Retirees

George Moll celebrated his retirement and 35th year as the head cross country coach this fall. Senior runner, Lauren Ahola, reflected on her time as a runner stating, “Coach Moll impacted my personal and athletic development during my four years of high school cross country through workouts at practices, meets, team dinners, and daily prayer. I am thankful that I was able to be a part of his support and devotion to our cross country family.” After retiring from Sterling Boiler & Mechanical, Dennis Niemeier ‘70 joined the Mater Dei staff in 2015 and became the Co-Facilities Manager with Steve Luigs after years of volunteering at the school. Often the first to arrive and last to leave the school grounds for the day, Dennis has been an incredible asset to the school. There seems to be no limit to his energy or abilities. Dennis’ dedication to Mater Dei was recognized in 2020 as a recipient of the first-ever MDFAA Distinguished Service Award Winner alongside Janice (Goebel) Schuble ‘64.

Mater Dei has been so lucky to have him in our building day in and day out for the past six years. We wish him much joy and rest in his next chapter.
