About Site Superintendent Opportunity: WHO YOU ARE The Site Superintendent manages the dayto-day work on site and monitors the performance of subcontractors and laborers, and coordinates with the Project Manager to attain scheduling goals. The Superintendent is in charge of keeping the production schedule to bring the project in on time and on budget while monitoring activities and notifies the Project Manager of impending areas of concern or cost impact well in advance of becoming an issue.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Collaborate with the PM in creating the project schedule and update it on a regular basis. Coordinate and schedule all necessary trades and vendors in accordance with the project schedule. Provide input to the project team regarding subs, vendors, and suppliers for the project and make recommendations. Efficiently communicate and direct subcontractors and support staff. Also effectively communicate with building and/or area personnel. Communicate unforeseen conditions and changes to the Project Manager that may affect the schedule, quality and cost of the project. Coordinate resources between project teams as needed. Become familiar with blueprints and construction documents, do takeoffs and layouts as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Understand, communicate and implement company policies and procedures; ensure consistency and quality control. Manage the inspection service process with local and county municipalities. Keep a daily log (defined as completing the daily log thoroughly each day) of all activity on the job site and keep the project team informed of any issues. Ensure employee timecards are completed thoroughly, including clear descriptions of the work. Understand and adhere to OSHA requirements and DLC’s safety policies, including weekly safety meetings, and compliance that all employees and subcontractors are adhering to the safety requirements. Comply with posting and communication of legal employment (labor law) postings or other related material.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Act as a liaison between the office and field for employee and employer communication needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: High School diploma; preferred Bachelor’s degree or certification in construction 10 – 15 years’ experience in the construction industry with at least 5 years as a supervisor Knowledge of building codes and permit regulations Ability to read complex plans and schedules Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently Proficiency with MS Office with emphasis on MS Project and Excel, Procore Comfortable using online tools and apps to facilitate construction and administration
