FOR CONTRACTORS

12-MONTH MASTERY PROGRAM

The commercial construction industry is changing fast — and AI is at the center of it. MBI’s AI for Contractors program is a 12-month, hands-on learning experience designed specifically for Iowa’s construction community. Each month combines a 90-minute live virtual training session with a 60-minute Q&A check-in and realworld assignments you apply directly to your own projects and workflows. No theory for theory’s sake — every session is built around tools and strategies you can use immediately. The program moves through three phases: building your AI foundation, applying it for direct business impact, and ultimately creating competitive advantage through custom solutions and automation. Over the course of the year, participants will master essential skills including prompt engineering, Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered estimating and bidding, safety documentation, code research, predictive analytics, and workflow automation with tools like Procore and BlueBeam.

The Master Builder Designation program will offer credits for completion of this course. For more information on becoming a ‘Master Builder’, please visit MBI’s website at www.mbi.build/mbd. 15 Credits

Meet Your

PRESENTER CARL BRITTON JR. Iron Thread Consulting | Derby, KS Carl Britton Jr. has spent 20 years in construction and 15 in technology, and he’s built his career at the intersection of the two. A Class B General Contractor and three-time published author, he grew up working residential concrete, spent years in the field, and later founded Iron Thread Consulting LLC, where he delivers handson AI education and training to contractor associations and their members nationwide—including NECA National, multiple NECA chapters, SMACNA, and MCA. Because he’s pulled permits, read plans, and managed subs himself, Carl doesn’t lecture on theory or make inflated promises; his sessions are practical, energetic, and built around the everyday headaches contractors actually face— paperwork overload, scope creep, RFI backlogs, communication breakdowns, and thin margins. His job, as he puts it, is to translate AI from an intimidating buzzword into a tool your team can pick up Monday morning and actually use.
