We are hiring an experienced Pool Construction Superintendent to manage high-end swimming pool and outdoor living projects. You’ll oversee every phase, from concept to client handover, coordinating schedules, budgets, and client relations. Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, and a results-driven approach are key to success in this role.

Work Location:

Job sites vary between Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties.

Work Environment:

Work is performed outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, steam, controlled and hazardous substances, pesticides, herbicides, gases, chemicals, electrical currents, and moving machinery. Regular contact with staff and the public.

Equipment Used:

Company car, cell phone, and laptop/iPad; frequent use of excavators, skid steers, loaders, and general construction and landscaping tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clients, architects, designers, and subcontractors to develop project plans and specifications that meet client requirements and budgetary constraints.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.

Oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, excavation, pool installation, landscaping, and outdoor amenities.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, addressing any issues that arise.

Maintain effective communication with the project manager, team members, and clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Keep accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and schedules.

Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, motivating and supporting team members to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of pool construction and maintenance.

Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize assignments.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience working in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.

Qualifications

Capability to handle multiple small to mediumsized projects simultaneously.

Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Competence in interpreting submittal packages and maintaining quality control on the job site.

Understanding of RFI and COR processes, including identification, issuance, processing, tracking, and documentation.

Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

Strong attention to detail.

Leadership abilities and skill in motivating others.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in electronic communication, including email and messaging.

Qualifications

Ability to travel to various construction sites.

Strong math and analytical skills.

Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, specifications, and project documents.

Experience:

10+ years in the residential construction industry in a supervisory role.

5+ years in pool, water feature, or fountain construction.

Experience in mechanical, concrete, forming, trenching, plumbing, and electrical work.

Proficiency in reading plans and take-offs.

OSHA 30-hour training certification, along with CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred).

Clean driver’s license.

Bilingual in Spanish & English (required).

Physical Requirements:

Frequent sitting for extended periods; standing, walking, or crouching on uneven surfaces.

Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and move objects, equipment, plants, or tools.

Ability to push and pull objects up to 150 lbs. with assistance.

Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, hearing, and vision within normal range; strong verbal communication skills.
