Dear MBI Member, For many years, the MBI-PAC has been the most recognizable tool that our membership has deployed for legislative advocacy at the Iowa Capitol. When you account for the progress that we’ve made in improving the overall business climate favorable to Iowa’s construction industry, there is no match for the MBI-PAC. But over those same years, it’s clear that we’ve grown complacent in growing the MBI-PAC amongst the membership. That’s why we intend to build upon the legislative successes of the past, and set up the MBI-PAC for the next decade of legislative advocacy. Starting this year, our new MBI-PAC program, called the Builders Action Fund, will bring increased attention to fundraising and increased recognition of our contributors and their companies. Whether you contribute annually or are doing so for the first time, please understand that your support is what makes what we do on your behalf possible!

As part of the new MBI-PAC program, we will be identifying and recognizing those MBI-member companies who are going above and beyond normal advocacy.

This would include efforts to engage new MBI-PAC contributors, personalized meetings with lawmakers and sponsoring MBI-PAC events. Many of these efforts are happening already. We believe it is time to bring them forward as shining examples of legislative advocacy for others in the industry.

Note: Any contribution to the MBI-PAC must be made from a personal account, as corporate contributions are prohibited under state law.

Legacy Club

Members of the MBI-PAC Legacy Club will be recognized for their collective efforts during the previous calendar year. The qualifications include: • Must have contributed an aggregate of $5,000 to the MBI-PAC amongst personal contributions from all employees; • Must have at least two (2) new employees contributing to the MBI-PAC that have not in the past (this can be any contribution); • Must have documented at least five (5) communications with lawmakers (emails, phone calls, and in-person visits all suffice); and Recognition: • Company will be recognized during the Membership Meeting at the Annual Winter Conference.

• Company will be recognized on a plaque that will be displayed among peers at MBI office.

• Company will be recognized on the MBI website.

• Company will be recognized at the MBI Regional Membership Meetings.

DERS ACTION FUND INDIVIDUAL

President’s Club Those who contribute an aggregate of $1,500 personally in a calendar year to the MBI-PAC receive the following perks & recognition: • First invitation to MBI sponsored political events • Picture and short biography on MBI website • Name inscribed on a plaque displayed at MBI office • Recognized during Membership Meeting at Annual Winter Conference • Recognized in MBI Annual Report • Exclusive access to MBI-PAC lounge at Annual Winter Conference • Recognized at all MBI-PAC events for following year
