Nationally recognized, the Master Chorale of South Florida (MCSF) has thrilled, delighted, and inspired members of the South Florida community through live performances of choral-orchestral masterworks for 20 years. As a collective, MCSF reflects “The Voices of South Florida” with over 100 auditioned ensemble singers from the tri-county area.

Born nearly 200 years apart, Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms shared a passion that will be celebrated in this dynamic concert. Paired with works by these two titans of European classical music will be pieces composed and arranged by Harry T. Burleigh. One of the most influential Black American composers of the 20th century, Burleigh was instrumental in developing a characteristically American sound by arranging spirituals and other traditional Black music forms with incomparable beauty and virtuosity.

Light Shadows is the Master Chorale’s inaugural “Concert for a Cause,” a new initiative that will spotlight organizations making a positive impact in our community. The Alzheimer’s Association was chosen because people with Alzheimer’s often recognize and respond to music that has held meaning in their lives. Music knits out memories together. This concert will feature some of the most memorable popular songs, inspiration songs and excerpts from two poignant works written about Alzheimer’s disease and the Alzheimer’s experience. Ten percent of the ticket revenue will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
