To be fair, photography is not about capturing a moment of something that happened, or something that professional should only do. But, the idea of taking a photo in intention of creating story and remembering the moment that passed by, taking a step back and living the moment of the present whilst holding your precious gear is one of a kind moment that everyone’s been taking for granted.
However, in my opinion. Photography is not something that everyone should know or even take seriously. It should be taken as important value when shooting an image from camera or even a phone. Photography is not all about becoming professional nor skillful, and not even rich to own a camera, using smartphone or digicam is enough to feel the same value of other photographers.
I made this magazine to articulate and construct of how can a simple gear or even a phone can be used as a tool for visualizing story and reliving the moments.
Though, I’m not belittling the professionals in this field of photography. The context is that, everything can have the same value when you put your mind in to it.
Photography, in professional’s perspective this is a big role that should solely focuses on the rules and standards of taking an image. Framing, composition, balance, and other technical things are the ones that everyone should know first when starting out photography. In reality, these rules and standards are just a big nonsensical opinion that has been passed down since the time of the invention of photography. It sure is that general knowledge, skills, and technicalities are important to have in this kind of field, especially when starting out photography journey.
Photography may be broad and expensive. But for my perspective, what’s important is the moment that you shoot a photo and taking a moment of appreciating the value what you have taken. Story is far more important than just wasting a bunch of money for camera gears. That is why I made this magazine. I would like to explore the value and importance of shooting a photo even when you are not a professional, taking a step back and realize something that everyone has been taking for granted.
