What Allied Music Centre and the Expansion Mean
Delivering on Community Impact:
For the first time, Massey Hall’s education and community outreach programming will have a permanent home with the goal of reaching even more people in need. Every resource and space from the Instrument Library and the Studio through to the 6th Floor Theatre has received thoughtful consideration to create opportunities for those looking to broaden their musical horizons. In five short years, we’ve grown our programs twelve-fold, and we anticipate further growth to be inclusive of diverse communities including groups that come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds.

Artist Development:
Our Artist Development Program serves as an artist incubator and strategic support centre for artists at all stages of their careers to foster career and audience growth and fuel the creative process. Artists will find a complete tool kit in Allied Music Centre’s four performance venues and dedicated resources and spaces for writing, rehearsing, recording, and more. A holistic and customized approach for each artist will help them climb the venue ladder from the intimacy of the 6th Floor Theatre to realizing their dream of standing on the Allan Slaight Stage making their Massey Hall debut. Opportunities abound at Allied Music Centre, the artist’s home away from home.
City Building and Fiscal Sustainability:
Allied Music Centre will support generations of activity and creativity, providing operational efficiency and long term financial sustainability not only for our organization but also for the Canadian music sector at-large. We are at a key juncture for the city’s cultural landscape with many venues closing their doors, which means fewer opportunities for audiences to connect with our homegrown talent and fewer opportunities for artists to perform. When Allied Music Centre opens, there will be a place for all artists to create, perform, and connect with audiences.
