Otto August Otto August is a 15 year old origamist from Western Springs College. He became interested in paperfolding in 2017 and has since been expanding a repertoire of increasingly complex forms. He is particularly interested in Kusadama and Tessellation forms, some of which take up to 15 hours to make. Otto finds origami challenging and meditative, he is drawn to the complex problem solving, precision and repetition that are required to build each abstract pattern. He collects paper from a variety of sources, some online from specialist suppliers, some are gifts from family, others he finds closer to home at Studio Art Supplies and Daiso. The larger tessellations are the most difficult to find sources for, interesting paper at a large scale is not easy to come by.
