Welcome

to our 4th Annual Bull & Female Sale.

This is a set we’re genuinely proud of — led by our largest sire group to date from Cedar Wind 329J. Along with that comes a solid, practical lineup of yearling Angus and SimAngus bulls and 11 open yearling heifers.

As always, our goal is simple: raise sound, functional cattle that go out and work for cattlemen. We believe this group is deep from top to bottom — cattle built on good cows, backed by performance, and designed to be productive and profitable in real-world programs.

If you’re in the area, we’d sure enjoy having you stop by before sale day to sort through the offering — even in the middle of calving season, we’re glad to show you the cow herd behind them. The sale will be hosted on DVAuction, with videos posted there as well. Give us a call anytime if you’d like to talk through the cattle.

We’ve had a great year in the cattle business and are grateful for the folks who make it possible—especially our biggest supporters, Scott and Stacy Zoss. We’re proud to be a family-based operation, bringing the next generation into the seedstock business, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to earn a place in your program.

LZ Livestock has earned the MaternalPlus® designation from the American Angus Association through the Total Herd Enrollment program. We’re proud to be one of about 24 herds in South Dakota to meet this standard. MaternalPlus reflects complete herd reporting and puts the spotlight where it belongs — on the cow herd that is the foundation of our program.

Guarantee: All bulls are guaranteed breeders for the first breeding season. Successful bidders assume risk of sale lots once sale is final on March 21st. Our highest priority is to sell sound, functional animals that meet the breeding needs of your program, but recognize the health and soundness of the sale cattle is a shared responsibility following sale day. Should a bull become injured during the first breeding season a suitable replacement will be provided if available. If one is not available, sale credit will be offered towards our 2027 Production Sale less $3,000 of sale price. This guarantee does not apply to death loss. Full salvage value is retained by the new owner. All bulls will be fertility tested prior to delivery. All heifers will have a breeding soundness exam completed prior to sale date including pelvic measure. While we do not guarantee heifers to be breeders, please let us know if you have issues getting them bred as your future success with these females is also our success.

Wintering & Delivery: All sale lots winter free until 4/1/26. If you are unable to take delivery at that time a daily feeding rate will apply. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within a 250 mile radius of sale location. All efforts will be made for timely delivery after the sale.

Dicounts:A volume discount will be applied to the total purchase price for bidders purchasing 3 or more sale lots (3% on 3 lots, 4% on 4 lots, and 5% on 5 lots or more).

In appreciation to our customers that continue to support our program, successful bidders that have purchased on our 2 previous sales will receive a 3% repeat customer discount on this year’s total purchase.

This calf crop of bulls has impressed us from day one. They’ve been developed on a balanced ration to grow the right way and stay sound. Their uniformity speaks volumes—a direct reflection of our foundation females. And don’t forget, we offer both volume and repeat buyer discounts as our way of saying thank you.

Take advantage of an unique opportunity to purchase a uniform group of half sisters. The Cedar Wind bloodlines have been used heavily by our families as they consistently produce exceptional cows. These heifers would make a great starter package or a new foundational building block for any herd! All heifers are registrable in either AAA or ASA, LZ will complete registration for an additional $50 per head due at time of payment for heifers.
