Matt is also “fully committed” to trying a few things; he also appears as Enjolras in Les Misérables. Our third show of the season is the musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. It is a misconception that Peanuts, the cartoon upon which the show is based, is just for kids. Charles Schulz, who for over four decades gave voice to adult issues through the mouths of babes, astonished adult readers on a daily basis with his subversive commentary. Topics like depression, women’s lib, existentialism and the Vietnam War were candidly addressed in his famously spare four-panel strip. Yet the musical lands for all ages, with catchy tunes that ultimately carry a message of the search for love and happiness. Here in our valley community, 1 in 3 children are not prepared for kindergarten. Our valley can do better. ACF’S Cradle to Career Initiative builds youth success from Aspen to Parachute, serving the needs of over 22,000 children aged 0 -18 by bringing nonprofits, schools, business, government and philanthropy together to spur regional collaborative action that will ensure that children are ready for kindergarten and graduate from high school ready for college or career.
As the backbone organization for the Cradle to Career Initiative, ACF is guiding the vision and strategy, supporting aligned activities, building public will and mobilizing funding to advance the work of the Initiative. We have established a Cradle to Career Fund to support our efforts and help initiate and expand programs and services throughout our region.
