OUR STORY
Southern Design Companies began its journey in 2009 as a small landscaping venture in North Atlanta founded by Blanchard Benson. The business primarily partnered with regional and national homebuilders and soon developed a reputation for customer-centric focus, relentless dedication to quality, and commitment to exceptional service.
As the years passed, the guiding principles of the SDCo brand have been carefully preserved, resulting in remarkable growth of the company. The desire to continually improve the operational efficiency of the business by taking on new challenges has led to innovative approaches and a lot of change. In 2014 services were enhanced when the company vertically integrated with an inhouse plant nursery and expanded materials inventory.
Later in 2016 the company was further strengthened by adding concrete foundations and flatwork scopes of work to its service offerings. The addition of helical piers in 2019 further broadened the company's expertise and capabilities. In 2022 the company opened a commercial arm of the business to service general contractors for multi-family and commercial projects.

Location: Charlotte, NC
Southern Design Companies, a leading name in residential Hardscape, Concrete, & Landscapes construction, is currently seeking a seasoned Superintendent to manage our operations. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for providing strategic direction, enhancing operational effectiveness, fostering business expansion, and nurturing a cohesive team atmosphere. We are particularly focused on candidates from the local area who exhibit a deep comprehension of the residential construction market for Hardscape, Concrete, & Landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with on-site builders, crews, and inspectors/engineers to determine project specifications.
Coordinate and mobilize necessary resources (manpower/equipment/materials).
Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
Coordinate and mobilize crews, delegating responsibilities.
Supervise crew work and provide guidance when necessary.
Evaluate progress and communicate accurate project billing to the office.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, reporting any issues to senior management.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Punctuality.
Ability to complete paperwork promptly.
Clear and efficient communication in English; bilingual a plus but not required.
Understanding and compliance with quality, health, and safety standards.
