Frontline workers through the Pandemic have been hailed as the heroes that they are. But there are other heroes that may have been forgotten, who have also been fighting the battle and that’s our Early Childhood Educators.

You may not even know that all early educators worked right through the pandemic. These essential workers care for children of health care professionals as well as the workers that keep the Sunshine Coast running! We wish to thank and celebrate all Early Educators, but would like to give a very special shout out to the educators of excellence at Karinya Montessori Children’s House. These educators support our children to feel secure, confident and capable every day by creating environments for learning that are engaging and inspiring. All while ensuring they meet all the regulations from the National Quality Standard and innovative practice, which is no small task! A mystery spot check inspection can happen at any time. The Montessori Method is unique. It includes: • Practical life – care of self, care of others, care of the environment. • Sensorial – sensory exploration of taste, touch, smell and sound. • Culture Arts – painting, drawing, music and dance. • Culture Science – investigation of plants, animals and people in our community and around the world. • Numeracy – hands-on meaningful exploration of numbers. • Literacy – hands-on purposeful exploration of literacy. Karinya Montessori Children’s House wants to empower parents to feel confident and capable, giving suggestions and help on navigating the tricky and most important foundation years of their children’s life. The team at Karinya Montessori care for kids, that’s a given, but it’s also important that they care for themselves. Working with children is a great joy, but it is also a great responsibility and takes high emotional intelligence and resilience. The team care for themselves by including Yoga, Meditation, Rock Climbing, Zumba and Walking in Nature as part of their health regime. Karinya Montessori Educators are highly valued and so are compensated with above award salaries, as well as being rewarded with many perks during the year. On September 1st, we celebrated ‘Early Educator Day,’ celebrating these front-line workers who help pave the future of our children.
