heard it. There was a person inside.

“You know you didn’t have to open it right?” A male voice says. Suddenly the man teleports to us. Everything happens so quickly, the man starts throwing fireballs at us.

“Fast is everything! You need to be quick to live!” He shouts.

“Hey dude fire’s my thing!’ Tobi yells over all this commotion. In response he gets hit by a fireball. Rassie dodges all of them with reflexes that I’ve never seen that a human can do.

While gaping at Rassie I got hit in the midriff. Medusa’s in the safe zone of these fiery attacks, Rassie must’ve spotted it too because she heads towards her. There’s still a hail storm of fire attacks from this dude so I decide that he needs to keep his cool and dump a bucket of water on him with magic. Only that it wasn’t a bucket. It was only water. A lot of water that is. A giant tidal wave of water is coming from behind that dude.

“Now water?” Mutters Luna creating a forcefield between us and the tidal wave. Then a bunch of events happen, I tried to make the dude taste his own medicine with fire balls, but the tidal wave crashes through him, and Tom and Tobi have started a fight and stopped.

“Huh?” I say looking around. I look at the person, or what’s left of him.

“D-did we just murder someone?” I ask, surprised.

“No, you’re the one that murdered him. Besides who cares?” Luna says wiping her hands.

“So are you done? Oh I see! Good job, you accomplished one of your goals!” said Chantelle sounding as if she just woken up from a dreamless sleep. “Shall we continue?” The door to our left starts to shake the slowly it opens. There stands a person, with something on their head. The thing steps into the light of the stadium, it’s a normal person, unless you count the fact that having a bear head is normal. The bear person looks at us, or at least I think it did.

“Y-you guys look like healin’ is somethin’ you need.” A rough voice says, the voice sounds slightly happy though.

“You need some healing!” The bear person repeats. I think Luna got very freaked out by this thing because she tried to aim a blast at him but missed by a football field away.

“Ohohohohohoho! Someone needs some healin’!” The bear says, turning his attention to Luna.

“Uh oh.” said Luna slowly. The bear person sprinted towards Luna at an incredible speed and stopped right in front of her.

“One healing comin’ right up!” The bear person said, extending his arms and placing them on Luna’s back. Then we hear a sizzling sound, Luna’s scratches fading away.

“I’m confused.” I say.

“Wait so this dude is good?” Tom says, also staring at the bear person. Tom looks away and starts walking towards the neon sign and starts muttering to himself. I turn my attention to Luna again, instead of looking relaxed, Luna is twitching.

“That’s not good.” says Tobi as he walks towards Luna and the bear dude.

“OHHHHH! Do you need some healing too?!” the bear person gasps excited.

“Huh? Wait what? Me n-” Tobi says suddenly stopping. The bear person sprints towards Tobi, after seeing what happened to Luna (who is paralyzed and twitching weirdly) Tobi couldn’t possibly let that dude hold on to him. Rassie steps away from Medusa and slpas the bear hard with her medic kit.

“Oh um thanks?” Tobi says quickly. While witnessing these events I started shaking like crazy. Why? Because there was a creepy bear in front of me with red glowy eyes asking if you need to be healed but instead paralyzes you. I grabbed a pepper spray I had made with my magic and sprayed the bear, only that the spray got Rassie instead.

“Oh I’m sorry I just freaked out” I say apologizing over and over again. “Really I’m sorry.”

Tom seemed to not notice these events happening because he was slapping the sign over and over again. After being saved from the bear by Rassie, Tobi takes out his fire sword from the scabbard that no one usually ever notices. He takes his sword and swings it at Luna, Luna dodges by flying towards the ceiling.

“Don’t swing that horrid thing at me!” Said Luna angrily, crossing her arms. “What’s wrong with you either way?” I tear my attention away from Tobi and Luna knowing she’ll be safe. I become like Tobi and end up using a fireball attack on the bear. Only to miss.

“Oho! You guys sure do need a lot of healing!” he says looking at me.

“You need healing mentally” I mutter under my breath. Rassie backed away towards Medusa, Tom was slapping the neon panel, it looked broken. Tobi was still trying to dice Luna up. Tobi’s weird attitude took my attention away again, this time he was talking to himself.

“Why’d you make me do that?!” Tobi mutters. “I thought you were gonna help me!”

Suddenly Tobi goes flying towards the wall as if he was punched in the stomach. This caused everyone to stop and look at him. The good thing about this was the bear dude’s attention was on Tobi.

“Someone else needs healing!” It says.

“Whoever pushed Tobi is on my friend list.” I say looking around, I kind of expected Luna to be the one who punched him. But it was this old man.

“What happened?” I ask confused.

“Maybe you need healing!” The bear says walking towards me. He grabs me with a surprising strong grip. I slap the bear, he let’s go quickly. I sprint to where Rassie and Medusa are. Seeing me successfully slap the bear Luna walks over to the tiny old man and slaps him.

The old man disappears, the bear person turns his attention to Tobi who’s dusting himself.

“Would’ve been happy if the old man finished that impertinent dolt off.” I said, sighing.

Tom finally came back from abusing the sign and took out his axe, he swung the axe towards the bear recklessly. Tom’s axe wedges itself into the wall where Tobi was just a moment ago.

“You need more healing than this person!” The bear person says. He grabs a hold of Tom with his strong grip.

“I think I should just turn him to stone..?” Medusa says, still grasping the wall. We hear a bunch of rustling and finally she unmasks herself. Everyone hid their eyes. The bear was visibly or in this case sounding confused.

“Do you all need some healin’?!” Asks the bear with a false tone. “You gonna ignore me?

Then I’m g-” The bear says but stops talking.

“It’s okay now, I turned him into a nice lawn ornament.” Medusa says. I look up and see everythings the same. Except the bear is a stone statue, I create a magic orb and it explodes the statue.

“Woah, you didn’t need to do that.” Luna says.

“I guess that is a bit harsh. But the next people who come here won’t have to deal with that freak.” I say shrugging. “And Chantelle could’ve revived him.”I add hastily.

“Well Tobi what was your intention?” Luna asks, turning around.

“It was by accident.” Tobi says unhesitantly.

“An accident…” Luna repeats in disbelief. “You swung your sword at me by accident..”

Luna repeats unconvinced.

“Time to open the last door!” Chantelle says, sounding excited. “Oh..Well I cannot open the door because of some technical difficulties.” Chantelle continues after a pause.

“Now now Chantelle, I think you should give them a reward!” A deep voice says.

“Ah if you say so!” Chantelle says, we hear a click of a button. The result wasn’t quick, but something sounded as if it was being sucked up and sucked out. Then in front of us we saw a crystal orb.

“Hey didn’t Tobi wa-” I say but Tobi interrupts, “That’s mine! Don’t touch it!”

“Well you can’t tell me what to do!” Luna says sprinting towards the purple innocent glowing orb. And of course Luna has to trip when she had a total advantage.

“I told you it’s mine!” Tobi says cradling the crystal orb. Tobi then repositions himself and holds the orb above his head and appears to summon a gargoyle.

“Tobi what did you do?” I ask, backing away. Tobi was petting the tiny gargoyle that replaced the orb.

“Let’s just get out of here.” Luna says, Luna is already on the stairs that I hadn’t noticed.

“Okay then.” I say sighing.

At the top of the stairs is a door, and beyond the door was a moat. There were fluffy clouds, a bright blue sky with hints of smoke, green bushes with lush berries,a tall weeping willow tree, and a moat keeping us as prisoners.

“Why. Is. there. A. Moat. Around. Here.” I say.

“I think it’s more of a river.” Luna says. There was no knowing what it was because the smoke was thickening and swirling. Now we weren’t able to see two feet in front of us.

We emerge in a smokey clearing on the right of us. The “clearing'' turns out to be a parking lot beside the Notre Dame Cathedral which was on fire.

“Whoops. Did my fire spread that quickly?” I say bracingly. I turn around to face Luna. “Is the Notre Dame Cathedral even close to the Catacombs?” I ask. But Luna’s staring behind me, it reminded me of something...It was just like my premonition...

“Oh FINALLY! I’ve been waiting so long, dad!” Luna says.

“Wait Luna how did you know about this?” I ask.

“I have contacts with some people, ” She says mysteriously.

“Why hello daughter!” A man says behind me.

“Who’re you?” Luna asks in a false tone.

“Oh if I still had a heart it would break.” He says. I turn around slowly.

“I wanna meet my mom not dad.” Luna says forgetting the act. Luna’s dad just smirks at her. At that moment the sun beams down through the smoke, Luna’s dad’s smile falters.

“Now of all times?” he grunts. Smoke starts to float away from his shoulders and his just noticed horns. ‘You should create some smoke, this counts as your rent.’ he says to me telepathically. ‘Nope’ I say back. ‘What a pity..Your powers won’t activate if you give me that attitude.’ ‘You have no proof that you can control my powers.’ I say, to try to prove my point I tried to make a forcefield. I made a forcefield all right, but it faltered and flickered like a candle light about to be extinguished. ‘I told you rent was up.’ the voice continues in a mocking tone. I try again, only to get the same result. ‘So stubborn. You must pay your rent., It continues. And of course I must try again, and this time it worked. A perfect shiny forcefield was in front of us.

‘Hmm, well that wasn’t what I calculated.

“Hey where’s the crystal orb!” Tobi yells unexpectedly.

“I’m unable to answer that.” Luna’s dad says. Just as Luna’s dad said that a purple crystal orb shined through the fog, revealing itself.

“Don’t touch that! It’s mine!” Tobi yells. A hand appears under the crystal orb, it waves and then takes the crystal ball.

“I’m afraid not.” Luna’s dad continues unconcerned.

“Where’d it go?!” Tobi yells at him.

“Somewhere where you can’t get it.” I start to stretch, “What are you doing?” Luna asks me, “I’m gonna pull his horns out of his head.” I say camly. “Is that fine with you?’

“Uh I guess so…?” Luna says sheepishly. I leap towards his head and get a firm grip on his horn.

“What do you think I am? Stupid?” Says Luna’s dad sounding offended.

“What do you mean stupid?” I ask half listening. Luna’s dad swings his horns and throws me off. I hit a car. “What’d you mean stupid?” I ask,dizzy.

“This is what I mean.” Luna’s dad says, still sounding insulted. I see him hold Tom by his jacket. “You honestly think I can’t see you?” Luna’s dad bellows outraged for some reason.

“Why’s Tom sneaking up towards you dad?” I whisper to Luna. “I mean I attacked him because he’s an idiot.” I say crossing my arms. He throws Tom away too. Rassie, officially our healer, runs to heal him.

“I’m gonna try again.” I say cracking my knuckles. I lunge at Luna’s dad who just finished tossing Tom, I grab onto his horn again and pull. With a sickening pop his horn comes off.

“Ouch!” he cries out. “Why’d you do that?!” he says, “Well not that it matters.” He says.

Luna looks at him angrily, she then tries to attack her dad with a spell but SOMEHOW messes it up and hits me.

“Oops sorry, I’ll heal you.” Luna says distractedly. Tobi pulls out his arrows and aims it at Luna’s dad. Tobi let’s go, it hits Luna’s dad perfectly in the eye.

“Ugh! You guys are like bugs that keep on stinging!” Luna’s dad yells, throwing Tobi at the same time. The gargoyle that Tobi summoned clapped.

“I reckon I would’ve been friends with that tiny gargoyle.” I mutter, I hurl myself at Luna’s dad again to pull out his other horn, but only to get rejected by being thrown behind him. Luna backs away.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Luna’s dad says, swiping at Luna. Luna dodges the livid attack.

“Hey Tobi can you pass me your sword?” Tom yells to Tobi.

“No. I’m rather attached to it.” Replies Tobi unhesitantly. Tom sighs and walks over to a bright red car and pulls the windshield wiper off.

“Guess it’s time to get rid of you annoying flies.” Luna’s dad says he creates a firewall blocking us from him.

“Too bad I have a lot of experience with fire.” I say from behind him, he had forgotten about me. I raise my hand and think hard of a water bucket to summon it. Well let’s just say a summoned water. Rather large water. I had summoned a giant water droplet, the water droplet was gigantic, and he had a face. Everyone’s inside of him.

“Hey! Fiighres MY thinghg!” Tobi gurgles in the water. Luna frantically swims out of the water droplet, Tom jumps out of the water easily and seamlessly wedges Tobi’s sword (he took it) in Luna’s dad. I decide to attack Luna’s dad to make sure, a white beam hits him and Tom. Whoops. Luna’s dad emerges from the smoke all brunt looking, except Tom’s fine though.

“Ugh! This isn't the last of me you’ve seen!” Luna’s dad says as he disappears. The water dude I conjured walks up and sits on his ashes, absorbing it, he stands up again (he has stick arms and legs) walks towards the Notre Dame Cathedral and puts out it’s fire. Tobi stands up and frantically asks, “Where’d the crystal ball go?!” he looks around. “NOOOO! It’s not here!” Tobi says walking back to us. He didn’t notice me slip something in my useless backpack. Tobi explodes the parking lot.

“Uh oh.” Says the water droplet, he walks around extinguishing the flames.

“Well bye.” I say walking away with Luna.

Back at the lobby of our hotel, La Lune, I opened my backpack and pulled out a shiny purple crystal orb.

“Huh? Where’d you get that?” Luna asks excitedly.

“I found it behind Tobi,” I say. “Put it in your hidden place!” I told Luna handing it to her.

“Okay!” Luna says. “Visible mode!” Luna says, a cube appeared, it seemed invisible but not invisible. Luna stuck her hand inside, it disappeared.

A few days later we checked with everyone else, Rassie went back to studying with dr.Ignats as her teacher. Tom took the water droplet (that was MINE, he came out of MY hand) and put out fires with him. Well Tobi… we didn’t really need to ask, he was on the news. He wasn’t known by name but we were pretty sure. The news stated “a person was attacked on a private plane with three passengers, one of the passengers had attacked the other. Their relationship was mentor and student, the student had taken out a sword and attacked the mentor resulting in injuries. The pilot and the attacker had left the plane when flying above the atlantic ocean, the co-pilot had been knocked out by the pilot and had awakened just in time to save the plane from crashing. Only witness was the other passenger who saw this attack unfold.”

“Sounds exactly like Tobi.” Luna muttered while showing me this article. Me and Luna went back to our company, Unusual Sightings Agency, and did our work. We also got a message from someone claiming to be Luna’s mom saying that we should keep the crystal orb away from the “Weird sword wielding kid”.

Her powers Jacqueline's power is named The Spooky, it’s technically premonition, telepathy, jinx, and something called dark side all mashed up together and named as one. Premonition is when she can see flashes of the future, she can’t do that willingly, only when she’s concentrating really hard for a long time (her premonitions mostly show her problems). Her telepathy can let her hear what other people think or say miles away when she concentrates on the person. She can also send messages to other people and groups of people, if she doesn't concentrate on you then you won’t get her messages. Jinx is when she can change what happens to something else, for example, if you fall down a ladder and die, she can change that. She can somehow maybe make you weightless and boom, you don’t die. But beware, she can only do that for recent events, she also can do that if she didn’t use too much magic power. Her dark side is like paying rent, for some reasons she has to do something that the voice in her head tells her to do to use her powers again. There’s a voice in her head that seems pretty evil, it can tell her to do things like burn that tree and I'll give your powers back. Dark side also makes her keep weird secrets the voice tells her and she always has suspicion but not as severe as Tobi. It’s not like she’s one of those weirdo’s that pay for some sort of orb* to be placed inside her. So know you know she has someone’s weird voice inside her head 24/7. Jaqueline’s power comes from Luna’s father, but after his defeat Luna’s mom now controls her power. *The meaning of orb in this paragraph is an orb with tons of magic inside. It can be used to give powers to someone or it can be used as a weapon.

Jaqueline was born in Canadaᐙ, she is the only kid in her family. Her looks are unknown, except for the fact that she’s a female and she has black hair. She’s an A+ student and has a part time “job”. Chapter 2 Korine

Background: Notes of Tobi Korine It has been a long day today. I got promoted in my organization, the Demogods and many of the members disappeared. Now there are only two of us that remain. Me and my mentor, Julie. Julie told me that four others left the Demogods to live their lives. I have been told by Julie, though to investigate a mystery that has been going on during Paris. I don’t think I am suited for such an important mission however. I am the youngest member out of all the dead and alive Demogod members. Not only that, I am also the youngest. But, I think that Julie put me on this mission because she trusts me a lot. I guess that makes me feel a little comfortable. I leave from Pennsylvania in 2 days. I wonder what kind of adventure the trip to Paris will hold. Anyways, I hope to save Paris from whatever danger it is about to face but I just hope I don’t have to do anything alone. Luckily the Demogods is rich, so they can supply me with whatever I need. Sometimes I wonder why I was chosen to be on the Demogods anyway. I just wanted to live a normal life. They found me at that orphanage in Pennsylvania and then made me apply to be on the Demogods. I wish they never found me in the first place. They think I am skilled, but I am still so young and am being faced with danger almost every single day. It’s just mission after mission. Oh well, they may take away most of my free time but I will still always write in the journal and chronicle all my dangerous adventures, so I can look back and say, “well, at least I did the right thing”. I just hope I won’t get involved in anything too big in Paris.

Story: Notes of Tobi Korine

I am writing from Paris. I just got here and there is already so much danger. I can’t believe I got dragged into all of this. So back to the beginning. I was on the plane heading to Paris when I caught a glimpse of something flying in the sky besides the plane. We were just about to land in Paris until the emergency alert went off. All the masks dropped down and I knew better than to sit in this plane when there was something dangerous outside that might crash this airplane. Although I sort of felt connected to this monster. Our eyes connected, but then I saw the evil in it and I chose to run. I grabbed all my luggage, got a parachute and jumped out of the airplane. Luckily, it wasn’t too high of a jump, since we were below the clouds and I could clearly see the airport. I landed safely on the ground. Then I saw these 2 girls just staring at me and then one of them started to fly and the other did the same thing I did to get out of the plane. The person that caught my attention the most was the girl who was flying. I had

never seen a flying person before so I was really shocked. Shortly after that the plane landed.

Unfortunately, the flying monster got agitated by all the people leaving and then started firing off black flames from its mouth onto the plane and in multiple other places around the open fields of the Paris airport. Just then, the firetrucks and police cars started to pull in. But now, I had also gotten a clearer look at the flying monster and realized it was a stone gargoyle. Next, all the firefighters started coming out and went on spraying the flames and fire on the plane and the fields. The head firefighter, who was leading all the others and commanding the other firefighters appeared to be a natural-born leader. But still, the water was not putting out the flames at all. Just then a part from the airplane fell on top of an innocent citizen and the flying girl tried to lift it off. Then the other girl came running towards her and helped her. They still could not lift the plane piece off and the firefighter began to moan and groan, so I thought about lending them a hand. But next, the girl with no wings created a bright light in her hand which appeared to be magic. She blasted the plane part and it crumbled. The firefighter was free!. But unfortunately for the firefighter, the girl with no wings also hurt him with the magic. Things were getting a little hectic now. The head firefighter was calling someone with his cell phone, the fire was starting to die down, the stone gargoyle was roaring and scaring civilians. Next, I saw the girl with wings and the girl with no wings cast some magical spell at the stone gargoyle. The gargoyle appeared to be hurt and the fire got put out on its own. The stone gargoyle flew off into the distance. All our troubles were over , at least for now. Next, I saw a car with this weird guy honking and going to the head firefighter. He gestured to the two girls and the girls and the head firefighter got into the car with the weird man and started to drive away. I then realized that I needed a ride too and I yelled at them to let me in the car. Luckily, they did, but it was a little crowded in there. We all did small introductions. They all told me who they were. The head firefighter was named Tom and the weird guy driving this small car which he called the ProSocDocTroc was his friend. He called himself ProSocDoc. The girl who could fly and do a little magic said her name was Luna. The girl who could do a lot of magic but could not fly said her name was Jaqueline. I told everyone that they could refer to me by my last name, Korine. After the exhausting drive, we arrived at ProSocDoc’s apartment. There ProSocDoc healed all of our injuries and we were all back at perfect health. Next, we all told everyone a little bit more about ourselves. I told them about my organization but not the reason I was here in Paris. After that, we ate a little. Me and Tom went to our bedroom and Luna and Jaqueline went to theirs. ProSocDoc went to his bedroom. Now here we are at the present. I am about to go to sleep now. I will write again tomorrow.

Notes of Tobi Korine

Well, I thought all the danger was over, but looks like it is completely far away from over. We were visiting a research lab of this archeologist. We all thought it would be a good way to find out more about

what happened yesterday at the airport. I was not onboard with this idea because honestly, I didn’t feel up to completing my mission after all the things that happened at the airport. I would probably land up getting killed, but ProSocDoc, Luna, Jaqueline, and Tom forced me into coming with them. Anyways, we drove all the way to the professor’s research lab. The professor was called Professor Ignats, and he samed weird, just like all the other professors and doctors here in Paris. He showed us around to all his fossils and all his stone statues and all these things I really wasn’t interested in. But, I will admit, that I got really hooked in this mystery after something terrible happened. Back to where we were. Professor Ignats was continuing to show us all his precious artifacts until we had finally made it to the end of the tour, which was at the top of a tall building. We all went down back to the ground level but as we were going down we heard a scream that was coming from outside. But then we realized that we had other problems.

Luna had disappeared. We went outside and saw a big fog at the top of the building. The scream was still there, but it was not from the ground. It was from the top of the building. And that scream sounded just like the voice of Luna. We were about to head back inside when I saw Luna falling from the clouds off the building. I thought I could shoot an arrow to pierce through her shirt and through the wall without hurting her so she would not continue to fall. I then missed and accidently hit Luna in her body. Just then I realized I was a big fool. Luna withdrew her wings and flew safely to the ground(besides that arrow I shot her with). She was glaring and yelling at me, until she finally decided to pull out the arrow. She was able to health herself back to full health with her magic. Suddenly, a stone gargoyle flew out of the mist from the top of the building and came straight towards and started to attack. Just then, I got a horrible thought. It was the same stone gargoyle from the airport and it looked stronger than ever. The alarms started sounding very loudly all throughout the buildings and train stations. We all looked at the dark train station filled with cries, yells, and screams from the civilians in the subway station and then we made a unanimous decision. This time we were going to run and venture out into the dark subway station.

We stepped in…

Just when we went down in the subway station, a thick fog started to pass through. We couldn’t see a thing! Just then we saw a pair of 2 red glowing eyes that looked as if it was staring at us. Then, it disappeared into the fog again. Just then Luna and Jaqueline used their magic powers to create an orb of light. We were only able to see each other and a little bit beyond us, but that was it. We jumped onto the railway and started our long walk to find our way out. It seemed like we were walking for hours until we came across an abandoned train. Jacqueline opened the door and we looked in. Just then we saw three figures in the fog behind us, 2 were tiny, and one seemed large. I took out a sword and said “Fire Activate” and my sword became covered in flames. I slashed one of the mini dragons and it seemed to crumble into pieces. We then climbed in the back cart of the train, but the only lights on were the little emergency lights underneath the seats. Luckily, we had our magic to give us light. We continued to progress throughout the train until we reached the last compartment which was behind the driver’s compartment.

We were forced to get out at the station we had reached due to the driver’s compartment being locked.

When we got out, we saw this weird magical force field that was blocking our way from exiting the subway station. It had three symbols. One was a flame, one was a lightning bolt, and other was a raindrop. Our friend Tom, managed to figure out that we need to use the powers that correspond to the symbol in order to unlock it. We did just that, and the force field disappeared. Just then, the second mini gargoyle came out and attacked Tom. I tried to save but failed. In the end, the mini gargoyle came to attack me but luckily I was saved by Jaqueline using her lightning powers. Then the final large gargoyle came out. It was the same gargoyle that had attacked us at the airport and outside the hospital. Luna, Jaqueline, Tom, and me teamed up to take down that stone gargoyle. We started to run out of the subway station where the ProSocDocTroc pulled up next to us. We got in and headed to ProSocDoc’s apartment once again. I was a little suspicious about how he actually found us, I did not care that much. I was healed by ProSocDoc, Tom headed to his room, and Jacquline and Luna headed to theirs. Something was waiting for them, and I have a bad feeling that things are just going to get more dangerous from here.

After waking up in the morning in ProSocDoc’s apartment, everyone got caught in a real mess. We were watching the French news and Tom had to translate for us and tell us what was going on.

Apparently, there were a lot of children and statues going missing around the catacombs of Paris. It was kind of weird. I thought that maybe there was some kind of connection between the attacks on us and the missing children. Just as I was about to think of something Luna just got up and started yelling at us.

Apparently, she had this weird vision and was telling us we were going to be attacked. After that, ProSocDoc started acting way more weird than he had ever been before. He kept on saying stuff like “It’s going to be okay, nothing’s wrong at all, we’re going to be fine”. I knew something was up. And my suspicion about ProSocDoc was correct. He took out a knife and lunged towards me. I luckily dodged and withdrew my flaming sword. Then, the windows were shattered by a mysterious force. An old man holding a crystal ball was standing outside looking deep into the ball. I tried attacking ProSocDoc with my fire sword, but he dodged it. Luckily, the fire of my sword hit him and he got injured. Unfortunately for me, he took out his dagger and stabbed me. It seemed that I was more badly injured than him! Out of the blue, Luna and Jaqueline told me and Tom that something was not right. Luna told us that she was going to enter ProSocDoc’s mind and see what is going on in there. After she did, Luna told us that ProSocDoc’s name was Tobias(By the way, I am now going to refer to ProSocDoc as Tobias). Luna told us that Tobias was being possessed by the old man with a beard and crystal ball outside. Luna also told us that Tobias was trying to fight off that weird man. Luna and Jaqueline entered Tobias’ and tried to fight off that unwanted spirit. Tom and I tried attacking the bearded man with the crystal ball, but he just floated in the air outside. We couldn’t reach him! But Luna and Jaqueline were just on time! Hey successfully removed

the bearded man’s control over Tobias. The bearded man with the crystal orb told us that he did not like how he ruined our plans and after that. He drifted away into the sky. A couple minutes later. 3 people barged into our house. Their faces seemed a little familiar to me, but I could not place where I had seen them before. One of the 3 people was a woman who said her name was Chantelle. The other 2 people were men and said that their names were Jameseo and Bruno. Memories started flooding into me. It couldn’t be.

They disappeared. Julie(my mentor) said that they were de-de-de-ea-ad-dead. Then, they said something that proved I had seen them somewhere. Julie showed me pictures of them and told me how they died.

Chantelle said that she, Jameseo, and Bruno were from my secret organization, the Demogods. I blurted everything that Julie had told me in the past and how she said that you were dead and how you were such loyal members only to then die. But they were alive. They were alive! After I was done talking they said that they returned back to the Demogods and that Julie sent them. They told me that they were supposed to help me with my mission. I was a little relieved at first but then I told them that me, Luna, Jaqueline, and Tom were slowly figuring things out on our own. When I had said this, Tobias seemed a little offended that I did not include that he was helping us as well. Anyways, Chantelle told us all to come to the library with her, Jameseo, and Bruno to do some research. That is what we did. We read up and found some startling news about a set of 3 crystal balls, a secret hidden organization underground, and rogue hunters. We did not get to read much, because it turns out, Chantelle, Jameseo, and Bruno were fakes.

They all started to attack us! We all jumped out of the window and Bruno and Jameseo tried to chase us but fell straight on the faces due to a little magic from Luna and Jaqueline. We then started to run. We heard a voice in our heads that sounded like Chantelle. She said “Run, run while you can, little mice”. I assumed that we were the mice but that was beside the point. Well now here we are. We are all running our lives while I am writing all of this. It is really hard to read and write!. There is a really crowded area up ahead with large buildings and cars so I hope that we can hide and get away from Chantelle and her goons. But now, that is going to be a little hard because they just started to chase us in a black car.

Anyways, I will write later because I have to really put all my energy and focus into running away!

Alright, I promised I would write and now I am. I am writing from the nearest safe hospital is Paris. I will explain how we all got to the hospital in the first place. Unfortunately, things went very bad for me. Well after I had put down this notebook, I started to run even faster until I noticed that we were all starting to separate from each other. Luna started to fly above all the other buildings and across to another road. Tom went into a crowded store and the only reason I could think of why someone would do that is because they would want to blend in with the people. I thought that was a decent idea. But I decided not to go to the store. Instead I did something bad. I went to one of the cars and kicked the door

down and got inside. Immediately, the alarm start went off and the car started beeping and flashing and I was getting so much unwanted attention. I began to look around the car for a spare or extra key around the car. Luckily, I found one under the car mat in front of the driver’s seat. I put the key into the keyhole. It started up. Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t find a way to turn off the car alarm and lights. I started to drive down the road. But suddenly I stopped. I saw Jaqueline there in the middle of the road looking like she had nowhere to go. I thought about letting her in the car, but then a bright light came from her hands and it looked like she had things under control. I don’t know what was happening to the others after that but I continued to drive down the road. It was a few minutes but I finally reached an intersection. I stopped at the red traffic light. I looked behind me and threw the back window of the car.

I saw Chantelle, Jameseo, and Bruno sleeping. They had fallen out of the car. Then she stopped moving, it seemed like she was listening to someone talk. I thought that maybe it was that voice inside her head that gave her her magic. All of sudden, she turned around to look at me and my car but then turned back. I was starting to get a bad feeling especially when she turned back to look at me. Then I got scared.

Jaqueline pointed her finger at me in the car and I looked in front. The light changed green. I quickly pressed my entire foot on the accelerator and drove ahead about to make the turn to another road. But in a quick second, my life flashed before my eyes. All I could smell was smoke. All I could see was red flames.

My car had exploded and there was fire all around me. Iwas badly injured and could barely move. If I had stayed in the fire for a little bit longer, I could have maybe died. But I was saved by Tom and Luna, who had rushed back to this massive eruption to save me. They all got hurt while trying to rescue me but I was still in way worse shape than they were. Luna was only able to heal me a little bit, which was barely enough to keep me walking and stabilized. We started to walk away from the fire and towards the nearest hospital. None of us were in the position to run except Jaqueline who then came running towards us. She started apologizing to us and especially to me. She explained to us that she had to in order for her magic powers to stay active otherwise Chantelle and her goons would have woken up from her spell. It finally all made sense to me. Jaqueline was the one that exploded me and my car while setting me on fire. I wanted to yell and scream at Jaqueline for doing that but I was in no position to do so. It was not the right time either. By now the fire was still spreading and the firefighters had just got there. We continued to walk and eventually we made it to the hospital. The others were completely healed and my injuries were very severe. The doctor told me so. She was only able to heal up part of my wounds because I had taken a lot of damage. But still she healed me up a lot and I was really close to being back at full health. The doctor told me her name was Rassie and I was really impressed on how she was able to heal up most of my injuries so well. It was like she was using magic. Anyways, she told me that she was going to leave the room now because I needed rest. Then Luna, Tom, and Jaqueline left my room as well. It was until then I decided to look outside the window in my hospital room and I was in shock. Half the entire city of Paris had gone up in smoke. There was fire everywhere. All the buildings and all the sectors and areas were covered in fire except the a couple of areas and the area of the Eiffel Tower, catacombs, and this hospital. It was

unbelievable. It was then when I decided to get my mind off all this negative stuff and decided that this would be the perfect time to write. Well, now here we are. Back to the present. …… ……. …………… Oh no.

All the electricity has turned out. What happened. I heard a voice in my head and I think everyone heard it as well. Well, I think something bad is about to happen. I will write soon!

Okay, so as usual, we all went through an adventure but this time things turned out a little different. So we left off, we all heard a weird voice not from Chantelle but another person. This person also sounded a little familiar but I could not place my hand on who it was. But by then, I decided to not worry about it, and just focus on evaluating myself and all the others in the hospital. But first, I changed out of the hospital gown and back regular brown and black clothes, with my white cloak on top. I headed out of the hospital room and I was yelling to everyone, telling everyone to leave. I headed out of the hospital where I found a lot of people from the hospital as well as civilians. But the main people I had recognized were Rassie, Luna, Jaqueline, Tom, and Tobias. But floating in the air, I also caught sight of something else. The bearded man with the crystal orb. Suddenly, I had a flashback. It was time when Julie was showing me a list of rogue hunters and their names. I recalled seeing this bearded man on that list and it said that his name Balfagore. I also recalled that it had said Balfagore had extreme criminal history and was most wanted in our organization. But then, I started to wonder why the Demogods would want Balfagore so badly. Does he have any history with the Demogods. My train of thought had gotten interrupted when Balfagore started shooting balls of magic at us. Unfortunately, I got hit. I took quite a bit of damage and I was wondering, “why am I the one always taking hits for others? “Why am I always forced to do things I don’t want to?” “Why am I always being hurt and going through pain?” Why am I always being controlled? And treated like a puppet?” Why am I always getting injured physically and mentally?!” At that point, I had enough. I was about to get out my sword and try to kill Balfagore, when suddenly, Rassie stopped. She healed me up and I was all ready to go at full health. I took at my sword, jumped and slashed Balfagore. He started blabbering away about how rude that was and then blaster Jaqueline and Tom with an orb of magic. Then Luna and Jaqueline finally decided to do something. They both combined their magic with each and blasted Balfagore with magic. After that he still managed to get up from the floor, even after falling from the sky. I took out one of my flaming arrows and shot him. His entire body caught on fire and disintegrated. All that was left was a purple crystal orb and a burned pile of clothes. We were all really happy that we defeated one of the villains standing in our way. But shortly after, we started debate about what to do with crystal orb. We were arguing for quite some time until Rassie just picked up. We all continued to argue, but then I had enough. I smacked the crystal orb from Rassie’s hands, took my sword and smashed the orb with my sword. Out came a weird purple mist and

went into my nose and mouth. All of a sudden, a weird feeling was sent throughout my entire body. All my friends started to ask me if I was okay or not, but I told them that I was fine. And I really was fine.

They took my word for it and Tobias drove all of us back to his apartment. Now here we are. We made it back safely to the apartment and all the windows were covered with garbage bags because they were shattered. Anyways, I will write later.

Well, this is a short journal entry, but all that I really have to write is that I have had a change of heart. All my questions have been answered. Only 6 members of the Demogods remain. Chantelle, Jameseo, Bruno, the spirit of Balfagore inside my head, Julie who is my mentor, and me. I have new info.

Apparently the crystal ball controls all the stone gargoyle. There are 3 crystal balls in total. I am going on a hunt for the other 2 for ultimate power. Balfagore wants me to give it to him and revive him to his physical state but I am not doing that. Little does everyone know, I already have the first orb. The first crystal orb is the spirit and mist of Balfagore which is inside of my head. So, if I can convince Balfagore to lend me his power I can control some of the weak stone gargoyles which is all I really need right now.

But during my hunt I have to visit the catacombs, and there I will injure all my teammates so that they are unable to move. Afterwards, I am going to gain Chantelle’s trust and then kill her, Bruno, and Jameseo when they least expect it. After that I would have complete control over Paris and that will give a lot of power to get rid of the one person who has lied to me my entire life. Julie. But for now, I am stuck with my teammates and Tobias. Until next time.

Chapter 3 Luna

Monster Hunt

Jaqueline and I landed in Paris at night, I looked out the window and noticed a big black creature on the wing, I told Jaqueline what I saw. The big black creature went into the jet and the plane set on fire.

This weird looking dude wearing a white cloak jumps out the plane and Jaqueline and I follow. The monster thing grabs the cloaked guy and they’re now in the air. I gave them a spell that would turn everything they do into slo-mo. After a bit I blasted this lightning spell onto the cloaked guy and the monster. The monster dropped the cloak man and he fell in slo-mo. The monster also falls slowly. The fire department is already here and is putting out the fire. I break the slo-mo spell and I see the monster running towards Jaqueline. So I go infront of her and created a big wall to block the monster from hitting her. The monster breaks it tho and i take a bit of damage, but that's ok. After a while this dude named pro-soc-doc came over and he says that he’ll bring us over to his place. We found out that pro-soc-doc was a friend of Tom the firefighter, pro-soc-doc performs some sort of surgery on the cloak dude who turns out to be someone named korine. Once we have settled in I show Jaqueline the stone horn I got from the gargoiel monster. The next morning pro-soc-doc brings Jaqueline, me ,Tom, and Korine to a big blue building. We go in and find the dr. and we gave him the stone horn of the monster, the dr. takes a look at the stone horn.

The dr. legit thought that we STOLE IT. I was like serio- *AHEM* I said nothing. Ok so the dr. accused us of stealing the stone horn from the monster, but right then we heard a very loud noise coming from the hallway, I started to bring people down to the ground from out the window. Then that Korine dude SHOT AN ARROW! Like what the heck dude! I was soooooooooo MAD, like i would literally kill him!

But ok moving on, so after a bit I flew up to the top of the building to investigate what was happening, all I saw was a bunch of grey dust and a man spinning a glowing purple ball. I felt very unsafe flying up there with Mr. Mysteriouse, so I went back down. After some more CrAzInEsS we went down to the subway.

There was this mysterious thick black foggy thing. We went onto the train and there were two small gargoyals and one big one. We were fighting and we all sorta got hurt, but that was ok. The Korine set the plane on FiRe, and so I had to put it out. *Sigh* Anyways :3 We went back to Pro soc doc’s apartement and we sat down and watched the news.

Then suddenly pro soc doc talked in this weird way, kind of sounds like evil. We found out that he was probably possessed, and we had to help him. The person who possessed him was the guy with the purple round ball looking thing. We helped pro soc doc then this woman with blonde hair and two men in the back jumped throught the window. The woman’s name is Chantelle, I did not exactly catch the two men's names but I think one of them is named Jamesio. It turns out that the three of them were part of Korine’s organization Jaqueline, me, pro soc doc and maybe tom we didn’t really trust them. We went to the Library to do some research. I wasn’t exaclty trying but somehow I managed to get quite a lot of information, Jaqueline and me wanted to just escape the library and go somewhere else, and so that's what we did. I carried everyone out of the building but when I got to korine he was somehow way heavier than all the others. Once ii sort of managed to get him out of the window one of the guards from his agency who came with us came and grabbed his legs. I managed to get Korine down and the bodyguard fell down onto the pavement.

Once everyone was down we saw cChantelles’s car and she was saying something like run and hide, and so that's what all of us did. I chose to fly as far away from her as possible, Jaqueline made this shield thing that kind of wrapped around Chantelle’s car to prevent them from escaping. During this time though Jaqueline

heard this voice in her head that told her to put the shield down or Korine and the car he was in would fling across the street. Jaqueline had to think for a very very long time of what she was going to do, at last she chose to keep the shield up and so Korine flung across the streets and his car set on fire. We tried to put out the fire but it was too big and we couldn’t do much. So we went to the hospital to get Korine healed but when we came out we had to fight again. So we took the information we got from the books in the library and we were prepared to fight the gargoyals in the catacombs. The fight was hard and we split into two groups to get through the maze, there were a lot of doors and we were just opening all of them. A little bit further into the fight the rest of the group decided to enter another room while I was still stading there in the open. There was someone creeping out from the darkness infront of me. It was someone old who was also holding a torch in his or her hands. Korine and Jaqueline were coming to help me but Korine came upon a bunch of spikes in the ground, so well I mean he was probably gonna die if he went through it ;-;.

Now moving on :3 we were fighting this thing called the healing bear but he doesn’t heal he takes away your health. But in the end things were kinda back to normal after everything Jaqueline and me headed back to oakville and everything was fine. >:3

Chapter 4 Tom

We-u-We-u As the fire alarms went off I sprinted into the firetruck rushing to the airport where a plane got crashed. As I got off of the truck As I went into the stadium I saw a huge wheel where there were tons of choices like 5 cups and 5 hexagons. I spun and got 5 hexagons. As I questioned what 5 hexagons meant I felt pain on my back and fell on the ground. Of course, I had to be this unlucky. Other people got swords and no punishments but I got semi-stabbed in the Back Literally. But at least I wasn’t hanging from the ceiling like that other guy. As everyone was done spinning Chantal told us to go to the next room. We went into the next room to know nothing that was yet to come.

When we went in there were tons of mystery doors Chantel said there were random creatures in there but who believes her after she chased us, trapped us, and had us spin a wheel just to get hurt!?! We opened two doors to find two little goblins that did quite little to nothing to us. But then, of course, there had to be one thing bad here. After all, this is where Chantal put us. We opened the door to see three horrifying green heads attached to a really long snake liked body. Of course! This was a Hydra! As I pulled out my battle axe to try to chop one of its heads off but this was not an ordinary hydra it was a hydra that could regrow its heads! So after I chopped off its head but another one appeared. Thankfully Korine has some skill and lit in with fire which surprisingly finished it off. Now there were 2 doors left. We went to open one door when a voice said let me out! So like a normal person, me and Korine wanted to see who was making that noise so Korine peeked through the window and suddenly he got paralyzed. “Woah! I think that’s medusa” I said to Korine which probably already knew that. We wanted to leave the medusa in the cage but our friend Rassie opened it up which seemed indubitably dumb but then it ran into the other cage and turned the other monster into stone. And then we were on the next stage. As we went into the next stage I saw a choose your own death sign. As I questioned the sign we spun the death generator and got a “healing” bear. As the others were fighting I saw a really big button-like object that caught my attention. It had to be something connected to the “healing” bear so I destroyed it, having no hopes at all cause it probably wasn’t the best choice if it didn’t work. But surprisingly it did!

As we got out of the catacombs we got soaked since there was a river right next to the exit.

After we dreadfully crossed the river we saw a demon coming from the sky ironically. It was somehow Celina’s dad!?! Then an angel came but a cloud blocked it from coming. Now we had to fight a Demon!?!? While I was waiting for a sneak attack the others held him off.

“Finally!” I said I snuck up and attacked the demon. I did hit him but he knocked my weapon away from me. “Dang it, my weapon,” I said. As I asked Korine for a weapon he said no!?!?!

Now I had to find a weapon for myself. While I was getting healed, I grabbed the nearest weapon which was a windshield. After I took my time the demon was near me. I distracted it by dancing around with my lousy windshield. Thankfully Jacqueline flooded the place using an alive water droplet. After the demon got distracted I grabbed my axe and chipped the demon’s armour a bit. Then Jacqueline made a bright magical light to destroy the demon once and for all. I got back to my fire department with this little water droplet that was somehow alive. You could do “wonders,” I told the water droplet. Of course, my job was not done yet as I am a fireman. So I went to light out the fires with this water droplet. After a while, my job was over and so I went to pro soc doc’s apartment and slept. Today was truly a weird day.

Chapter 5 Rassie

She ran as fast as her tiny legs could carry her and when she barged into the house. Her whole world dropped. Tears started falling down her cheeks at a rapid speed as she saw them. Her lovely and amazing parents, her guardians, her role models and the people that she looked up to. The two people she loved and looked up to the most in the entire world, were lying on the cold, hard floor, motionless. Dead.

9 years before...

The little girl, nine years of age, was watching her parents do a complicated surgical operation. Her eyes were bright with a hint of fascination and curiosity as she stood by the window of the room her parents occupied in awe as she observed their every movement with her sharp eagle eyes, not missing even a single part of their action. She watched as her father perfected every move like it was child’s play. She had always admired her parents and their jobs. She dreamed of becoming a surgeon like her father or at least a nurse like her mother. She also wished to become a teacher because she liked helping people when they needed it. She had her future all planned out, even as a little girl.

She was always considered very introverted and quiet. She was always an observer and paid attention to all her surroundings.

She was definitely considered smart and was always top of her

class and always had the best grades anyone could possibly have.

She loved to read and got most of her knowledge from books.

At the age of eleven, she was already reading advanced medical books, which she considered as an entertainment, in her free time. Her father would always explain to her what everything meant.

At the age of sixteen, she was the brightest student of her age.

She was an extremely intelligent student as she was blessed with the wit and ambition of her father. She was also blessed with her mother’s ability to work hard and find a solution for anything and everything. Although she was blessed with these useful traits, she was also really stubborn, pessimistic and she would often overthink things.

At the age of seventeen, she started working as a volunteer at a hospital. She had the ability to heal people with just her hands but was not very good at controlling her powers. That is why she kept her powers hidden and never tried to use them on anything. Technically, she wasn’t supposed to use her magic because she worked at a hospital that only consisted of people that didn't know about the magical world so she was not allowed to use her magical abilities for even the doctors didn’t know about the magical world. But she wasn’t planning on using her

abilities until she could control them. Thankfully, her mother was one of those people that didn’t know about the magical world until she met her father who told her all she needed to know about it. Her mother had taught her how to care for herself like the non-magical folks because she couldn’t use any magic and she was taught how the non-magical people worked in hospitals.

This came in very useful in the hospital.

She then bought a house that had a humongous library full of information and cast spells to make a magical barrier surrounding the area because you never know what may happen. Anything could happen.

One night, when she returned from a long and hard day at work, she heard her mother shriek and immediately ran into the house.

What she found and saw made her drop to her knees as she cried and screamed painfully. Her parents were dead and there was nothing that she could do about it. The parents who cared for her even before she was born. The people that had given her the world and more. The two people that gave her the courage to move on even when times were hard. The people that encouraged her to do the right things over the easy things and make the right choices over the simple ones.

She started to work full-time at the hospital to get her mind off the tragic accident. She studied day and night, slowly achieving her goal in life. She soon became one of best nurses at the hospital she worked at since she worked the hardest out of all the employees. She could even be considered somewhat like a professional.

One evening, when she was on her way back home after another exceptionally busy day of work, she was called to tend to a patient that was burned by fire. She groaned but reluctantly made her way towards the direction her coworker had pointed to.

She was already exhausted from the lack of sleep these past few months. Whenever she slept, she would have terrible nightmares. She would wake up every night with cold sweat dripping from her head. Breathing heavily, she would remember the nightmare. The nightmares would always involve her parents. Her mind would replay the scene of her seeing her mom’s lifeless body on the ground and her father’s cold body a few inches away from her.

She knocked on the door and as she heard a quiet and muffled ‘come in’ from inside, so she pushed open the door. She immediately set to work and went to heal the patient’s burn marks.

As she did so, she scanned the room and immediately caught a glimpse of the strange clothing this stranger was wearing. It was sort of like a cloak. Non-magical folk would have called this man bizarre, but she recognized it as the clothing that was commonly worn by magical folk. She would constantly see her father sporting this kind of robe when they were lounging in the living room.

The next few events went by as a blur. She found herself running on top of the roof and running down the stairs. She was swiftly healing people all around her. Fumbling with medical kits and helping patients around. After fussing around, there was suddenly a humongous figure in front of her. Time went by quickly as there was a bright light in between the giant object and herself. After an hour or so, she was in a room, slowly drifting off to sleep.

‘I was running into the house. I search the house and find my dear mother, lying on the ground. I check her pulse but there is none! I crawl over to my father’s body and feel for any movement, but he is dead still. Not breathing at all…’

I stood up abruptly from the table that I was seated at. Cold sweat was running down my cheeks and there were hot tears streaming down my face. We had arrived at an entrance. We were

already underground but I think we were going deeper underground. Not very sure though.

I glanced around and saw some other people heading towards the entrance. I decided that I would follow them because I had no idea what was going on, where we were or even why I was there. I trailed behind the group, not knowing where to go. I followed the group of girls through a crack in the maze’s walls. We made small talk and I soon found out the girl’s names. We ventured through the bushes and soon arrived at a wall which I presume is the wall that we would have to break through to be able to get to the place that we wanted to be. Luna stepped forwards and prepared to blast the wall. I stepped back and used a part of the wall to shield myself for I didn’t want to get hurt and take damage already. Jaqueline backs away also as not to get hurt. When I heard the wall being blasted away, I stepped out. We made a pretty dramatic entrance. There were dirt clouds around us. We walked down a hallway. It was dark and scary, giving me a bad vibe. I felt uneasy as our footsteps echoed through the empty halls. I stayed put as some of the members of the little group split up and went to search the place. After a little time, I started feeling frightened so I started slowly making my way down the hall where some of the group was. I believe this is the

path the boys had taken. I still felt exhausted but kept on walking.

I met part of the group in front of a door. I just finally realized that there were odd noises coming from the inside. It sounded like an old woman screaming and crying but I wasn’t quite sure. The door was kicked open which led me to jump up a little because I had zoned out. The two boys entered and I cautiously followed. There was a creepy old lady with long sharp nails that looked like daggers. She had a wrinkly face that made me scrunch my nose. ‘ I don’t want to turn that wrinkly and ugly’ I thought. ‘ I m ​ ustn’t t​ urn that wrinkly and ugly’ . While I was thinking this, I hadn’t realized that the lady had bolted up and lunged onto one of the two boys that were in the room.

She was clawing the boy’s face and now there were long scratches scattered around his body. He tried to free himself but his attempts had failed. The other boy went to help him so I followed his lead. He tried to pry the hideous elderly lady off the poor fellow but that had made the witch plunge onto him. She scratched his face and now he had a few unattractive scratches running along his cheeks. I shielded my eyes so as to not see what was happening next. The next thing I know, the obnoxious woman was on the ground. I believe that she is deceased but I’m

not entirely sure. She wasn’t moving so I presume that I am correct. I go to heal everyone but only end up healing one person. The other lad exits the room and makes his way deeper down the hall. I follow the fellow I just healed and we make our way to where we had come from.

I then hear screaming which I recognize as the voice of the lad that had gone down deeper into the hall. I followed his pained shouts and ended up in a dead end. There is a thorny bush that is in between me and the poor lad. He sounds rather pained so I decide to do the first thing that comes to mind. I throw my first aid kit over the bush and hear it clatter on the floor loudly.

If I tried to climb the bush, I would have taken too long because I’m not a decent climber. I had once gone mountain climbing with my parents, when they were alive, and I kept on accidentally slipping and falling, dangling from the rope. Good thing there was a rope or I would’ve died a thousand times. Or maybe even more than that...

I started heading back, hoping that this fellow knew how to use a first aid kit. I do think that he would know because it was pretty simple, how to use it. I heard him fumbling on the other side of the bush and I think that he got the hang of it. I

walked back tiredly, dragging my feet along the stone floor. My eyes feel droopy and everything starts becoming blurry and fuzzy.

The next few hours go by as a blur. I remember walking down a hall that was filled with people that were wearing these black cloaks. They were chanting something. Then I remember seeing a door closing so I sprinted inside just in time to not get smashed by it. We entered another room and people were asked to spin a spinner. My memory of this time is not very clear but I remember spinning the wheel. Something happened to me but I’m not entirely sure what exactly happened to me. We had passed this obstacle so I trudged into the next room. It was a hallway that had many doors. Other members of the group started opening the doors and then something scary would come out. I zoned out quite a bit as I trudged deeper down the hall and arrived in front of a huge door. I tried to open it but a high pitched voice said something along the line of ‘ open all the doors to unlock this door’ so I dragged my feet back up the hall. I saw one of the boys hurt so I think I went to try and heal him. I’m not quite sure because I was half asleep. Basically sleep walking with half of my conscience still there. We escaped that room and started walking further into the hall, where I had previously been.

Someone kept on opening doors but I was too busy trying not to fall over to realize who was doing this. We passed by this door that had a little girl’s voice coming from inside. Someone stepped in front of the window to take a quick peek but froze. I believe that there is a Medusa on the other side but I’m not really in my proper mind so I can’t be sure if I was imagining things or if it was reality. As everyone started walking past the door, I decided to let the poor girl out because she wouldn’t do any harm if she had something covering the snakes on her head. I turned the lever and pushed the door open. I don’t really know why I did that but I guess I was still not in my proper mind to know. She told me to turn away so I did as I was told.

Everything became even more of a blur and I soon found myself dragging my feet through the door that I had previously tried to open. It had led us to a room that said.

‘Build your death’ Flashing on a sign which seemed rather suspicious but I was too tired to think more of it. Wasn’t everything here suspicious?

Yeah, everything here is suspicious.

Members of our group started pushing a button. After many spins, three to be exact, a man came out of a door across from

where we were standing. The man started shooting fire at us. I was pretty terrified so I stepped back. I saw from the corner of my eye that Medusa had stepped back also. There was suddenly a wave of water coming towards me. I think that it was one of the girls who sent it but I can’t be sure because as you all know, I still can’t think straight.

Before I knew it, there was the same blinding light that appeared in between me and the giant wave that had previously come in between me and the beast.

I saw the two boys running to the side so I followed them. Even as my exhausted self, I could still tell that one of the boys was badly hurt and didn’t have much energy. I think his name is Tom but we haven’t properly introduced ourselves yet. I went over to him and attempted to heal him. I didn’t really know if I did it right but being the professional I am, I think I did well enough to get him to be able to stand up.

Next thing I know, a human with a bear head came running towards me. It was screaming that it could heal people. I doubt that. I start backing away quickly because it looks extremely unpleasant to be touched by him. After escaping, I see an old man that looked like a wizard of some kind. He is choking and pulling in the boy ,that I presume is Korine, so I go and try to

pry him off of the poor lad. He needs a break. Maybe go on a vacation or something. I manage to pull him off. I don’t remember that much after that but in the end, the wizard and bear-human thing both pass away. I feel bad for them but I guess they deserved it. And in case you are wondering what happened to the man that shoots fire out of his hand? Well, he drowned in the big wave of water. I guess he can’t swim very well.

We keep on walking on and on. I’m not entirely sure where we’re going but I trust the people around me enough to know that they aren’t leading me to my death but who knows? They might just be leading me towards my death bed but I didn’t have the energy to ask them anything at the moment. Every step was draining the energy out of me. It’s so exhausting to walk so much!

We walk towards some kind of exit and I see all of them start crawling on their bellies so I do the same. We crawl through the mud and smoke. We make it to a huge building that is on fire.

After some observing, and occasionally some gagging, I realize that this building is actually the building called ‘ Notre Dame’. I had come here once for a family trip and it was incredibly beautiful inside.

There were firefighters all around the building, trying their best to stop the fire but it doesn’t look like it’s helping that much.

That’s too bad. The building looks terrible!

I didn’t realize a man with horns protruding from his head until I heard someone, I think Luna, muttered a low.

“Dad?” The voice sounded shocked and hesitant. I guess he wasn’t supposed to be here or something.

I heard the man say something like.

“Daughter, it’s been too long” Then the voice of Luna replies.

“Who are you? “ The man immediately responded with a “If I had a heart, you would have broken it” Does this man not have a heart? That’s just sad. How can you live without a heart? Strange. Very peculiar.

The smoke begins to part and I finally see the man clearly. His smile is wide but then it falters a little. I glance beside me and see that everyone has a look of confusion on their faces. There is suddenly a blinding light and I can’t see anything…

The bright light had helped me fully wake up and gain more energy. The man starts shuffling forwards, clapping as he does so. He looks around and starts saying “Impressive” fairly loudly. He suddenly starts transforming into a demon-like creature and grows larger and larger by the minute.

When he finally stops increasing in size, Jaqueline sees it as a good opportunity to attack the beast.

She runs forwards and makes an attempt to pull its horn out.

The brute just so happens to turn to the side and in a few quick seconds, Jaqueline is thrown into the big, white cloud.

Luna bolts up into the cloud after Jaqueline to, I assume, heal her from the damage of the fall. Tom starts to dart towards the monster with his fire axe. He begins to try and chop the demon with the weapon. I think he succeeds at giving a little damage to the monster but he also gets launched off with a lot of force so I get my medical kit out and start to do my magic.

In a few minutes, he has full health and he is ready to go.

I glance beside me and see Korine fumbling with his medical kit, which I think is the one I had given him while at the catacomb, and struggling to do something with it.

I look elsewhere and find Jaqueline sprinting, yet again, towards the big brute and jumping onto its head to try and pull out his horn.

I look back at a Korine to discover that he had lost the medical kit in all the chaos. It’s good I have a spare medical kit or we would be left with none if no one else had one on hand.

I unexpectedly heard a loud shriek of what I thought was pain. I look towards where Jaqueline and the monster are supposed to be and see a big horn in Jaqueline’s hand so I guess she had accomplished taking the horn out of the demon’s head.

Still looking in that direction, I see Luna focusing on something and then shooting something towards the demon and Jaqueline. It accidentally hits Jaqueline and sends her across the pavement and onto the ground.

I look back and see Tom hopping around on cars and when he was finally close enough, he sprung into the air, trying to get a hold of the monster.

Unfortunately, the monster somehow senses his attack and grabs him by the neck, still midair. There is a loud clattering sound as Tom’s fire axe falls to the floor.

I look back again and see Korine still sprawled on the ground. I head over to him and take out my medical kit. It takes a few

minutes to restore his health but in no time, he was up moving.

I watch as he takes his bow and arrow out, though this one is different from the other ones that I’ve seen before. It has a flame engulfing each arrowhead so I guess it’s some kind of fire arrow.

I look down and see all my material from the kit scattered on the floor so I start gathering everything from around me. I pick up bandages, medical tape, gloves, eye patches, masks, gauze pads, a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a cloth.

When I got up, I saw that Jaqueline was still knocked back while Luna was tending to Tom’s wounds.

I put the aid kit into my pocket and looked up. Tom was back up and was now shouting to Korine. “ Korine, pass me your sword!”

Korine looked like he was debating whether or not to lend him the sword. After what seemed like hours, he replied. “ No! I’m too attached to it” Well that was unexpected. We’re in the middle of a fight between us and a demon and he doesn’t even let one of his friends borrow his sword for a little while?

After searching for something to attack the monster with, Tom ends up tearing a windshield wiper from a car off and starts waving it around crazily, calling out. “ Hey! Hey, over here” As he is trying to distract the big brute, I look for his weaknesses because he still seems pretty strong even after being attacked so many times. I observe his every movement and work out that taking his horn out did not do very much damage to the beast. It was only hurt but not too badly damaged. From that information, I realized that physical attacks didn’t do much harm to him which means that magic would do more harm to it.

As I was working things out in my head, Korine had shot an arrow in the direction of the monster but somehow, it managed to fly right back to him. His head is now on fire. That must hurt. I can’t imagine having a fire on my head, burning my hair and scalp. That would hurt terribly.

I’m still staring at Korine’s lit up head when a gigantic droplet of water runs towards the beast and the rest of the group. It hits them with a lot of force. The monster doesn’t look very good. He looks really damaged and hurt. That must have been sent with magic or he wouldn’t really be damaged as much as he is.

The droplet shrinks a little and I see that Luna is inside the droplet. She looks like she’s struggling to escape the big droplet.

The drop of water suddenly screams. “ Woohoo!”

I think he really likes having fun or something. I’m still observing the big droplet when I hear someone, I think Korine, scream. “ Fire’s my thing! “ Someone must have set another fire or something of the sort. I look up and see Tom make his way towards where his axe had fallen. He manages to get the axe and whack it into the demon’s body. The beast looks really hurt now.

I hear quiet groaning and focus my attention back towards Korine. He’s whimpering in pain as the fire is still flaring on his head. I search my mind for something that can put out the tiny flames. I run forward and start smashing my first aid kit on his smoking head. I manage to extinguish the miniscule fire and he looks a lot better than before.

I suddenly sprint backwards and fall down to the ground because a flame came flying my way. I believe it was an arrow shot by Korine because there wasn’t anything that could set a fire except for magic but everyone that could produce something magical was busy dealing with the ugly brute.

The arrow came from the sky at a rapid speed but we both managed to dodge it in time. I feel dizzy from the fall so I hold my head. I manage to minimize the throbbing pain and forcing myself onto my feet.

The world is spinning around a little so I try to focus my vision.

When I can finally see clearly, Jaqueline had produced some kind of bright white light with her hands. She sends the ball of light in the direction of the demon. He gets hit with so much force that he falls over, groaning in pain. He starts to shrink, tinier and tinier by the second.

Finally, he disintegrates into thin air…

We won! We did whatever mission we were sent to do! We fought off the monsters and obstacles!

The water droplet jumps up and extinguishes the fire that is located where the demon was standing a minute ago. It starts increasing in size and jumps up onto the roof of the Notre Dame cathedral. The fire extinguishes immediately after the water touches it.

I had fallen over when the water was growing and now I start to pick myself up from the pavement.

I listen to the conversation that is held between our group. They are talking about the crystal orbs. I don’t really know why they

all want it but I heard that it had something to do with gargoyles. Luna suddenly says something. “ The orb isn’t here” I zone out for the rest of the conversation because I’m not entirely interested in collecting the crystal balls. I look up at the cathedral and see that all the fire was put out by the now gigantic droplet of water.

The drop of water puts out every fire there is in Paris. It keeps jumping around as if putting out fires was like playing with toys to it.

There is suddenly a loud explosion and I come back to Earth. I look around and see that the explosion was set around me.

Fortunately, the water droplet comes to the rescue. He hops to us from where he was on the roof of the cathedral and puts out the fire by jumping on us.

When he gets off of us, I’m soaking wet. My hair is dripping with water and everyone around me is in the same condition as me. We’re all soaked from head to toe. My clothes have become heavier from the weight of the water.

We all recover from our shock and confusion and head off to where we wanted to go. I saw Luna and Jaqueline head away

together. I start to head to my house. It takes a bit of time to walk there, but eventually I arrive.

By the time I arrive, my clothes are all dried. My hair is still damp but that’s fine. I make myself a cup of hot chocolate and sit on my couch. I turn on the television and switch the channel to the news. I watch it for a while, nothing catching my eye.

That was until I saw a video of Tom and the giant water droplet. I guess they became friends after all the chaos. They make the perfect duo because Tom is a firefighter and the water droplet could easily put out a fire.

I don’t exactly know where Korine is but I think he’s off somewhere, searching for the crystal orb he was so eager to get his hands on.

2 year afterwards…

I had continued my studying at the University of Paris with Professor Ignatz. He is helping me become a real and better doctor. I chose to become a surgeon like my father so I have to work really hard. After loads of studying, I finally succeeded in becoming a surgeon. I’m very successful in my work and in the end, I even managed to become a professor at the University of Paris. I’m living my dream life and am very thankful for the

experience I had two years ago. It helped me become stronger and braver…
