Master Builders Workplace Relations Manager, Emma Kirby, Master Builders Deputy CEO, Sue-Ann Fresneda, Director of SiteForce Recruitment, Chantal Penny and DR Homes Sales and Operations Manager, Amanda Beatty at the Brisbane Influencers Lunch.

Amanda Beatty is a successful Sales and Operations Manager, with over a decade of demonstrated history of working in the building and construction, project development and real estate industries. She is the Sales Manager for South-East Queensland, residential home builder, DRHomes. The hands-on manager believes mental health is a high priority when leading her team. “I find communication is key to navigating difficult and stressful situations. “I have an open working relationship for all my team members and staff as a whole are all aware that they are welcome to come have a chat to me about anything if they ever need to,” she said. Amanda said DRHomes have developed a close-knit team that support each other. “We try to make the working environment as flexible as possible while also being proactive in creating friendly social settings for our staff to feel valued like social club outings and office lunches and morning teas.” Amanda specialises in business development with a key focus on strategic planning, establishing, and maintaining relationships with all customers as well as employees. “You have to be a good listener and be prepared to have some really difficult conversations.

“To provide effective solutions you need to be aware of what is actually happening out there in the real world, and that can’t be done by sitting behind a desk 100 per cent of the time and only looking through monthly reports,” she said. Amanda describes herself as a collaborative leader who is not afraid of getting down in the trenches with her team to get the job done.

Hiring staff that fit

Amanda said hiring new staff to represent the voice and brand of the business was important. “I feel it’s important for their individual style and personality to shine through, however, the effort I go to in making sure my team are fully aware of what makes DRHomes so different from other builders is my number one priority.” Amanda provides training for the sales team to make sure they are experts in their field which in turn makes them the right cultural fit for the business. With her personal touch, Amanda makes time for a one-on-one approach when creating a professional culture for her team.
